Help Me Place PS4 Camera Properly (For VR)

I know we have a couple of active PSVR threads, but I didn't want to clutter the thread up with too many questions/photos, since I'm not sure how ongoing this problem will be.

So I'm trying to find the ideal spot to place my camera for the PSVR. Here's a photo of the area surrounding my TV:

I marked the three places where I've tried to place the camera. #1 seemed like the best spot with no issues until I started playing games where I had to stand up (like Job Simulator and Batman, even though the latter has a sitting option).

The likely reason is that I simply don't have enough standing space directly in front of my TV, due to my bed being in the way:

Using a measuring tape, the distance between the camera and the furthest I can stand back is less than 5 feet, which likely results in unresponsive reading of move controllers if I turn away too much.

That's why it seems my best bet is to stand up to the side of my bed, where I can stand further back to meet the distance requirements:

The thing is, I'm not sure if I'm supposed to have the camera at an angle at that point. Ideally, what I would love is find a position for the camera where I can leave it where it is, depending on whether I'm playing VR games where I'm standing or sitting.

With that, I'm hoping you can also clear a few things for me:

1. If I'm changing the position of the camera, do I have to run through the advanced calibration setup every single time?

2. For the camera setup where it takes three photos of my face, is the idea to get as close as possible to the camera (right in its face), or to take the photos far back where I would be playing?

3. Same question for the eye-tracking portion of the calibration setup.

4. Is it necessary to face directly in front of the camera at all times?

I hope you can share some ideas so that I can finally find an acceptable medium.

P.S. My room is in a state of clutter due to various things I need to move around, so kindly refrain from criticism. Normally I would have my Amiibos nicely arranged, but the constant camera shifting has made things currently messy.

I may be wrong, but it looks like you have more long space in front of your computer, between the bed and TV -- why don't you put the camera over there when you use it. It doesn't have to be on the TV, it's just easier when calibrating and stuff. That would give you more room to get it working, I would think.

Well first off, the camera's cord wouldn't be able to reach that far (and the PS4 has too many cables connected to stuff for me to move it), unless they sell an extension cable?

Secondly, would that work? Does that mean I would face the camera on the right side of my room instead of in front of my TV?

Throw away tape measure and put camera on your computer desk. This thing is very loosy goosy game by game. They need better tracking system.

Edit: sorry didnt see where you put your ps4. Put cam on shelf.

I find that putting my PS Camera on top of the TV (about chest height) gives me better results than the bottom of the TV (knee height), but that's just for general games, not VR.

Again, where is the camera supposed to face me? It will still work if it's looking at me from an angle?

Just move it to the best position relative to wherever you want to play. I have it hidden away when not in use then move it to various locations depending on where I want to sit, cable is a bit short though. As long as the camera is facing the direction you are primarily intending to be facing and you don't have any light sources interfering there should be no problem. I have used it above me, below me, at the same head height, as long as it can see all the lights it doesn't matter really.
