Sandy Springs/Dunwoody line here (Perimeter Mall area)...pretty steady stream of snow coming down now.
 
Yeah, we were advised to bring home laptops tonight.

I don't want too much snow... that might mean the gym and restaurants are closed.

The roads were bad from Kennesaw to Roswell, but Roswell seemed mostly OK. The snow is sticking to the ground, but not the roads. I'm one of 4 people who made it in today.

I find it funny that last week, the roads in my area were fine and NO ONE went to work at regular time. This week, the roads were actually bad and a lot more people were giving it the old college try. My work's policy is that the office is always open, so if it snows 2 feet and the roads are impassible, I'm using vacation time. Tonight, I'm going to bring work home with me, just in case.

Rain in Midtown, sleet in Buckhead, and Snow north of the perimeter.

Sounds about right. Don't think traffic ever went over 30 mph this morning, but I didn't see any wrecks, so that's good.
 
Lot of snow up here in Roswell. By time I left for work at 9:45, the roads were fine and melty. Should be fine for rest of day since it's melting now.

But does look like it's suppose to snow again tomorrow. Small chance in afternoon cause of low temps & rain and good chance late tomorrow night. joy.
 
Got quite a bit of snow on my car this morning, but it swept away easily. The roads were wet but otherwise it was fine getting into Norcross. My commute was actually shorter since there wasn't as much morning traffic.
 
Cobb county can go fuck themselves by canceling schools when my little cousin was already there. Thanks for ruining my morning dickheads.
 
FYI Battle and Brew is having their grand opening at the new location on Friday, March 13th. I will probably be hitting that up. Anyone else?

Hm, that sounds pretty cool, didn't know about it till you mentioned it. I actually work in Sandy Springs so I'd be down to go there after work. That'd honestly be the perfect place for Atlanta GAF to meet up.

edit: looks like they have an event called industry night. Might be a good place to do some networking as well.

Yeah, they really screwed the pooch on that one. We were up and about to walk out the door and I decided to check the cobb k12 site and saw it was delayed. Then 2 hours later they finally cancel it. This is after the fiasco last week where we had school cancelled for 2 days and nothing hit the ground. Any one could have looked outside their window this morning at 6 am and said "no... no, let the kids stay home. Going out is a BAD idea". Instead they don't do it till almost 7 am.

Who is responsible for determining if things will be closed?
 
driving to sandy springs from alpharetta on friday night sounds like hell :/

so is battle and brew more like karaoke but for games? a bit hard to tell from the site.

I think the superintendent makes the final call early in the morning when a few drivers/news check the roads.

Thank god. If only Thursday is cancelled too because I have a test I am definitely not ready for.

yeah our office didn't send anything out. they'll probably make us come in then make us leave around noon so i can spend the rest of the day in traffic

Thinking I'll see if I can work from home tomorrow. And then just spend all day under the covers.

Because goddamn driving up 400 this morning made me want to murder someone. Probably half the cars past Buckhead were driving with chunks of snow and ice on them. Seriously you morons? Gonna cause a wreck.
 
Yeah I'm taking marta to there to pick up the person, but then I have to drive them to Marietta. I'm hoping they just cancel her flight.

Where are they coming in from? Airlines are more likely to cancel the short flights so the longer ones can use the gates.
