uh, more precision = more freedom, not the other way around.

not always, using free hands could be a better experience, depending on the game type

or cam can interact with wand, who knows

I means not the original, but a cloned, maybe improved, one
in the past Nintendo gave us rumble pack, then sony and microsoft copy this, and gave us dual rumble, better sensitive, packs in their gamepad

may the story repeat itself?

if in late 2006 or in spring 2007 similar controller will appear for PS3 and 360, they will receive a lot of support (it's possibile update the system via automatic online system patch) as the rumble in the past

I see similar controller in prototype form in the past, from microsoft studios, so I think that there's no copyright problem

if this happens and HD consoles as PS3 and 360 will have a similar controller, revo will loose all his appeal imo, what do you think, gaf?

The remote isn't the main thing that will make the Revolution a success.
If thre Rev is really successfull you may see copycats appearing but otherwise you won't see that plain and simple.

You know. DS turned out to be a huge sucess and is beating PSP. Yet Sony has not tried copying them with their own Brain Training(Sega has though) and has not released a touchscreen accesory thing so you never know.

Sony is losing the handheld market yet they aren't trying to copy Nintendo, so who says they will in consoles it they end up losing(very doubtful) to Nintendo there as well?

I can't imagine how they could push a touchscreen add on for the PSP, especially without looking like total chumps. I'm not sure how such an attatchment would fit on the device, or affect that wonderful screen... The attach rate would be terrible and software development for it equally so.

This is the big thing the Rev has going for it. That wand posted on the previous page looks to work exactly like the revmote, but MS didn't package it with the X-Box 360. They could release something like it down the line, but they'd probably have trouble selling enough to merit good exclusive third party support. They'd be stuck with quick ports of rev games unless they could somehow get previous adopters to pick up the new controller en mass.

That Microsoft wand got posted here shortly after the Revmote was revealed for the first time. If you read the article, it's pretty clearly not a comparable technology -- it uses LEDs that are visually tracked by multiple cameras in order to determine its position in 3D space. It definitely couldn't be built into a controller the way the Rev technology is.

from the image there is a magnetometer and a accelerometer, or not?

http://research.microsoft.com/~awilson/wand/default_files/image004.gif

a gyroscope is not under copyright, microsoft build pc gamepad with a gyro inside so, what's the point?

what lack to this?
make me understand

Copy unproven technology from a platform that is so far incredibly poorly supported? I doubt it.

The concept of the revmote is not new, and personally I think it will have as broad an appeal as the eyetoy (not saying they do the same things).

someone please change the title of this thread to Rev which is short for Revolution not RevO which pronouces as REEV not REV.

it's killing me to see it in an actual thread title. yeah yeah, i know i have problems.
but call it the right name at least.

Revolution = Rev

if you want to talk about the RevO controller, it's pretty much a piece of RTR trash and should be upgraded as soon as you have the xtra $ but here it is in all it's RTR glory.

Poorly supported? Didn't EA already publicly accept being interested in developing Rev titles? I can't remember the last time I bought something EA, but if any company renews industry confidence in investing in an unproven console, EA is it.

Dude. You bring this to every single thread where this is mentioned. Do you work for Traxxas?
