Good games CarbonFire and Gotstrangepowers! We now have a sweet APC to drive.
Also, I discovered the secret to Infinte Strafing Runs!
1. Get Strafing Run to Mk3 (10 sec. cooldown, 0.1 sec activation time)
2. Equip the Strategem Priority Perk (Reduce all cooldowns by 40%)
3. Equip 2 Strafing Run Strategems
4. ???
5. Profit!
Now you can call down a Strafing Run, and right as it ends call in the second one. When the second one is ending, the first Strafing Run should be back up. You can lock down one side of the screen with this! The only downside is you might get swarmed by bugs too close to you, or you can hit your teammates if you're not careful.

Tried out that APC briefly, it'll definitely be useful and probably fun to use. That thing has health for days (assuming it doesn't get airdropped on), but the gun can't hit close objects, and it requires at least two players in order to use it effectively.
Also that double-barrel shotgun can be upgraded to be used one-handed, so there is a second one-handed option besides the SMGs.
Cool. I downloaded it from the CH store, the wife just confirmed the game actually is working and that it's not just a pre-load.
Stuck at the office for another 7hrs20min... at least I got tons of shit to do, will probably go by fast. Probably. Maybe. Please? ;_;

You do get things like Mechs and personal shields, but yeah, after about level 5 or 6, it'd probably be too hard to solo without some crazy tactics.
Co-op is pretty great in that even if you do get shot or crushed or mech-stomped or alien-munched, you're back in the action fairly quickly. But it's still co-op, and you still have to deal with people, so that might still be a non-starter for some.
I'm so glad I decided to get this today, it's so much fun even playing with random people and dying all the time to dumb stuff. I do hope the Vita version gets an update to have alternate controls, I just could not get the back touch to reload.

Interesting on the touchpad issue. Reloading works a treat, but yeah, some button remapping wouldn't go astray.

Edit: really? No way to change language to english when it defaulted to finnish?
Edit: okay some of the finnish translations of weapons and such are actually pretty funny, but things like stratagem names might make things difficult in multiplayer. I quess I'll just use their finnish names to add into the chaos

I've been on the fence about getting this, not because of interest, I've been looking forward to it since it was announced, but I'm not sure any of my normal gaming buddies are getting it. But the reviews, GAF impressions and the Plus discount have pushed me over, it just seems too good to pass

Should you be exploring every nook and cranny of each map? I heard there's some chests in hard to reach spots or something?
Maybe for more samples, not sure about any chests. Usually its crazy just getting out of there.

I played to level 10 or so last night. Game starts to change a lot at medium and above difficulties. Need some degree of coordination at that point, and player mistakes can quickly lead to a wipe. Love it.
I'm rolling with the fully upgraded SMG for now. Stunning/slowing those big bugs helps other teammates flank them more easily. I also pack the MG-94 just in case.

Good time playing with you guys yesterday! Too bad we started to wipe on the harder difficulties. Protip: Dropping mines without warning is a good way to rack up the team kills.

What a fantastic game. Can't wait to get back in to it tonight. Even playing with randoms has been good.
I posted a minor suggestion list over in the official playstation forum thread. I think they would be solid fixes.
1. Clearly designate who the is the host. After host migrations, it was unclear who the host was until we all went to the mission table. I assumed the host was always the number #1 slot (orange) but last night after a few host migrations, it did not seem that the host was necessiarily the #1 slot. I might be wrong about this, but it is unclear nonetheless.
2. Placing a waypoint marker on my map, should display on everyone's map. It would be great if I could place a marker on the map as the purple player, and everyone would see the purple waypoint when they opened their map. Right now I don't see any use for the waypoint markers. Having an overlay arrow pointing in the direction of the waypoint while in regular gameplay would be really helpful too. I like playing the role of the UAV scout and route planner. Any tools to make that more effective would be awesome.
3. Utilize the touch pad. The biggest change I would like to see with the touch pad is being able to bring up my map by just touching the pad (not clicking) and having the map go away as soon as I take my finger off. As I mentioned, I like being the route planner and sample scout, so I am constantly checking my map and the click-on click-off becomes combersome especially since you can take no futher actions while in-map. As an added bonus, if touching the pad brought up the map, sliding your finger on the pad should slide around your map view too.
4. Right Stick Sensitivity Adjustment. I am not sure how plausible this is, but a sensitivity slider for the right analog stick would be great. Maybe I just suck at shmups?
Oh and a great tip is to fully upgrade the drone (or have one person in your party fully upgrade it) as soon as possible. Being able to easily collect every sample in each mission means at least 6 samples (is 6 the max per map) every round which means a new research point every other round.
