She was a leader of the original Ebisu Muscats, a mind-boggling AV/gravure j-pop group (and I just found out there is a new version, though not a fan of their last video). Yuma retired from AV after a bout with cancer, and continues to make music without much success. I respect the hustle, though, and now in her mid-30s she's adorable as ever.

I honestly blame her idiot loser boyfriend that she did most of her first scenes and was also in her group work in the middle of her career, until she finally got rid of him. Apparently he was quite controlling and took a majority of her money. Cant find the article that claimed that right now though.

Porn work in general isnt as glorious as many believe. People tend to forget that in order to be a porn actor you have to actually be an actor. With all the stress and crap that comes with that.
Also actors in generall dont have time to get any real pleasure from the sex. Not when you have to constantly remember where you are supossed to be every second so the audience actually can see anything.

Unless you're an A list porn star you don't even make much money per shoot. A lot of porn actresses actually do escorting on the side becuse it pays way more for an hours work and they can charge a "Fuck a real porn star" premium for their services. The videos basically become a trailer for their escorting.

Case in point. In Japan you can also book AV/gravure performers for photoshoots, which can include location, wardrobe, and equipment. Their current roster is quite small, however, presumably due to covid. Sessions run for around $300 per 45min for a mid-level actress, and judging by the schedule it's actually a pretty grueling 12-hour shift (though undoubtly much less so than filming for what I'm guessing is similar pay).

That's been around for a long time, I've seen pictures of those photoshoots in China. 4-5 photgraphers in a hotel room crowding round the model or taking pictures of her (clothed) in a park. I don't know if the guys all chipped in for her rate or all had to pay the same.
