Oooo the first look at some internals.

Thought that piano black plastic might have something to do with the HDD. Love the screw head.

As some had previously speculated, it looks like the mainboard is hanging down from the top.

Oh wow, I was wondering where the hatch would be. Never considered the whole panel might come off.

Im just curious, can you put an ssd in there and will it help with load times? Probably not, but it would be cool.

So close, I still want to see the rest of the internals!

Yes, just like with the PS3. Hopefully the 4 will support the latest SATA spec.

They should sell custom designed versions of that bit that lifts off.

I'd buy one that isn't glossy and matched the rest of the console.

PS themed screws? Wow, I'm impressed with that tiny detail. I'm also glad that Sony has kept the option to change the HDD, as we already knew.

Hopefully the screws aren't as brittle as the ones in the hard drive bay on the original PS3. I had to hacksaw my own holes into those damn things just to get them out.

Haha, awesome screw.

But anyway, I replaced the HDD on my PS3 with a 320GB as soon as I got it back in 2008. I wonder if 500GB will be enough, because I would hate to have to swap out two years later (hassle of copying data, etc.).

How long before the Chinese slave labour blog posts start? Or is that just Apple?
