I don't want Brody to die but I'm 100% for his family dying, or at least a member, possibly 2.

Preferably the wife. Then I can have even more Brody/Carrie.

Bawling Curled Up In Fetal Position Carrie is best Carrie

I really enjoyed season 1 of Homeland but I was so soured by the ending that I haven't payed any attention to the new season yet. I have no idea how its being received, so I'm looking for a quick yay or nay on whether I should give it a shot.

Definitely.

^yay.

Well...it is Carrie giving the safety assurance.

And we know what happen when she did that.

Oh shit, yeah. Anytime she gives someone an assurance, they get shot or blown up or something.

I don't know why people get soured by the season 1 ending.

I was fine with it. Season 1 had a fantastic ending. And if it hadn't ended like that, we wouldn't have had this amazing episode between Carrie and Brody.

I find it hilarious that the only person that calls Brody by his first name is a murderous terrorist mastermind. It's just funny.

I think it was great casting on Abu Nazir. I look at him and think 'what a fucking boss'.

Wish we see more of him in the upcoming episodes.

Given how shitty HBO's current dramas are (outside of Treme of course), why?

HBO is pretty weak in terms of quality programming right now.

I thought you liked Enlightened?

Besides, the only shitty drama HBO has right now is The Newsroom. The others aren't "shitty" no matter how you can spin them!

Dexter has never been better than mediocre.

That it has heretofore been Showtime's signature show speaks to the overall quality of Showtime's programming.

Boardwalk, True Blood, and Game of Thrones are all mediocre at best. From the channel that gave us The Wire, Deadwood, The Sopranos and Six Feet Under they are a joke. HBO has lost it in the drama department.

Enlightened does rule though and Veep is decent.

Have you not heard of Boardwalk Empire, or merely not yet seen it?

(Also, Game of Thrones)

Insert whichever "befuddled, shocked reaction" .gif you prefer

(Also, True Blood is kind of an acquired taste that is deliberately ridiculous and campy and if it's taken as it's intended - a comedy practically, it's a pretty good show.)

Would it be possible for Carrie to just burst into that debrief and be like “Hey, you started without me!”?

Nelson: She wouldn’t be in that building unescorted, no matter what clearances she once had. Even if she did get away from her escort, doors are locked—you wouldn’t be able to move that freely around and walk into a room. That’s not a CIA thing, that’s a Department of Defense, DHS, anything. You can’t walk into the Pentagon, just open a door, and walk in.
That settles that then.

S3 spoiler:

Brody finally breaks down admitting to have doubled on the CIA and it's because "he is the only one to call me by my name!"

I'm guessing that was intentional for S1 though. First name basis means intimacy, and last name means distance. Most of the time anyway.

I didn't laugh one time during the whole first season. Each time I watched it, I wished I could get the time back.

Your opinions though, damn unfortunate.

It's not that weird. Isn't it established they met when they were young or in school? If that's what everyone called him then, these things just stick.

But he has no reason to take out Nazir other than the fact that CIA is forcing him to cooperate with them to take him down.
well if nazir is planning on attack on america then Brody wouldn't want that. He already said no innocents.

Then why did he save Nazir at the last minute during the CIA ambush? He already knew Nazir already had some kind of plan for attack on america, and yet he still saved him.

He isn't willing to kill innocents.

Because he's still broken and semi-brainwashed. But I think the more time spent with Carrie, the more that will erode.

I get the feeling that there might be a twist where Nazir found out about the drone strike ahead of time and let it happen anyway in order to fully control Brody.
