The next federal election is still a few years off. Hopefully between now and then Trump will morph from an inspiration for conservatives into a warning.
Even if his popularity dips, he will still be hard to unseat, for a bunch of reasons.
1) Democrats appealing to minorities and the college educated is generally worthless for the electoral college. Trump being beloved by whites without college degrees is a huge plus for him, and will remain a large advantage.
2) Multiple states that voted for Hillary but are controlled by GOP at the state level are trying to make their electoral votes by congressional district, which allows the presidential vote to be gerrymandered.
3) It will be harder for the young and minorities to vote in 2020 due to more restrictive voting laws.
4) Trump wants to loosen campaign finance reform, including those that restrict churches from acting as political organizations, which helps the GOP.
Yeah, I agree, I see all of these people protesting and complaining and think that all we had to do to avoid all of this was be more unified as Democrats. I can understand not getting so fired up about HIllary but, c'mon, if you're a Democrat who didn't vote or protest voted because you couldn't choose between Hillary and Trump two you've gotten some bad information somewhere. Probably from TYT or RT.
Most of my self-immolating Bernie friends were huge redditors. So many crackpot theories about vote rigging. Really makes me lose faith in the Left.
