Distractors got nerfed just when I was about to try to solo the last mission that would unlock my last strategem? Ugh.
EDIT: You know, it's not that bad. I have to play with airplane mode on anyway because the game kept crashing. This means that I won't pick up the latest patch, which means I can still complete the mission with the old effectiveness of the distractor.

If anyone has any troubles unlocking the spreading democracy trophy and the peace and prosperity trophy there may be a solution. I logged in on my ps4 and went into the status screen and unlocked the spreading democracy trophy but the peace and prosperity trophy didn't unlock. I then downloaded the patch on my vita and then repeated the step and then the peace and prosperity trophy unlocked.
It may not happen to everyone but if it does, that was how I got both of mine to unlock.

Since a few people are asking on the Internets I will leave this here for you guys in case anyone finds it useful:
If you haven't received a trophy for hitting level 25, make sure you complete a mission. It should pop then!
If you aren't seeing a trophy from the War, firstly, did you complete a planet in the War? This was one of the requirements for the trophy. If so, have you then gone into the Armory?
Are you also sure you are using your local save data in which you completed the planet during the War? You need to be playing at a console/with the save file that was used when said planet was completed.
Lastly, make sure you are online.

Great, got the trophy for participating in the successful galactic war. And I've unlocked my last strategem, so I just need to gain 4 more levels to reach 25.
The distractor tactics didn't work quite as well with the Illuminates even pre-nerf because of how diffusely spread they are. The invisible detector units fly everywhere, so it's harder to avoid their patrols than the bug or cyborg patrols. I'm glad I packed one mech, since I used it to clear out a capture point to complete that mission. Another time, I completed a capture mission seconds before the enemies that had incapacitated me finished me off.
I hope we get a Super Earth defense mission soon; it looks like the Illuminate front is nearest collapse.

Quiet, you and I are just as guilty.
Make sure your game is set to public and throw an SOS beacon and hope someone joins your game. The population is down quite a bit so not sure how lucky you'll be.

Your game is your lobby as long as you are online; if you have privacy set to "everyone" or "friends", people can join you at any time, both on ship or on a planet. However, default filters are set to only show people already on a mission, so most people won't join you until you actually drop down.
Edit: As stated above, the SOS beacon supposedly helps, although it's not required. People will more often join you if you have already completed a few objectives or missions, for obvious reasons.
Still, the easiest way to multiplayer is simply joining a game with something that interests you.
This is probably the best way to go about it. Just look for games with strategems you need.
There will always be resources to pick up every time you start a mission. You just need to finish the mission to keep the resources you collect.

There's two ways to get resource points: aside from leveling up (limited), you also get one per ten samples you pick up (unlimited). Samples are kept between missions and more difficult missions have many more samples, so it becomes your main resource income pretty early.
Also, as a late newcomer you should add us.

Is this game worth $20? Thinking about getting it for co-op with son. For reference I really liked Dead Nation. Is it kind of like that? Better? Worse?

It is more frantic and more free roaming. The stratagems add depth to the game
My friends and I have been cold on Helldivers lately due to other games but after jumping back in and accessing the armory... 3 trophies popped for me (1 gold, 2 silver) relating to the campaign/war. Thanks Arrowhead for fixing that!

I wish that kills were added to the stats in real-time. I played a round earlier, then i got disconnected at the very end (host migration didnt work). Then i got kicked back to the main menu and i didnt get anything for that round, not even the kills added to the stats. Luckily i have very rarely been disconnected, but it sucks when it happens.
Played a few rounds with a friend yesterday... first rounds after I got lost in some other games. Was a blast, first time I played this game with a real life friend on the couch. What a great experience! Many hilarious moments when we accidently killed ourselves
However... I can't wait for the DLC and some more content, I even wished there would be some kind of PVP as the game mechanics would work really great on that. 2 Teams with 2-4 squads and a base on each side with different objectives. Could work quite well... a man can dream^^

Tried Shareplay with someone here in Austin last night. Worked well. Helldivers disables online play and sets the remote player to "Visitor" for the session.

I also see the player is rank 27 in that video. I'm assuming that confirms new ranks, but is there new equipment to go with them?
I finally caved in and bought the three DLC packs. The Sickle and new rocket launcher are great, especially against the bugs. Not so sure about the two other weapons

Oh, so the tank-like bug and tentacles are actually the same unit. I guess that means exactly one new enemy per faction (i.e. exactly the ones the video shows).

Very LTTP on this one, but I played for the first time last night with a friend.
I love it. The "friendly fire" mechanics where everything that should hurt you, will, are surprisingly great. It's sort of difficult to describe, but everything feels just a little bit more real when every shot and explosive has consequences.
I can't wait to get into a 4-player game so I can fill up all the seats in my new APC.

I'll buy this as soon as it goes live. 4 new reinforcements should be enough to keep me active for a while. Will the specialist pack be available separately, included in the reinforcements bundle 2 or only available to new purchasers?

Not sure yet - Sony is in charge of the sales and the bundling and we have no control over that. However, I can always pass on the feedback to them about the Specialist.
Previously the Ranger bundle was included in the Limited Edition at launch. Later on it became available separately.

Seems like it would make sense to bundle Ranger and Specialist together or make Reinforcements 1 include Ranger and Reinforcements 2 include specialist. I know it's not up to you guys but that's what Sony should do.

It is crossbuy; I got the first pack and I can use it on PS3 and Vita. Sometimes PSN gets confused as to what you have or not; try again later or simply manually synchronize your save, that might help.
