HL 2 gets an update - everything in Korean - Means nothing, as usual

Can we update the OP with whatever is being discussed in the 6 pages here? I saw the Korean translation but it seems like you guys are talking about something else.

Valve accidentally makes all Half-Life 2 audio Korean, everyone thinks it's a HL3 ARG.

Honestly, at this point, what do you expect?

The whole Portal 2 ARG in Portal was pretty cool, and knowing Valve, they aren't just going to announce the next Half-Life with a banner on Steam.
 
The sad thing about following this thread just to laugh at the people who believe is that I'm starting to believe myself.

This will all end in tears.
 
I consider figuring out which little thing is the start of the HL3 ARG to be part of the HL3 ARG. So guys - WE ARE ALL PLAYING THE HL3 ARG RIGHT NOW
 
Oh wait. I know. I know. They're merely going for a tour to Valve to see how it works and nothing else.

The HL3 is just a JOKE. Lets all go home guys, lets not waste our hype in yet another Half Life update.

FPS changed too much for Valve to continue the style they followed

Half Life 1 is my favourite FPS of all time, but it's of a time gone by.
Half Life 3 could come as an improvement over Half Life 1, Half Life 2 and a great cinematic experience and still be a commercial failure due not being CoD

Do we really want that?

Spoiler alert: Unlike Future stablemate Edge, the picture on PCGamer's "Next Issue" page is a joke and has no relevance to the following issue. I would have thought floor 9 being "Basically just a big room full of knives" would have been enough of a giveaway.

I think you might be right. At this point people won't be satisfied unless HL3 basically reinvents the genre down to it's core and is so good that it changes it forever.

And even then you would have disappointed fans who just wanted another Half Life.

I'd honestly be fine if HL3 doesn't reinvent the wheel. As long as I think it's a good game, I'll be satisfied.
 
So in the properties -> betas tab of games on steam it has a place to input a code for 'private betas'. Obviously this isn't new but wouldn't it be a perfect system for an ARG?

I don't know why people think this is the case.

The game just needs to be on the level of Episode 2, really.
 
What are the chances that HL3 is near completion? I think it is.

edit: But seriously, think about it. It has been over 5 years since episode two, and HL3 is probably the most anticipated PC game. Valve would be out of their minds not to have worked on it already.
