Home Integration for Uncharted & Resistance! 2D Uncharted Side Scroll Shooter!

I wonder how many people can go to the user room, and how many home accounts allow for one PS3?

If it is a good number, then there will be sort of "3rd party" game support because it is possible to make a fan-site like some clan for room/rooms for specially game.
At least it will allow making virtual chat room and jump-on online game.
Maybe they should make a white-board with pen interactive by webcam or stick. So this will be useful for Clan team or anything possible.

Clan always can buy PS3 another for server home to make a game fan-site or Clan team room.

The mangod will be pleased.

i'm thinking a lot of this was news he was thinking was going to be announced at GDC. I recall in one of the 1up yours podcasts Shane & Bryan both mentioned they anticipated several different Sony news items to be announced then, and were suprised they were so quiet. Its looking like they just waited a week

The entire 360 userbase being insulted according to some sensitive posters, the rest of us are having fun and enjoying the news.

In short, the usual around here.

there's one thing i don't understand .

how home gonna allow a smooth navigation when every now and then , new game spaces will be added , wouldn't that require you to update home by constantly downloading the new spaces , or i'm out of the loop ?

could someone enlighten me on this matter ?

So, what is the status of video sharing in your home? I realize that it probably won't be ready when the public beta launches, but that feature hasn't been removed right?

this shouldn't be shocking to any1, from day1 this has always been the THING that made home special. BUT - it is cool to see it actually coming to a head.

awesome news, the warhawk stuff in particular. they could even put this sandtable thing as a interactive item to put in yr own apartment .. that would be sweet.

it's great sony 1st parties are leading the way here - setting the standard, and more importantly, gamer expectations.

we all half expect some kinda online element in our games .. well now ps3 owners will be expecting home intergration along this level from all the big titles .. and really ..why wouldn't you want to if you where a 3rd party?

i was about to sell my copy of R1 ... think i'll pull my auction now. 1ply adventure games like uncharted ... games which lend them selves to just rentals ... with unlockable home content to keep you playing, really adds value.

and these home areas that the devs can set up ..GREAT advertising oppertunities, really is...even more accessable than a demo is really .. if you're walking through home and you see the uncharted zone ... so easy just to wlk on in and look around .. far more tempting than a banner on the psn store asking to download 1gig worth of demo sw.

john on 1up yours was tlaking about these java and flash based web games being the future of pc gaming .. well these area's in Home offer the same thing ... every one on home has access to these bite sized interactive experiences .. they can just drift around home sampling all these things, and if they want more ..and then go download the full game or go buy the blu-ray.

home is going to be HUGE ... just like the blu ray issue the gaming press is going to flip flop and be prasing this as a master stroke .. and one that obviously would take MS years if ever to catch up with.

I'm going to stay out of the whole debate of the comic itself, but what I think has to be emphasized is how funny the expression is on his face in the last panel.

It just is perfect and it's his face that makes me laugh every time I see it :lol

(btw, the above image is avatar sized if anyone wants it)

I'll have to go back and look at this comic people keep talking about, but holy shit @ the OP. Home sounds a lot better thn I thought. I really hadn't envisioned it as anything more than Sims meets chat. PEACE.

Wollen also said there will be software emulation announced for PS2 games. He is not off the hook in my book yet. :)
If he didn't say when, it's very hard for him to be wrong on this one :P

why are certain fans feeling "insulted" around here? Wasnt Sony and fans bashes all last year?(most of the time anyways) "PS3 aint worth it", "its a grill", "Ken kutaragi is crazy", "blu ray will fail", "its eats all your electric bill" and the famous "IT HAS NO GAMES".etc...etc

So all you haters that are being Pnwd right now, please take it like a man. We Sony fans have had enough and we would like to enjoy all these great news coming about this week. If you cant take a little joke, GTFO.

Because you don't need the game to use it? Because it brings in people who wouldn't normally be able to access the content without buying the game? And that in turn is awesome advertising.

^ Playstation Home brilliance in nutshell

The Uncharted stuff in particular has me quite interested, but I am skeptical 3rd parties are going to put the time and effort to do something even close to that cool with Home. Prove me wrong, 3rd parties, prove me wrong.

Finally I can illustrate Warhawk tactics to those too slow to catch on to words! :lol

Resistance and Uncharted sound good too.

For the new spaces they need some sort of RSS feed and background downloading of the new spaces. I would gladly install EVERY new area if it could d/l while I slept and was there in the morning, but I don't want a 50MB download every time I want to check out a new area. I just want it to be there.

It's looking amazing, though.

It'd be good if Sony could get a dedicated group to make basic areas for developers. Sort of like a middle-man

I seriously doubt levels are going to be large. Home downloads will hopefully be really small in filesize, much like Little Big Planet levels

Probably, but even the areas now are any where from 20-45MB in size or so. Sure, they only take a few minutes to download, but I'd rather just have them download and install in the background. I'd imagine that what some developers will do with their spaces will go far beyond the few areas that are out now.
