How the hell did Krillin end up with Android 18 anyway

Technically, he sort of did, because he wished for her to be fully human, but then the dragon said that was beyond his power, so he settled for removing the remote-control bomb in her chest.

But he didn't need to wish for her to have lady parts, because she always had those. 17&18 are "organic" androids, similar to Cell (except made from an existing human starting point, instead of made from scratch), which was why Cell was able to complete himself by absorbing them, unlike 16 (who Cell couldn't eat), or 19&20 (who Vegeta smashed).

As for how Krillin ended up with 18, she gave Krillin a dismissive kiss after she broke Vegeta's arm, because Krillin was no threat to the Androids and this was to show that he was beneath their attention. That little flirtation pushed Krillin into falling for her.

Krillin made a big move when he showed up with her kill switch, and then smashed it. He shocked her by being a bigger threat than she thought possible, and then by being the first person to ever treat her like a real person. People like Vegeta had previously treated her like the monster which Dr Gero had made her, an object to be destroyed, resulting in her acting like one. But Krillin was different. He fought Cell to protect her, even though they both knew how hopeless that fight was. She saw that he was willing to die for her.

Then after she was brought back by the Dragonballs, she saw him make another big move when he wished her bomb away, freeing her from any kill switch. And then she saw him admit that he liked her, but he wished for 17's freedom too, because he wished for her happiness more than he wished for some unattainable shot at her.

That's when she confronted him and said that all these big moves that he's doing haven't won her over, but... 17 is her brother, not her boyfriend. That was basically an invitation for him to continue chasing her, after he had quit. The big moves did have an effect, and now she's willing to entertain the idea of conecting with Krillin, but they didn't seal the deal and she wants more of this sort of thing from Krillin.

Offscreen, Krillin clearly didn't give up. He continued to chase her and he continued to win her favor, until she completely accepted him.

Krillin's love life through the DB saga is the best story in Anime IMO.

His first girlfriend Maron treated him like shit by flirting with other Men, it was smart of him to brake up with her. He won the heart of 18, marries and have a child with her.

At GT, when Krillin was - again - killed by 17, 18's reaction touched me.

Krillin is Dragonball's most hardest working jobber. Toriyama probably felt sorry for him and decided to throw him a bone.

Bulma and Vegeta was just Toriyama wanting more super saiyans in his cereal.

I would love to see a couple of filler episodes focusing in how #18 fell in love with Krillin just like they did with Maroon. Those type of episodes were the ones I enjoyed the most in DBZ. Like when Piccolo and Goku are trying to get a driver's license. One of the funniest episodes of Z.

Anime filler can be very good when it's just a light-hearted one off, a slice of life episode in a series that otherwise isn't. It's when they build whole arcs of it which are pointless and go nowhere because they're in-between other canon, or when they try to inject new sub-plots into existing arcs and the difference is jarring (for instance, the gaiden episodes in original Z like where Gohan, Krillin, and Bulma end up on a planet with alien shapeshifters posing as Namekians, or Goku runs into "Queen Snake" on Snake Way, lol, terrible stuff).

You're krillin me, man. You're krillin me.

But seriously, what is up with Krillin being so weak later on in the series? All these amazing characters being left in the dust in favor of Goku time after time.

That is what happens when you make Saiyans a race with unlimited potential. Everyone going to look like jobbers in comparison to Goku and Vegeta.

Bulma's "easy". She's been throwing herself at bad men since Yamcha.

Her original Dragonball quest was a journey for dick. She fell for Yamcha while he was working against them, and they only started going out after they both let it slip that they had failed in their quests to use the Dragonballs to get laid.

And Bulma still went after anything with good looks, from General Blue to Zarbon, while these people were actively trying to kill her and her friends.

Bulma never loved Yamcha, she was just using him. Then Vegeta showed up and barged his way into her home and started walking around shirtless. She was turned on by him, but she barked orders at him, because she's used to dealing with ill-mannered overpowered bad boys, and his lack of respect was pissing her off. And Vegeta liked getting backtalk, so they fucked, and Yamcha had no hope of competing with Vegeta so he got beta'd into nothingness.

Bulma henpecked Vegeta until his rough edges started to wear off, and Vegeta grew to like having a wife so he let her do it.

Thank you! It's about time someone said it. She's the smartest woman on the planet, but her reason for going after the dragon balls has always been ridiculous.

Yeah, I much prefer the earlier way of doing it, where there were definitely characters more powerful than others... but fights were still up in the air because victories tended to come more from clever use of new types of attacks rather than straight up beam struggles. Goku was the strongest around in Dragon Ball, but he still lost each time in the Tenkaichi Budokai except for his last one, which was the final story of the series before Z and upon which the fate of the world against the Final Boss rested.

Well, back then they had to actually animate martial artists instead of charging themselves up like Energizer Bunnies.

Krillin fit in well with the original kung fu stuff in a very Jackie Chan sort of way, combining skill with physical humor.

Still... my personal favorite character.

Shit, even the other Saiyans are jobbers now. Gohan, Trunks, and Goten are fucking pathetic these days.

Gosh i forgot how well animated the fight scenes were in the original dragon ball.
