How do you choose your haircut?

#6 Fade with scissors on top. My Barber always messes it up, I guess it's time for a new barber.

Looks a bit like this, but longer. I have a big head and short hair just makes that shit worse.

this man is way to sexy to be me

Shaving soap smells good. Yup. Glad I could help, OP.

I give them rough guidelines, but I'm pretty sure they either just do what they want or give me some sort of standard. Either way, it looks fine, and if it looks like shit, I tell them to fix it.

I dont freaking know.

I just say "whatever you think looks best" or "Size 6 shave, leave a bit at the top"

But some of side hair is thinning badly, so I look like an idiot, I think.

And then I want to try more daring things, but I am too scared.

+1 non gay crush on Beckham's ability to look fucking boss with a fauxhawk or fauxhawkmullet.

If I could figure out a way to do this and still be as ugly as I am I would do it.

I want fucking mermaid hair, so i've been growing it out awhile . I want the longest layer to touch my buttcrack. I'm about 5 to 6 inches away. I like to do this thing where I get wasted and give myself bangs I come to regret within a few weeks. Every now and then I do get my crown layers trimmed up to relieve some of the weight.

All of the hairstyles I actually want involve slightly receded hairlines or thin hair.

Since my hair quickly becomes a small faux-afro if left unchecked, I'm fucked.

Male or Female?

I just say "Cut a lot" or "big trim" because I let it grow really long and then come out really short.

I've had a mohawk for almost 5 years now I think. I'd been thinking about one for a while and my hair had started thinning so I said "fuck it" and shaved it myself. Best haircut ever. I trim it myself when it gets too long so it always ends up a little different looking which is awesome.

Weird thing I've discovered since having it: old women LOVE mohawks and are baffled about how I get it to stay up. Apparently they have forgotten that hair spray and hair gel are things and that they have almost an entire aisle at the store devoted to them.

I'm going to have a haircut tomorrow at eleven, so in twelve hours now.

I usually go to the hairdresser once a year, sometimes even less.

Now I want to take better care of myself and that obviously goes through the hair.

I'm afraid to change radically yet I still want to and have no idea what to get.

How do you usually choose your hairstyle?
Do you keep the same one over and over?
How do you know if a certain hairstyle is going to look good on you?

I've developed a two year plus relationship with my stylist, Camile. I sit in the chair, I tell her to do whatever she wants, we talk about life, and I pay my 25 plus tip.

I have a dark mop of really thick hair. I get a haircut when bangs start messing with my eyes, or it looks like I have a mullet when I wear a beanie. I used to prefer short hair since "it was easier to groom", but the truth is my hair grows very quickly and I actually prefer not having to get a haircut so often, plus I like how it looks.

I modeled my current hairstyle after Aaron Bruno's, cause I thought it looked cool. My hair is thicker than his though.

I saw Matthew Fox on Lost and thought I could rock a buzz cut. It's the only haircut I've gotten in the last three years. Last fall I decided to invest in a hair trimmer and I've actually been cutting my own hair to not bad results.

I notice though as my hair grows a bit (it's stopped being curly at this point), it looks pretty good out of the shower, wet and spiky. Might try something with that in the future.

I only ever tell my haircut lady this

long on top
short on the sides
fade the sideburns
scissors only

i do the rest of the magic myself.

Back and sides at a 1 or 2 fade, trim the top a bit and thin it out. I've been perfecting it for the last year or so after a few years or long hair.

"Same as always!"
Then I wake up the next morning:
"Oh god it's too short."
Then I wake up the week after:
"Oh god it's too long."
/Repeat every 3 to 4 months.

I got sick of paying $15-$20 per haircut, so I bought a pair of Wahl clippers and now my g/f cuts my hair.

She has no real experience cutting hair, but she honestly does a better job than 90% of the stylists I've ever been to. I keep my hair somewhat long, so she does an 8 on the sides and back and then cuts the front and top with scissors.

I look at pictures online and see what I want next.

I usually grow my hair into a medium length rough afro, generally looking like something Lenny Kravitz has. I maintain it for perhaps 6 months to a year then decide on which fresh cut I want and ask for it at the barbers.

Going for something like this next:

My mate who has straight hair generally does the same thing, he prints off pics from google images and brings them to the hairdressers. Think he went for a Josh Klinghoffer cut last time around.

I go into a salon that has a bunch of hot girls in there and ask them what I should do, then I disregard it and get a buzz cut.

When they ask me how I want it, all I say is "shorter", when they ask me to be more specific I say "Just make it look okay".

I've been shaving my head for like 6 years now. Not going bald or anything, I just think it looks good on me. Sometimes I don't go quite so short and need my fiance or my mom to trim the back of my head.
