Chris Brody is so useless. He went with Jessica to pick up Dana, right? Did they show him come into Mikes house or did he just sit out in the car? lol

I enjoyed the episode overall. Really curious to see where they go with it now.

That's a thing with Showtime shows I watch. Do you watch Dexter? They only care about the daughter too.

Youre right. Astor always gets the spotlight over Cody.

Chris Brody is just amazing though. He vanishes for entire episodes and then they finally show him and his only line is to ask Dana to come into the house or something.
It really feels like the writers forgot he existed until someone brought it up to them so now they tack him into a few episodes here or there and give him a shitty line or two about something stupid.

Yesterdays was good: "Hey Mike! Were beating Miami by 5! Can you believe it!" and BAM done. Collect your paycheck on the way out.

Fry - do you have time to put together a proper Saul facepalm gif?

As usual, the tumblr version I found is lacking:

I liked the show better when it was about "Is he good? Is he bad? Is he good? Who's bad? What's the play?"

Now it's just Carrie and Brody fuckity fuck fuck fuck and Brody's wife whining and the daughter mumbling stuff and being the teenage rebel and hitting people with cars and "Oh yeah!! There's an attack!! Uh....WE GOTTA HURRY UP CUZ SOMETHING ABOUT AN ATTACK!!"

I dunno, I'm usually doing something else while I watch nowadays.

My feelings exactly. I'm still watching but the thrill is gone :(

There you go:

This scene was hilarious. But the follow up line from Quinn was even better:

'I am listening and I'm hearing a bad idea that you wouldn't entertain in a million years if it wasn't for your personal attachment to a terrorist you were boning last night.' :lol

That sex scene between Carrie and Brody was pretty hot.
Pretty hot or pretty fake?

The show makes it really difficult to root for anyone right now and not in a good way. In season one, despite her flaws, you could still root for Carrie because she obviously was onto something, but now everyone is just annoying. What was the point of the motel scene? Brody needed a good fuck to think straight again? Dana is at Mike's for no other reason than them wanting to keep both actors around. Estes doesn't really seem to care anymore, agent douchebag suddenly sounds tame. Not even Virgil got any good lines.

I don't know. A few episodes ago I felt the show was moving too fast and turning into 24, now it feels like they are spending too much time on storylines I don't care about. Maybe it's just me but I really hope they start season 3 with a fresh storyline and without Brody. Doubt it though.

I saw one of the sneak peaks. I swear if we're going to have to watch Dana fucking cry and whine and bitch about everything at the worst possible times then I'll seriously just stop watching. It's THAT annoying.

I thought they were trying to portray her as mature for her age or something. Time to grow up, kid.

I know this show is done by the 24 people so we will definitely have these cougar-esque plot lines but Danas feels different to me.....like something is going to happen to her now as a result of all this.

They do need to move past it though. Im getting tired of it despite liking Dana.

The motel sex was hilarious. Thought it was just a subtle fade while letting us know the CIA were listening, then BOOM SEX ON THE COUNTER TOP

This show went from great to hilarious nonsense pretty quickly. Had to skip through the sex scene and the stuff before, cringeworthy acting and dialogue.

30 second skip ahead is all that makes this show watchable for me because of that nonsense skip over Brody wife bitching too

The sex scene was so fucking hilarious, couldn't stop laughing at Quinn and Saul's reaction. Then Carrie just walks in the next day and everyone gives her a look. That was good enough for me.

I do wish the show went back to its roots of the more mundane side of espionage (especially since they went back to that Aileen storyline), but it seems its full blown Brody/Carrie drama now. Carrie's good enough to carry this show on her own; I'm coming around to the idea that Brody has to be done at the end of the season. Give him redemption, then kill him or write him off with a happy ending.

I'm not getting the impression that Carrie is enough to carry the show. If I have any excitement at all this season, every single bit of it has to do with Brody and the situation he is in.

well that might just have to do with the immediacy of Brody and the threat against America. I just think they played their cards too soon in this season; I know they're all about "if we can tell it now, tell it now" philosophy, which is admirable, but maybe a bit misguided. The show built up to the Weekend in a way that I just feel every episode since Q&A hasn't been able to top because that was the cathartic moment. But then the Weekend ended with them separating, but Q&A ended with them back together. So, now what? Oh, the plot (that we still now absolutley nothing about, so hey, let's pass the time with Dana instead).

