If you're addicted to extreme sugar drinks you're on your way to being fat even if you aren't at the finish line quite yet.
You could always just get the ones that are tea with bubbles, and forego the sugar.

ITT we find out which people live in areas with small asian populations.
The bubbles are either tapioca, nata de coco, or some other sugared concoction. While the exact calories and fat vary depending on what's used (and at least nata de coco has a lot of fiber), it's still plenty of calories even before considering any in the beverage itself. You could always just get the ones that are tea with bubbles, and forego the sugar.

There's this thing called "moderation" that (some) people, like the OP and myself, choose to exercise. If you're addicted to extreme sugar drinks you're on your way to being fat even if you aren't at the finish line quite yet.
For the longest time I thought this stuff was called "Boba Tea"

Hey, I like it
Too bad the only bubble tea here is awful. I want some of that buckwheat tea from Ten Ren
Fuck this "BOBA" bullshit. What a ridiculous word. I can't stand the sound of it.
It's Bubble Tea, because the tapioca represent "bubbles" in the tea.
The stuff can be delicious at the right place, but I haven't had it in years. Way too much sugar and other junk for human consumption.
No one around here calls it bubble tea.
Definitely dont have an issue with calories. I weigh like 117 pounds and have super high metabolism. I just want to try this stuff. Just placed an order at a wingstop and the place is next door so no excuse not to try it.
Up here in Seattle, "bubble tea" definitely seems to be the norm.
Regardless of that, "boba" seems to originate from the Chinese 波霸, which also apparently is used to refer to "big tits".
Enjoy your "big tits tea", boba people.
You say that like it's a bad thing.
Hell yes. I grew up in Arcadia, so I grew up with Tapioca Express. So good. I moved further south, but I am going back soon to get some. Got my girlfriend hooked on this stuff. There's also this:

Well, as a Chinese guy, nice butts are harder to find than boobs.
ON TOPIC: None of my Chinese friends call it boba... either in Chinese or English.
edit: my favorite is the classic milk tea + tapioca.
I'll check those out. Where are they?Tapioca Express is shit. Ten Ren or Tea Station FTW.

You mean boba milk tea right?
I don't know why some places call it bubble but whatever.
Yeah its called Boba for sure...since its what Taiwan (where the drinks originate from) calls it.
Here in California- its called Boba in SoCal and Pearl in NorCal from my experience. Kinda funny, i've gotten into arguements over this.
