Just met someone that seemed to have a full deck of gold cards, at least 2 legendaries which he played. Wonder how much money he spent.

I'm really angry with how Arena works. I just come from a 2/3 round. How can the system be so retarded? I pick my cards, not even one epic, lame rare cards, only two 4 mana cards to choose from, then I face 4 mages and one shaman, two of the mages with two legendaries, one of the others with infinite fire balls, pyros, sheeps and everything you'd wish to have.

Is it really that hard to fix the number of legendaries, epics and rares? Is it? Why do I have to play with a guy with two legendaries when I don't even have epics and have shitty rares?

Fucking stupid system.

Isn't it already basically open beta? I believe they just gave access to everyone who opted in for beta. Anyone noticing an influx of newbs in arena yet?

No. I've opted in since the second wave and I still have yet to receive a key. It's really frustrating, actually - since I've practically been checking once a day to see if I got it since the second wave. :/

At the very least, the matchmaking should be weighted more appropriately.

Have you checked recently to see if Hearthstone is flagged via the Battle.net launcher and/or the Account Management page? This last batch of accounts being flagged for access does not have a corresponding E-Mail.

At the same time, how does an amazing deck with a bunch of Legendaries etc. even end up in the X-2 bracket to begin with.

Though I'm not entirely sure how losses factor into the matchmaking pre-9 wins.

Oh my gosh. Thank you! I got in!!!!

Not my night for arena. First ever disconnect in over a month, in a game that could have gone either way. And it was not my internet either, because I got no notification of a service blip. Damn blizzard servers costing me 50g. And you can't even complain/request a refund. What BS.

Oh well. I just think it's garbage though. At least I read on their forums it's an issue that is on the list to address, so at some point a year or two down the road there will probably be a way of reconnecting.

Then I get a normal game against a mage, with at least 2 flamestrikes (each one cleared 3+ creatures of mine, for the whole board), and at least 2 blizzards which again cleared 3+ creatures each time, and also a Mad Bomber that could aim (hit me and 2 of my X/1 guys). Even had one of those etheral guys that are 3/3 with a +2/2 for each turn you had a secret and he had secrets. Needless to say, it was a losing battle.

Running into other amazing decks, and also bad luck, probably. You can also draft several legendaries and epics, yet fail to draft a good set of minions. Deathwing does no good if you're running a ton of goldshire footman quality minions.

But it seems like Blizzard could do a better job of matchmaking weighting. I've def run into 0-2, 1-2, 2-2 opponents whose decks were quality drafts. And this was while running garbage Arena decks.

Damn, thought for sure the patch was today. I was all excited and crafted another release the hounds.

I'm approaching 2k gold now, I think I should probably arena for a bit. I just haven't been feeling it lately though, but I do need some dust to start legendary craft grind.

I've had this happen to me several times. I don't know if they have a log of these issues, but I would definitely appreciate if they setup some support for it, because it is BS of the highest degree. Even more when you are potentially spending real money on those runs.

To be honest, I have maybe 90% of all cards (not 90% of legendaries unfortunately). If I wanted to make one deck completely Golden I could probably do it. I'd have to destroy most every other card I own. I really wouldn't bother, but it doesn't mean he's thrown loads of money at it. And if he is maybe primarily an Arena player and has nothing to spend dust on then one deck of Golden's wouldn't be too difficult.

I did what I do with every F2P game, if I enjoy it I'll throw down what I would have payed for it. In Hearthstones case I chucked about $30 at it in packs. The rest has come from dailies and Arena, and some very lucky drops, Golden Legendaries for dust etc.

Just saw that I got into the beta.
Completed all the basic practice to unlock the various classes and played one non ranked game as mage against a dude that had no clue what was going on, judging by what he did.

Did some Arena taking trumps guide into account, got alot of very good top 15 cards and ended up 3-3, the old adage of teaching a man to fish comes to mind, it still requires an apt mind to use the information.

I used his list too, thought I had a decent deck.

One loss was a terrible mistake by me, but the other two losses felt like people top decking exactly what they needed. But hey, that's the nature of the game I suppose.

Just had my best draft, pally with 3 truesilvers, equality, consecrates, solid neutrals, and go 3-3 lol. A crap warrior deck can go 8-3 randomly, but when I expect to go 9+ I just run into crazy decks. Crazy how arena works, I guess in the end it all balances out to average like 5-6 wins, but still weird.

going 12-1, I consider it 12-0, i literally lost that one game by myself, i wouldn't even call them misplays, they were misclicks, playing ringleader when i meant to play agent, etc.

anyways, going 12-1 and getting 2 plain cards does not make me happy. I thought i'd be getting a ton of gold, i wound up getting as much as 8 wins usually got me.

This is especially true when one of those cards is lightwell.... fuck lightwell man!

I went 3-3 with this Arena deck. Thought it was the best one I'd ever drafted.

At least my pack was really nice. Maybe the best one I've opened.

it's a random 8 damage spell. Not really that great tbh. It has value, but it's not broken - by no means.

