How many MMOs are you currently playing?

How many? Only
Final Fantasy
eleven, though I'm afraid I might not drop my subscription when XIV starts up again :/

-Final Fantasy XIV (when it's up) will be playing when it launches.

-Guild Wars 2

-The Secret World (Although I haven't gotten real into it yet)

Just downloaded Ragnarok II to see how it is.

I'm playing GW2 primarily though I dabble in TSW for the investigation quests. I really want to play Defiance on my PS3 as well so I'm probably going to pick that up eventually.

Being a huge MMO fan, there is nothing really hooking me in at the moment unfortunately. I'll dabble in SWTOR and found Neverwinter incredibly boring. I did however get an invite to the Dragon's Prophet beta so I'll be checking that out for sure.

Guild Wars 2.

Best MMO on the market right now in my opinion. Tried Neverwinter due to streams looking interesting. I might try it again when the warlock class comes out, if it's not behind a pay wall.

Took a break from Guild Wars 2 due to burnout. Picked up Defiance and having fun with that. May check out Aion again now that it's FTP.

None atm, Waiting for the FFXIV re-release.

Will probably start playing PSO2 when that gets an actual US release.

Been jumping back and forth between the following lately. No one has gotten my full attention and even then their side games I played when I'm not interested in anything else.

Neverwinter
The Secret World
Star Trek Online
Defiance
Tera Online

I'm likely to end up focusing on just Neverwinter, The Secret World, and the betas I'm in. What I really want is a MMO with a very good housing system where I can build up my house instead of just putting in items. It's why I'm looking forward to ArcheAge but no idea when a player would be able to take part in the housing in that game. If I can start building one from the very beginning I'll certainly focus on that.

Currently EQ2.

Been playing for free for the last month, but now I'm reaching a point where I really need to resub. So I may re-sub soon.

Waiting on FFXIV Summer, and EQ Next Fall.

I've played all the mainstream mmos. Like 20 of them.

I always go back to EQ, EQ2, and DAoC.

Tera since release and trying Neverwinter but the combat is pretty mhe atm.

Tried FFXIV closed beta but it almost made me cell asleep, so nope

Waiting for PSO2 and Blade & Soul

I'm downloading Guild Wars 2 as I write this, but I'll probably end up uninstalling in a day or when I get bored again.

I have Star Trek Online installed / ready to go for the 21st of May, when the Romulan expansion hits. It looks pretty great. Its a shame they didn't have the production value to make the ground-based content more compelling, but the ship combat is ridiculously fun.

I'm playing a pit of Neverwinter and Star Trek Online(very rarely). I actually could play LOTRO almost up to its last expansion if I want, got a killer deal on some points and bought up quite a bit of it.

I'm also messing around with a trail account for WoW but I know in my heart it won't work I need something that I can just play here and there and with a subscription that doesn't work for me.

None. Use to play WoW but thankfully managed to escape the addiction over 2 years of on and off casual play. If that makes sense.

0.

I came back to WoW when the Panda expansion dropped to $20 and was fucking shocked to be reminded that didn't include a free month. I played it a bit and then wasn't vigilant and let my sub re-up for a second month but promptly canceled it after that.

If they were smart, they would lower the price to $10. I'd be far more willing to play sparingly at $10 than I am at $15. Even better would be some sort of tiered pricing with $5 for X number of hours and $10 for Y, etc. They are hemorrhaging subscribers but not doing anything to combat that.

Guild Wars 2. It not only covers all my MMO needs, I simply can't play a traditional MMO after this. Fetch quests and constantly outgrowing content? No thanks.

Also, support has been AMAZING, with one major content patch PER MONTH. I don't really understand how they do it with not monthly fee, and half expect ArenaNet to go under at any time, but apparently they're making even more money than they expected O_o. It's fucking witchcraft to me.

Its the way they run the currency. Gem sales have been excellent.

None, but I like to believe an alternate universe version of myself has been enjoying Phantasy Star Online 2 on US servers since January.

Yes, and I think a huge factor of this is this comment by Vigilant Walrus. I agree 200% with his entire post, but I thought I needed to explain this bit because it would sound alien or misunderstood by people:

This is also why this game is the only game were I have wanted to spend real life money on a vanity item in their cash shop.

I find myself in the same situation, but this needs explaining. It's not that we see items in the cash shop and think "I need that". It's quite the opposite. It's "holy damn, I've played 600+ amazing hours (in my case, I know many are well above 1000+) and have only paid 50$ for the game. I should contribute!". Then you simply find something to throw money their way. As I've said before, the most powerful currency they're leveraging is GOODWILL. They treat their players like royalty; the game has improved in half a year as much as WoW did in its first two-three years (and that's to say a lot, because WoW DID improve massively!); again, from the players' point of view, in exchange for NOTHING (no monthly fee). They're trying new things constantly, and amazingly, most click really well! It seems like stealing to pay "just 50$" for all that. Buying cosmetic stuff is just our way to say thanks, and to encourage them to keep adding awesome stuff like Super Adventure Box, Fractals or Molten Facility.

