Horizon Zero Dawn - Gameplay Trailer | PS4 Pro 4K

Probably doesn't have enough bitrate since 4k can do more than the other res.

It's running at 30FPS.

No, it depends on how much bitrate you use with 4k as it can use a lot, but yeah other sites with 4k should have higher bitrate.

You're right, the game is 30FPS

That mainly matters for lower than 4k, it seems that the bitrate for 30 and 60FPS in 4k is similar, like 20000 kbps.

Same as the above.

I know this stuff since I make vids on youtube and tested out how much bitrate 4k can have at both 30 and 60FPS.

Nice to know. Thanks for the info!

On teh game: This footage looks so clean. If the 1080pro version has any kind of supersampling it will be glorious.

Here's the 4K screens Sony just released.

I need a 4k TV.

Watching that clip in full I think it might be the best looking game I've ever seen. Guerilla are god damn wizards.

I don't know. It just looks really stupid.

Like a blue hedgehog who can run really fast stupid? Or a plumber who jumps on turtles stupid? Or an assassin who dives into hay bales from an enormous height stupid? Videogames are stupid. There's a rare few that aren't incredibly silly. In comparison to 99.9% of other games the lack of friction burns really isn't a thing. If it upsets you, fair enough.

Looks really great. Climbing and movement in general reminds me a lot of Assassin's Creed. No complaints from me on that front - AC has always nailed traversal animations.

I know it's still several months away, but it's always a pleasant surprise when I remember that this game is seeing the light of day sooner rather than later.

Such a vivid and beautiful looking world, but seems pretty limited in ways we can actually interact with the world, outside of killing, looting, and climbing.

Like some have mentioned, that whole sequence was just the typical open world tower climb to reveal markers on a map.

The IQ for games are becoming more picturesque, the worlds more open, but the game worlds are sterile, which ultimately diminishes the immersion.

there are town and villages also, you interact with npc and do quests etc. there's still a lot we haven't seen from this game.

also, does this video confirm there will be Uncharted 4 esque grappling hook/swinging? that'd be super amazing if true

Outside of killing, looting and climbing, what other type of interaction would you like to see?

Just more unique means to interact with the game world. In subtle, context sensitive ways.
I personally feel it would actually supplement those core mechanics of taking out enemies, and looting ( that likely make up most of the game), making the gameplay feel less repetitive.

When the imagery becomes that detailed, I naturally want to have more agency as the character living in that world.

Really really glad to see that more deva are introducing wind against the trees in their games like the witcher 3. It just makes the setting look more real to me.

Almost thinking of getting a ps4 just for this game, looks like it could be amazing.

Doesn't look like native 4K. I'm guessing they're using that checkerboard rendering that was shown in those leaks. It does look very sharp downscaled to 1080p, though.

even watching it on my 50inch 4ktv at 2-3 meter or so, the game still looks really clean and sharp. both Horizon and Mass Effect.

I used to think that upscaling is just buzzword, but seems like it really have an effect to image quality.

My bandwith can't keep up with the video and my computer isn't fast enough so it ends up stuttering and skipping a lot.

...

aaand my browser just crashed.

So, for those that can watch in 4K.

Does it look like it's the same as before but at a higher resolution or is it technically loads better across the board?

Wow, that looks gorgeous!

Maybe I will pick up a Pro after all.

And trade in my current XBO for the S as a media device.

This and Spiderman were the most impressive things visually, the rest? pretty MEH, but this shit is absolutely incredible, best looking open world game ever.

Need to see this gameplay scene on a regular PS4 though just to see how big the difference is, at least through Youtube.

That much I know. Still feels too conventional. Talk to npcs get a bit of info on some secret treasure or tasked with a fetch quest or two.
I agree that it works for the most part, but I can't deny that I yearn for more agency or creative means to interact with a game world, as that charcater naturally would.

I'm concern that the game world feels too picturesque, almost like set dressing. Hopefully GG delivers a more engaing experience with Horizon in that regard. Don't get me wrong, I expect a solid game regardless.

Holy nitpick, Batman!
It's not a nitpick, I expect to see that animation many times during the course of the game. No one would complain if they removed it in a newer build and replaced it with her using a tool to get down. Like the conveniently placed white paint it's really gamey and jarring.
