So Phil's replacement is gonna be some dude named Phil Harrisons. What a coincidence! :D

Love the pic btw.

I'm sitting right behind Wollan and TTP...

Please remove your hats, gentlemen.

I don't mind sitting behind the Euros. They're good people. At least I am seated well away from the drunken "Kitty from Kanadia"...

hahaha, I'm in there, and I don't know why. :lol. I can feel the love. Why is my name green though? :(

I should actually be up there presenting GoW3, not sitting down below. I kid, I kid.

Can't wait to do the review of MGS4. It's gonna be epic

...was clearly out-of-bounds, and clearly not "responding in kind" in any way.

Someone suggesting a mere rolling of the eyes at someone's comments and someone getting enraged and actually throwing multiple personal insults around are two completely different things, by any reasonable measure.

I'm not denying that he upped the ante. I'm just saying that I got no problem with calling someone "lame as fuck" if all they can contribute is rolleyes. I'm sure that you're aware that there's a reason why that emoticon is banned on this forum.

I'm surprised that you actually claim to not be able to see the difference, since you seem to post some intelligent stuff from time to time, including you long post in this thread.

I never claimed to not notice the difference, in fact, I didn't even comment on the differences to begin with. All I said that I'm cool with calling a "rolleyes" dude a "fool". Some of it got personal, but "fool" and "lame as fuck" are pretty general, and I think they do describe the "rolleye response" very well. I quoted those statements in particular so people wouldn't confuse that with the rest of his post. But I guess it happened anyways!

I'm not surprised that you are defending him though. It seems to be your gimmick on GAF for some reason I fail to fathom, so I guess you have to stick to it. We'll just have to agree to disagree, and let the written record speak for itself.

It should be pretty clear why I defended him, I've seen in so many of these threads people jumping on someone's throats because they disagree with them. Instead of bringing up a good counter-argument, they just pull bullshit like the rolleyes thing. I've consistently defended such people, no matter what the topic is...so I'm sure it's not a surprise for you, but if you didn't know my motives, there it is.

Anyways, this little digression is going a bit far...back to the topic at hand...

I really, really hope the next G.A.M.E. release occurs on Home. G.A.M.E. 2 should be out in June, hopefully there's a public beta by then over here.

By introducing a potential consumer to the 'universe' of the game? E.g. one might go into the Resistance space, listen to some 'lost' audio messages between characters in the game, see the artwork etc. and think "hmm, i like this game's style", or "hmm..i want to find out more" or whatever. I think you could certainly communicate far more about a game using a Home space, in subtle and enjoyable ways, than say you might in a magazine ad.

How a 30 sec TV spot or a one page ad in a VG magazine sells a game ?

Well that's the thing. When I think of the potential that these spaces have to get sales, I see it as providing something to draw them to the area and then bombarding them with traditional media (streaming game ads). Sure, there's the possiblity of something truly engaging that traditional ads can't replicate; but if these spaces are meant to be consumed en mass I really don't think they are going to leave a lasting impression all on their own.

So I downloaded the update (finally) and I have to say I'm really impressed with the direction and all the new bells and whistles. The downloads for the other areas are fast and relativley small. I'm actually looking forward to being able to, you know, actually see people in there at some point :lol

Can you say how small?

I want to be in the pic too :( Anyways this news is crazy. I always liked Home but this is certainly much more than I expected.

Many Home haters, as of this day, have been wollowned.

iceatcs, absolutely brilliant idea and picture! :lol

Guys. Just think of it. LittleBigPlanet is going to have lip-synced characters with voice chat. That would be so cool if you could slip into a LBP costume and chat in that kind of world just in Home.

You know I had an idea similar to that. A virtual E3 would be unbelievable! Seriously, but my idea was like you could have a theater in which you go to with some friends. It would be set up a lot like that and a bunch of people can join, etc. It would be a fun experience. Anyways, anyway I can join that picture? I'll definitely be right there with you guys if the time comes.

How about a space made to look like the Sony E3 booth with the same trailers running and perhaps access to download demos too?

Then E3 would almost become public again (though gaming sites would lose a lot of traffic... Mwuhahaha).