WoW was my first MMO when it came out, only tried it because of WCIII. I played WoW consistently until this past fall, when I couldnt bear the way they changed the game finally. Was trying to like it, but it felt 'meh'.

Tried SWG, it was fun but I came into it too late to be involved
Tried Rift to level 42
Tried GW2 to level 40
Tried Secret world - it was pretty interesting I might try it again
Tried LOTRO couple of chars to 30
Tried SWTOR to 50, then found after 50 to be blah, and i leveled up a horrible class so it ruined me for that game
Tried Neverwinter to like level 5, not bad but nothing captivating yet
Tried Tera to like 4, I dont like the closed world feel of running into imaginary walls
Tried DCUO, leveled up a couple of chars to Max, its fun but runs dry fast for my taste.

I realized I like good story line. I think thats why I was so enthralled with WoW through Lich King. I had played WCIII orig and frozen throne, and once Arthas was done, Cataclysm and Mists of Pandaria just seemed... lame?

WoW has been a great game, and I miss the first few years of it, but YES they need to lower the sub fee. 15 bucks a month turns me away from doing daily quest grinds and what not. I would pay 5 bucks, maybe 7.99 a month.

None at the moment but will likely hop back into Guild Wars 2 over the summer. Really enjoyed my time with it and the fact that there's no subscription makes it super easy to pop in and out of.

My main is GW2. I have a couple hundred hours invested and I feel like I've barely scratched the surface.

I also plan to got back to Star Trek Online to check out the new Romulan content. Have just managed to recover my account so happy days.

Also played Neverwinter to level 18 but it's nothing too amazing.

I'm in the FF14 beta but I don't think much of the game sadly.

So pretty much just the one MMO with a few distractions every now and then.

None.

Over the years, I have find that I get too easily addicted or hooked on to some of them and then they are just huge time suckers especially if it is a MMO that is heavily reliant on grinding for hours and hours on end just to level up or improve your character. So, I've stopped them altogether for 4 - 5 years now.

Guild Wars 2; it's all I'm playing and all I need.

I hit a point in my life where I could dedicate at most two hours a night to any given interest and quickly realized that games with a monthly fee had to go.

You might want to look into the genre again, as very few MMOs actually have a subscription fee, and those that do usually go free to play when their initial launch numbers nosedive; SWTOR, Tera, LotRO, Aion etc. The original Guild Wars (though technically not an MMO) proved that you can support a game without a sub and the rest of the industry has been slow to learn. Guild Wars 2 launched without a subscription and is one of the few MMOs to actually grow after the initial launch period (WoW and EVE are the only others I know of).

What I really want is a MMO with a very good housing system where I can build up my house instead of just putting in items. It's why I'm looking forward to ArcheAge but no idea when a player would be able to take part in the housing in that game. If I can start building one from the very beginning I'll certainly focus on that.

There was a video for Wildstar's housing, it looked pretty robust. You get your own flying island you construct buildings on.

Nice, I hope it ends up surprising you and you end up enjoying it. I know I have for about 8 months now. Roll on the Stormbluff Isle server and PM me your username (name.####) and I'll get you into the GAF Guild; that will at least give you a large community with lots of experience and people willing to lend a hand.

None.

I'm sure the usual slew of haters will arrive in this thread momentarily to tell you I'm lying, but you might want to give Guild Wars 2 a try if you want to avoid a grindy MMO.

Unlike other MMOs built around a sub model to keep you playing (and thus, paying), GW2 was built from the ground up to be subscription fee; all you pay for is the box. As a result, the experience required to level plateaus around level 30;

Other games require you to get an increasingly larger amount of XP to level, increasing the time it takes each time you do. Once you finish up the early game, GW2 flattens out. In fact, a common complaint from people is that they level too fast because practically everything gives you experience; beating monsters, doing dynamic events and renown regions, gathering, PVP, World vs. World, platforming puzzles, exploring...

A friend of mine got me into WoW right after it launched and we played it for a good 3 years. Since then I only play when he texts me and asks if I want to join him for a few hours for a nostalgia trip and we resubscribe for a month and then drop it for awhile.

What I'm STILL waiting for is the Shadowbane emulator guys to get out of closed beta. Good I spent so many hours of my youth on that game. One of the best PVP MMOs ever.

On hiatus from Firefall, so I guess Vindictus (Rush event gets you to Level 50).

Been wanting to get back into PSO2.

I've played WoW for a little over 5 years now. Tried out SWTOR but it felt too much like poor man's WoW.

Never played any other MMO than those two.