I dunno, maybe I'm in the minority on this (probably not on the Brody thing given how many people wanted him to die last season), but I think Carrie and Saul have a great relationship, I want to see more of Estes too, Quinn is great so far too, and I think that's a cast that can be relied upon to go in a different direction in Season 3. Brody's family is quickly becoming an anchor to this show that the writers rely on because the main plot is moving so damn slowly. Didn't they bomb those facilities a couple months ago by now?

edit: Also, I will have zero qualms about Brody surviving the end of Season 1 and will forgive most of the contrivances of S2 if he completes his arc. That's the main thing I want because ending his life in that bunker did not seem like a satisfying resolution to his character, even if it would have been a satisfying resolution to the season/plot.

I cannot see how the show could continue without Brody.

Even though Carrie is a compelling character, her only use to the CIA now is to handle Brody. If he were gone, why would they use her at all?

I'm still watching. Trying hard to care about this show ever since Brody was exposed. I just don't anymore. He should be dead or in a secret prison.

Because she was right and (presumably) helped stop an attack on America? When Estes and co. failed? I mean, that's reason enough to reinstate her. I would've been fine with four, five seasons with Brody but it's clear that, at this speed, they're running out of plot, and fast. Only worry with a Carrie only lead (and presumably another threat to investigate of a much different nature, so not another love interest please) is that she could easily turn into a Jack Bauer where no one believes her despite the fact that she's always right. That's lazy and stupid. But I have faith that the writers can come up with a convincing direction to take this series, with or without Brody.

And her insubordination would be reason enough to boot her ass out again.

Once her value running Brody is gone, there's no reason to trust her again.

She isn't. Brody has always been the only interesting part of the show. A show that just had Carrie mewling around, going on wacky adventures and foiling terrorist plots with Inigo Montoya the gentle father figure wouldn't be a show I'd care to watch.

It's a tv show and she's the main character. Do you really think they're going to boot her ass again?

It's a TV show and Brody is the main character, do you really think they'll kill him off?

My whole supposition is that both of them are sticking around. Neither one is leaving. One, Brody is as central to the story as she is (and Damien Lewis racking up accolades keeps him desirable to the showrunners, too) and two, if Brody were to go, it would stretch credibility further to have Carrie stay with the CIA.

Ergo, nobody is going anywhere.

Good episode. Ending was very tense, I actually thought it possible they would kill off Brody.

Dana hot as usual.

The negativity in this thread is starting to annoy me. Did people already forget the AMAZING interrogation scene with Brody and Carrie earlier in this season?

I am enjoying these middle episodes this season more than last season.

Too many whiners in here.

I can take or leave the 24 type stylings and I do like how the show has accelerated things this season but I will be interested in how they can get around stretching this premise out for another season.

I said it before, the Carrie and Brody romance is too much this season.

Also the scene where Quinn gives an okay for Carrie to follow was just the bigger face palm. And Saul's convo with Estes was hilarious and mirrored the snl parody perfectly.

I'm just waiting for Chris to walk in while Dana is throwing one of her usual annoying rebellious fits and just yell "WILL YOU SHUT THE FUCK UP." and then have him disappear for another few episodes.

She's being rebellious because she was an accessory to a hit and run, tells her Mum and Dad about (her role models) it after feeling guilty as all hell, wants to go to the Police but her Dad won't let her?

Not getting the hate for Dana or for the show.

Carrie is getting a little annoying, but that is down to the fact that the other CIA guys just seem to be letting her get away with dumb shit in the name of, "well she was right once".

It is still delivering on the intense espionage thing and the reintroduction of Abu Nazir as a direct protagonist is interesting.

Think about it, the most wanted terrorist in the world is on US soil. Add that too the imminent attack and this shit is about to get going in a big way.

I predict a successful attack in the final episode.

I also loved how Carrie didn't seem to even care what they thought.

Just because the first part of a season is amazing doesn't mean that the weak sub-storylines introduced in this middle part should be excused. This whole hit and run storyline has been terrible and the storyline with Mike investigating Brody hasn't been much better.

The main terrorist storyline and the interaction between Brody and Carrie still remains the best thing about this show, even if Carrie is starting to get repetitive and annoying with how crazy she is.

Eh, I haven't been feeling this show for the last few episodes. I hate how stupid Carrie is acting - how she's constantly disobeying her orders and no one even seems to care. I hate that Carrie + Brody is a thing now. fucking bleh. Jessica will probably divorce him for lying about Carrie, so they can <3 finally <3 be together! <3 I can't wait for the Carrie + Dana tension at the family Thanksgiving dinner in season 3! ugh and speaking of Dana - I hate how she's become, like, the third main character. I hope Abu Nazir kills her.

The last few episodes have felt so stagnant - we haven't even moved past the "THERE'S GOING TO BE AN ATTACK ON AMERICA LIKE TOMORROW!!" It feels like the show has lost all forward momentum.

That SNL parody was incredibly accurate - it's almost as if it wasn't even a parody at all.
