Houston GAF: It's raining like Hell. Sound off!

How are y'all doing? I'm in Cypress and things are filling up! Stay off the roads if you can and good luck.

There's a giant apartment fire over by 249 and Compaq that hasn't even made the news because of this crazy weather.

Stay afloat!
 
Power went off briefly for a few seconds. Probably shouldn't have been playing the Witcher 3...

Over near 1960 between 249 and I-45.
 
I'm at work (ESPN Radio) and they said the audience of the Rockets stadium are being asked to stay in the building. Hope everyone makes it home ok.
 
In River Oaks. It's been raining/thundering for the past couple of hours.

The lights flickered only one time. I think I'll escape unscathed.
 
Near West Houston Med Center, power's been fine the whole time but the light show outside has been *insane*. So much constant lightning @_@.
 
This is the same line of storms that flooded Austin earlier. I'm in southern brazoria county so I doubt the rain makes it down here. Weather man said its moving north east
 
i was at home the whole day so it didn't really affect me aside of not being able to take out my dog for his before bed necessities. Should've planned it out better.


Can't blame him if he goes inside as he hates the cold water falling on him lol
 
It's slowed down a little here in midtown, but I hear another wave is incoming. Only lost power once for like 30 seconds during the Rockets game, so that was a blessing
 
Stuck at the office on account of flodded roads. On the upside, I get triple time pay for working the holiday. Normally just eight hours but now its ten with no sign off stopping.
 
No electricity loss yet, but streets are flooded in my subdivision. I'm near the Sugar Land/Alief area. Had to call in tonight since I usually drive to work around this time.
 
I'm in the Clear Lake area so I'm lucky that its not flooding and wasn't even raining most of the day. I have family downtown but they're just staying indoors. Stay safe everyone!

Edit: Now its pouring. Glad I'm inside.

The whole region is fucked. Flooding, hail, tornadoes, torrential downpours, and thunderstorms out the ass. I made a daytrip to Austin today for Memorial day and holy shit I barely made it out alive. I had to decide between staying in Austin for an indeterminate amount of time as streets were getting more flooded by the minute, or brave the 1.5-hour drive back home. Chose the latter, which involved trying to find a way to leave the city (between broken stoplights, closed off streets, and avoiding flooded roads), then passing by mulitple really nasty accidents once I made it out of the city, capped off with literally spotting a tornado and diving into a random gas station for cover.

There was a tornado mere minutes from my house in Houston the other day.

I'm up 249. Shit's been crazy all night. My street out front is a river, and the power has already gone out once. Lots of lighting hitting the fields nearby.

My cats are surprisingly calm.

Damn to think I was going to do a trip to SA this past weekend, but canceled at the last minute because my friends flaked. Glad for that!
 
Power went out multiple times. Rockets fans with satellite TV mighty pissed.

Heard Austin has it pretty bad too.

From my personal experience I'd advise everyone to not travel anywhere outside their own city unless necessary. Even if you're a-OK at driving in this condition not everyone is accustomed to this and mistakes happen. Big rigs still have to make their deadlines so they're out on the road even in terrible weather conditions and it's all a disaster waiting to happen. EDIT: Not to say rig drivers being neglectful, most of these storms come in really fast and catch everyone off guard.

I know it's the summer and all and we all wanna get out but this is unlike anything I've seen in the 15 years I've lived in the region. Stay safe, central Texas-GAF!

Tornadoes are randomly appearing all over the region. Everyone needs to be on the lookout as they can happen very quickly.
