I was just wondering as I was watching a boss fight against whispy woods. I never really thought about it before, but it's like "Hey, that guy's fighting a fucking tree!" It's not exactly common. I could see the one legendary tree, yggdrasil, showing up as a fight or two, but any other games have bosses that are based off of some type of tree?

Please, no pokemon.

Exdeath, the final boss of Final Fantasy V is a tree that can shapeshift. He even fights the party in tree form for the first part of the final fight. He is probably one of the toughest FF final bosses too.

Tree monsters are pretty common basic enemies in the Breath of Fire series too. You can even recruit trees into your party in two of the games (well, seeds of trees?). You also dive into the dreamscape of a tree, or in another game study under a tree as its disciple.