I think its randomness saves it from the nerf stick but it's pretty broken if the opponent has no minions on the field when you summon him. dat 8/8 with charge for 8

Had pretty epic moment last night on Arena.

Opponent (priest) used Mind Vision, and got copy of my Molten Giant. After that he played it. I thought it was game over for me. I had really bad cards, but one card saved my ass.

Topdecked Holy Wrath, and directed the attack on opponents Molten Giant.
Guess what did I pull... My own Molten Giant.

BAM! 20 dmg straight to face. It would've been funnier if I attacked opponents face straight...

To be honest, Deathwing has won me more games on the sub-sequent run than Rag did. Went 6-3 with the Rag-deck after hitting a wall at 6-0, with him only really being active twice, one of which was immediately killed by SW:D. I'm now 4-2 with Deathwing, who has won me 3 of those games.

Rag is basically King Krush for 1-less mana in that instance, but most of the time he is a King Krush that you cannot target at anything. I think it's pretty reasonable, or maybe 1-mana too low at the very worst.

He's also pretty easily removed in the current meta with either big game hunter, tinkmaster, hex, etc. At the very least he usually gets faceless'd, I almost always save my faceless for him.

I have a problem that has been going on since I got the game, and is now really getting on my nerves. About 50% of the time when I try to start the game, it hangs and I have to force quit it. Out of the 50% times that I get in, I have about a 40% chance of actually finding a match. The other 60% I get stuck on finding match, it just searches forever and I once again have to force quit the game, as the cancel button stops working. And then we're back in the loop. It's incredibly frustrating.

What's more is that this problem exists only on my laptop on my home network. On other networks (I've tried two) it seems to work fine. It also seems to work fine on my PC which bypasses the router and is directly connected to the modem. So there's something in my router I guess? Weird thing is though that I've checked that the ports are forwarded, so what could it be?

So I figured I should buy some cards.

I bought a 40 pack of cards this morning.

I got a total of ONE legendary in 40 packs - Edwin VanCleef. I guess I'll start playing Rogue a bit more.

He's my 2nd legendary - my first is Illidan Stormrage, which I hear isn't that good.. sigh.

The norm is somewhere around 1:20 (which would be more on the little bit lucky side) to 1:40 for getting a legendary, so you actually did fine, just not great. I mean some people can get 3 legendaries in one pack, but others will go over 40 packs and get none. I suspect though if you buy 40 packs from the store, perhaps your odds of getting at least 1 legendary may be 100%, since you spent money.

I feel so bad for you... I got incredibly lucky with my packs and I've bought about 30 or so total :S got a golden thinkmaster in the first week, DE it for a Ysera, then got a Malygos, a Sylvanas, and I just crafted a Cairne...

on the bright side : you're probably better than me at the game, I just have good cards

I too have been relatively lucky, bought around 40 packs so far, earned maybe another 10 and have got 2 shyvanas, Golden vancleef, harrison jones.

I lost count, but I am pretty sure I'm above 50 packs and have only gotten Hogger. I have enough dust to easily craft another Legendary, but I've had some fun just kicking people's asses to the best of my ability without using any of them.

Besides, I tend to mostly play Arena so it doesn't matter what I have in Constructed.

I've gotten....

Grommash Hellscream (crafted so doesn't count),
Tirion Fordring (crafted so doesn't count),
Malygos (meh, I want to use him, but..),
Alexstracza (twice :( ),
Ragnaros (twice :( ),
Leeroy Jenkins (twice :( ),
Tinkmaster Overspark(twice, one of which was golden. I refuse to DE goldens).

....I may have bought 40 packs twice :(.

I've gotten Lorewalker Cho twice, The Beast twice, Al'Akir, and probably someone else I bet I disenchanted so I could craft Rares/Epics/Sylvanas.

wait why are you sad? Rag/Alex/Leeroy are all amazing legs

I decided to get 7 packs on my first day of playing (mainly for the golden promo legendary card for beta) but I also opened a pack with my first legendary - Grommash Hellscream! He seems really good.

Just fought 3 Murloc decks in a row, Mage, Warlock and Shaman, and trashed them all. Every single one of them were asshole players who rage quit the moment I ruined their party.

What's funny is I got my Illidan in yesterday in a random pack I got for 100g... He was my *very* first legendary (and I've opened a ton of packs). So I'm just incredibly unlucky with them (but otoh, I got 2 DoAs in normal packs very early on, so...)

I'm not that good :) I mostly play mage, but now I have a nicer pool of cards to play with, so I can do a bit better. My Mage doesn't have Pyro or Blizzard (lol), so that's funny. Before the packs I had no ice lances either, and I have one Cone of Cold, so it's kinda sucky but hey. I can craft a Cone of Cold though, and prolly the 2 Blizzards, so I'll see what I can do (I'm sitting on 700+ dust right now).

I'll also try to make a Rogue deck now, considering I got VanCleef, so I can probably do nice stuff with him.
