This probably explains why the time of day and weather transitions seem so sudden sometimes.

Interesting read and I wondered that about the fast transitions: it was so deliberate I figured there had to be some design idea behind it.
Now I wish they'd asked Attenborough to lend some voice work.
Actually a mash up of his voice work over the machines just going about their business would be terrific.

Ask and ye shall receive, brother.

Check the YouTube link I put a few posts above. Someone used a voice changer and Attenboroughs style of talking to make a Horizon one. That would be awesome.. Can someone video edit?
Yup. Base PS4 with no edits. And if I'm not completely mistaken, those gifs are from the base PS4 as that's what Sunhilegend has, I think anyway.
OP didn't even post my favorite Sunhigifs.
the game looks good but it didn't blow my mind or anything. lol at people buying a PS4 Pro and a 4K tv for this.
I might buy a PS4 for this game.
I think it looks amazing and allows you to play even during the night. Not sure what you're on about. Did you miss the whole part of BBC-realism?Can someone elaborate on the reason for the world to appear so 'green' at night...like looking through low quality night-vision googles?
OK, so now I understand the rapid shift in time from day to night is required. Fine.
Can someone elaborate on the reason for the world to appear so 'green' at night...like looking through low quality night-vision googles? It's disturbingly horrid and completely at odd's with the rest of the games visual make-up. I wish they just let nature's light take it's course.
Its unbelievable. What's so amazing about this game is that the whole effing game wows like this.
Sunhi's the best, too.
And it sounds every bit as good as it looks.OP didn't even post my favorite Sunhigifs.

How is the audio quality?
Is this what the game really looks like in motion on the Pro? If so then holy fuck! That's astounding!

Fantastic. Excellent use of low end in particular. When you're running under a Thunderjaws legs, if you have a decent subwoofer, it absolutely sounds like it.
Yes, but, *base PS4.Is this what the game really looks like in motion on the Pro? If so then holy fuck! That's astounding!
I spent 1300 dollars for this game. One of the most beautiful games I've ever played. Probably one of the only campaigns i would play over. Great fkn game.I might buy a PS4 for this game.
That's a regular PS4.
The statement you quoted kind of covers thatHow is the audio quality?
I love all the little sounds from the player and NPC outfits. The subtle clink of chains in chainmail, the bending/rubbing sound from the leather. The sound of an approaching sawtooth or swooping glinthawk... just dayum.Fantastic. Excellent use of low end in particular. But I think my favorite effect is the sound of some large robobeast desperately trying to break out of the ropecaster's straining tethers. Just perfect.
While that sounds amazing, I'm a headphone gamer lol, is the audio clean? Or does it have that muddiness many games unfortunately have?

I intend to buy a PS4 Pro for this game (and a new TV).
I already have a PS4 but I refuse to play it until I can play it in its Pro mode glory.
You gonna need alot of diapers my man or you'll be drowning in piss before that game releases.lol JkYes, no other game has wowed me graphically so far like Horizon did.
Their engine has the best (hyper)natural lightning imo whereas games like Witcher 3 are stuck between realism and "cartoony". The grey when it rains in the mountain areas really looks like a day in the Scottish Highlands. Also best jungle and desert in a game. The audio is top notch as well. For me GG is now officially Tier 1 with Naughty Gods. I wet my pants when I think about what Kojima will do with Dezima.

What does procedurally generated mean in this game? I assume all the "hard geography" is handmade and never changes but placement of trees, foliage and some select rocks are placed procedually?
LolIf it takes longer than MGSV, the piss will come from just being old ;P
Not sure if I'm a fan of that particular part of this. The most interesting thing, though not necessarily beautiful or impressive, about a day/night/weather cycle for me are those slow "in between" moments where it might not look amazing. Those realistically flat moments that occur between the highlights and give a proper sense of time passing. Rapid switches to and from optimal times of day is, funny enough, less exciting to me.
