Holiday Exclusives Showdown: PS3 vs. 360

L4D2 is a pretty huge console exclusive for the 360 judging by the sales of the first one that suprised me noting there is both a huge 360 and PC audience for this game.
 
Sony has got to have GT5 for this year. I think they have to have something for November or December. They have nothing...

I only own one of these consoles, so in the interest of maintaining the idea that the other console and any exclusives it offers are rotting garbage unfit for consumption by the lowest dregs of sentient life, I'll spread some nice FUD and troll the living hell out of anything the opposition offers up.

So help me, I will not abide a single person to state they enjoyed *console exclusive* when the console in question isn't mine.

I hadn't realized until this thread that they don't have anything for Christmas...then again neither does Microsoft. :P

:o Sony putting all their monies behind the casual waggle wand confirmed.
 
I think the titles mentioned in the opening post for 360 will achieve greater sales success and overall greater critical acclaim than those mentioned for PS3.
Uncharted 2 is looking like the PS3's big title this 'holiday' to me, I feel it has the best chance of both great sales and great critical acclaim compared to the other Sony exclusives. If GT5 hits this year, things would look more even.

The reason I say Sony is stacking October is because they have something for November or December.

It doesn't make sense to me otherwise.

:lol :lol Left 4 Dead is only 1 year old.

But you have to give ODST *some* credit. Sure, its probably overpriced, but it isn't just more of the same.
 
Demon's Souls means the PS3 wins for me. Anyone who imported the game knows how awesome it is. The 360's line up this holiday is pretty disappointing though (IMO).

So, what are Sony and Ninty riding if not the sequel train? Everyone's always riding that riding that one...it's just that half of 'em decided to take the late trains when you look at what got delayed 'til next year...virtually all sequels. XBLA/PSN are where it's at these days, and there's still plenty of sequels and remakes to be had there, too. Whether it's a console, handheld, or PC...most everything is a sequel or remake (of a sequel) these days.

EyePet is releasing November 17th. People that got excited for the Natal demos this summer should look into that one.

People always say stuff like this, but honestly, assuming Sony does have GT5 this year, what else would you like both companies to have? Between the exclusives and 3rd party games, there is only so much room in the holiday space. It doesn't make sense to trot out countless games to suffocate in the market.

People honestly think UC2 will be better than ODST? I'm fairly certain they're both going to be on an equal level of awesome. As far as quality goes, the systems look pretty similar. Sales wise, ODST will be the top exclusive.

Awesome game that hardly anyone will buy. See Chronicles, Valkyria.

Well pre order numbers are 50-60kish. That's not bad for a game like this. Word of mouth will ride this game for years.

Well, knowing it'll tank sales-wise just about wraps it up for any interest I had in the actual game!

I'm not assuming GT5 is coming. If it is, then it would be a decent lineup. Honestly Forza 3, Uncharted 2 and the possibility of GT5 are the only things that stand out to me. I'll get MW2 and L4D2 on PC...
 
In the face of Ratchet, I kinda wish 360 had a platfomer with color. That's whats lacking in the 360 in comparison to the PS3 this holiday IMO.
 
Like most showdowns of this type, the winner is entirely determined by one's personal tastes and how you define "exclusive".
 
Doesn't MS have Natal for the holidays?
I'm sure there will be quite a few new titles for the launch...

But Ps3 has the best upcoming games imo.
The only X360 game I'm looking forward to is Forza 3. I'm not interested in (mainly) online multiplayer titles like L4D2 or ODST.
Not a fan of online gaming.

Natal is out next holiday with first party support from Rare.
 
PS3 wins my heart this holiday with Ninja Gaiden and import Final Fantasy XIII. But I think the ps3 will not fair as well do to Microsofts marketing and because everyone is just going to be playing/buying MW2.
 
As others have stated, I don't see any hardware drivers this season. I think they're both on cruise control.
