Is anyone else getting it forcing you to 1080p in windowed full screen?
yes, whoops.*NOT* slathered on all the time, i hope you mean
If true, then Ninja Theory deserve props for being one of very few who don't implement that abomination of an effect.
Edit: Dammit, just read your latest post![]()
I wish support for 21:9 monitors was more common. This looks absolutely stunning, but I'm not sure I can justify it when the majority of games don't properly support it.
So i have 2 questions:
- Can FOV be changed?
- Downsampling doesn't work for anyone else? It only accepts 1080p or lower for me, if i select 1440p game is still in 1080p.
Is anyone else getting it forcing you to 1080p in windowed full screen?
Every game lately does this to me, locks it to native resolution. I have to switch to exclusive fullscreen mode to enable other resolutions/downsampling
An hour in with my 1080ti and 6700K.. and I'm at 4K60 locked.
I recommend dropping post-processing down to medium to drop the aggressive CA. The game looks very soft, I wish I could drop their AA and use something else or nothing at all.
medium

veryhigh

(fog is in different places nothing to the post effects)
I don't know what's up with that, but on very high I don't have that CA. On thin edges, downsampling could mask it, but it doesn't explain why things like the rocks and that tree branch don't display that quantity of CA.
Does the medium setting of post processing cause any other loss other than CA?
dunno, even on high mine looks like that (imgur upload)

Can someone translate the shader cache part? I don't quite understand with google translate. Is it a in game setting? It says about huge performance gain after restarting on the 970?
So DSR not working in fullscreen? Seems whatever i set - its still only using 1080p.
So no 4K + very high = 60fps on a 1080TI.
Any consensus of what to drop/lower to achieve that?
Only problem with dropping the Effects and Post Processing options is the memory flashes kinda stuff, not sure how to describe them without spoilers, look a bit rough. I ended up just leaving everything on Very High and dealing with the framerate drops. The pretty aggressive, but nice, motion blur helps a lot.
Drop view distance to medium.
I would only drop postprocessing to medium or low. I wouldn't touch View Effects, too much good stuff going on in that one.
Specs:
GPU: RX480 8GB (on latest drivers)
CPU: i5 3570k @ 4.2ghz
RAM: 16GB
Installed on SSD
Settings:
everything Very High
Vsync Off
Everything ran beautifully. I wasn't monitoring, but it felt like a constant 60fps.
Now, it's all gone to complete shit. I'm passed the gate you're trying to get through by defeating the two bosses. Once I got passed all that and crossed the bridge things just got extremely poor performance wise. I'm getting hitches that go into like 25fps or lower. I've tried lowering settings to very low and it doesn't help at all.
This is either poorly optimized and inconsistent for the VC I have or something is wrong with my card specifically. I've monitored CPU usage and it didn't ever go above 80%. GPU was at a constant 100%.
You guys tried restarting the game/PC to make sure it's not a memory leak?
I've restarted the game twice and had the same problem both times immediately after reloading. Haven't tried restarting the computer, though.
EDIT: Restarted the computer and used CCleaner. Performance problems are still there.
Hmpf, well then, sucks but it looks like you bought a PC game day 1 and paid the price.
Thanks for the heads up though, will wait for the usual round of patches and/or pricedrops as one should these days.
Btw. how's GPU and CPU usage during those scenes with heavy drops?
Oh yeah, I'm not really complaining. I'm not too sensitive when it comes to framerate so even though having to play in the sub-30s is definitely annoying, I'll probably just power through, anyway. Just wanted to report on the issue (and maybe see if it was sth on my end that I could fix).
I'll have to check that. I doubt the GPU is the problem, though, since I've tried lowering the graphics settings to High and Middle and neither had much of an (if any) effect on the framerate (whereas in previous areas I was playing on Very High and hitting 50-60 FPS).
EDIT: Okay, I checked. Funnily enough, the GPU usage does seem to be the bottleneck so it really appears to be exactly the same problem as in tesqui's case. Was at 100% at first, then sometimes went down to really low values (like 1%, 4%, that sort of thing) for just a second before surging back up to 100% or 99%. (This might be because I was playing in a section that had the whole darkness hallucination effect going on so you'd sometimes have a few completely black frames but I'm not actually sure if that's the cause of those usage drops.) CPU usage was hovering between high 40s and high 50s. Also tried setting the graphics settings to Low. I think that may have bumped the framerate up from like 17-22 to 19-25 or sth but if that really was the case it still wasn't a significant improvement and I didn't see any significant changes in GPU usage, either.
That might have been true in 2015, but I'd say 95% of my steam library supports the 21:9 aspect ratio without any issues. I'd feel confident in telling people it's safe to upgrade to without much worry..

getting some weird framedrops here and there, other than that stable 60fps all the time at ultra

Anyone with a core i5 and GTX 1060 6GB combo?
Just played a bit more, definitely something off about this game. I'm enjoying it, but I also feel a bit rough after a session. Bit of a headache and my eyes feel more strained than they should. Strange.
Could be the chromatic aberration or some other post processing effect that's causing it.
Wouldn't be the first time.
