So basically every mage that uses pyroblast I lose against and every mage that doesn't use pyroblast I have won against.
Ranked is much harder this time around. Last time I got to platinum without any effort and only lost like 2 matches on the way before stopping. Now I am coming across a mage with antonidas, sylvanas, alexstryza, pyroblasts, etc, all relying heavily on cone of cold, ice block, blizzard, flamestrike... much different this time around.... and this is all during the ranking where you don't even lose a star if you lose.

Oh, also I think the argent commander nerf is pretty good. But maybe I say this only because backstab removes it for no cost lol

oh fuck that reshuffle bug hit me now... it did not make me lose but it also had nothing to do with DOA... I wanted to play a faerie dragon between two other minions so the mage couldn't cone of cold all three minions... but luckily he didn't CoC anyway and I won. (also no pyroblasts from this one so I was bound to win).

Yeah it is just a complete luck thing. Your account could have no history, no games played, or anything, and you can get the beta key. I guess that is just fair I suppose. I prefer it this way, and I dislike how other companies generally just want an extra dime by pairing beta invites with other game purchases. I hold indie devs to a different standard though.
I've gotten into the wow BC beta and sc2 WOL beta in the past.
I'm went 0-4 with magetwo arena runs
but 3x 5-3 mana wurms!
thats what broke my streak! Then I lost two more :[

1st arena since patch. Drew a Warlock deck and the closest I got to a Demon being offered in the draft was a single imp Master.....
youre not supposed to draft anything but neutrals anyway

i got the crappiest mage deck... grabbed a couple mana worms early on and got no spells the entire draw... like literally 3 or 4 spells total.
seriously... a mage deck without even the choice to get any direct damage spells.... 1-3... played a mage to rub salt in the wound who had several arcane missiles, fireballs, pyroblasts, and frostbolts.

Same thing foil cards do in a regular TCG/CCG -- nothing. It's just for show/rarity value.

And you know what? I've got a hunch that I will get one when I'm unable to play (that is, a week from now until the second week of january). Because that's what happens to me
Funnily enough tonight has been one of the worst Hearthstone nights for me, going 0-3, 2-3 and other terrible results in Arena. Doing half decently with this pally deck now, but my gold reserves have taken a deep hit

It was about 40 minutes ago and yeah that must have been me. You managed to get out all 3 Mana Wyrms, trust me not at the same time though

Welp, I can't play Arena anymore. I have the looping bug, where it keeps playing the animation for the key and doesn't even let me pay gold to play. I checked the forums and other people have the problem too.

I just had a soul crushing win vs a paladin who brought my rogue deck to its knees with a 9/9 bloodknight. I had to sac my current field to get rid of it (I would draw assassinate a turn or two later). Then I was down to only 8 hp and he was at like 28. What does he do? Double consecrate. I anticipated 1 consecrate... but not 2.
Luckily I had defias ringleader on deck with a acolyte in the field to give me an extra draw. I played every minion I had, knowing that he could hit me with that avenging wrath 8 random damage spell at any time. I'm sitting at 4 hp. I bring him down to 21 hp. He drops a tirion fordring...
So we're sitting at 21 his hp, 4 my hp. 1 divine shield taunt legendary that guarantees him a win (I had no taunts) if I kill it. I have to win this round.
I played assassinate on the legendary taunt. Deal 16 some damage with my field. And follow through with 2 eviscerates. doing some 24 damage... a glorious heart stopping come back.
edit: Extra sweet cause he was doing "thank you" when I had to trade 3 cards for his bloodknight btw

There was one, but it's been abandoned for a month of so now. Not sure why it wasn't updated in the OP, but I guess this isn't really an "|OT|" so it wasn't considered I guess. Maybe somebody should make a new thread once open beta starts.

I have been in the beta for about a month now and mages are currently out of control. I just lost arena because I encountered 2 mage decks in a row that could prevent me from hitting them for about 3 turns in a row due to aoe freezes before dropping 2 flamestrikes in a row. Totally fair. I have seen this again and again.
