How was your online experience with Bloodborne ?

I've had some good fights but i would love that invasion would be totally free-for-all instead of having to use the bells to allow it.

Both ways i mean, love to get that tension of someone just jumping into my game at the worst possible moment :D

It's worse than Dark Souls 2 PvP and that says a lot.

The sad thing is, having recently replayed DS2 with Scholar of The First Sin there's some things Bloodborne does that would make the DS2 experience a lot better.

For example, Blue/Red orbs only work the moment you use them. With Soul Memory severely limiting your matches this basically means you have to get lucky and hope someone meets your matchmaking criteria THAT INSTANT or it will fail. This is especially problematic since I love the Blue Sentinels covenant and invading sinners.

If it was like the Bell system, where it continuously searches for a match until it finds one, while also letting you keep playing the game, it'd make Soul Memory much less of an issue. Hell I'd be ok just crouching/praying until you find a match.

Helped a friend who only play Souls games co-op throughout the whole game, and played 2 days worth of PvP in Nightmare Frontier at level ~70, with a down time between invading/getting invaded of less than 3 minutes, so it works I guess. But I'd still say this is the weakest Souls game in online features.

Hovering somewhere around abysmal. Summons took forever, even with a password, to the point where even though I loved trying to co-op bosses I stopped attempting around halfway into the game as it was too much of a pain in the ass.

My online experience with Bloodborne:

Okay, I did use my PS+ free trial and looked at some of the messages I guess but other than that it was nonexistant. I have no idea.

It's been what I've expected. I summoned someone to my game early on to fight
The Bloodstarved Beast
just to see how good the community was. Typical Bloodborne player using Ludvig's Holy Blade got BODIED within seconds which I found hilarious. Then I summoned someone for
Vicar Amelia
and they were very helpful even though that boss was pretty easy.
I'm not done with the game yet but I was invaded as soon as I made it to
The Nightmare Frontier
and I fell off the cliff right outside the cave where you come from. My invader sent me an angry message stating that I should have told them I did not want to fight them. I hilariously messaged them back stating to relax their tits and maybe try not invading someone while you can see they're clearly exploring.

Initially I couldn't help my friend in co-op due to incompatible NAT2 or something.

Once I did some port-forwarding, the problem cleared and I was able to help him beat some of the bosses.

Played co-op with friend all last night, worked fine for us. Though I must say the chalice system is overly convoluted and is a pain to have to clear the same area twice.

Jolly cooperated a dozen or so times. All good as far as connection quality goes.
The time it actually takes to connect... *sigh*
Got invaded only once for now (approaching the 45hr mark). Strange. O_o

I played 80 hours and never once got invaded. I cooped a couple of times and while it did take some time to connect to other players once I was connected it seemed to work fairly decently. Cooping in DaS 2 does work heaps better though (get summoned in <30 seconds most of the time in popular areas).

I have been invaded just once in one of the last levels were there are those women with a bell.
I'm happy about that, honestly i've always found this invading thing just annoying.

never pvped but cooped like 10 times and didnt have a problem with it. neither globally nor when i set a pssword to play with friends.
always worked after 2 minutes max.

Hit and Miss.

I've tried co-op before and it wouldn't work for nothing, but yesterday I've was able to summon a few players in Forbidden Woods quite easily. But then later I tried to be summoned to help other players and couldn't find anyone.

I've faced a few bosses alone because I can't find people to co-op, and I've had plenty of disconnections during a session. I've been locked out of the fog door a lot of times as well. Don't know why it happens.

And I've only been invaded once, and it was during co-op.

I just attempted to co-op with my bud who just started the game two days ago. Couldn't connect to each other so he ended up summoning the NPC to help him with BSB.

In terms of co-op it was okay, I found someone who beckoned for help really quick. Sometimes the framerates were shit in these online sessions. In terms of invasions and pvp. Really, really bad. On of the biggest disappointments of Bloodborne. I got invaded twice in Nightmare Frontiert before I killed the sinister woman and that's it. Online gameplay is one of the many thing they really f'ed up in Bloodborne.

I played only the first hour of the game online...and nothing happened. Then my psn ran out, didn't bother to get it again So I played the remaining of the 60 hour game offline.

I got invaded a grand total of one time.
I never coop anyway so I don't really care about that.
I'm ambivalent about the online experience.

My friend and I connect quickly most of the time (within 30 seconds of ringing bells) - I can't connect to a few of my friends at all though. The only thing we find annoying is you can't progress through multiple layers / bosses in Chalice dungeons.

PvE:
Stand around for 10-15 minutes to summon someone, enter boss fight... XYZ Has Died.

PVP:
Someone invaded me in Nightmare of Mensis. He was using the BoM. I killed him.

So barely any invasions and long waits for people that die quickly (not their fault all the time, 30% less HP is stupid).

In the Souls games i usually like to help players but with BB i only did it with my first playthrough my online experience was slow as f anyways invasions were great as always

Mine was good, people helped me out, invaded me and uh.. that's pretty much it. Only one time some dick called me pathetic idiot because i kicked him out lol. But beside this one time everything worked good, almost always found someone if i needed help and the 3 PVP Fights i had were intense and fun.

Did some bosses with a friend. Didn't work at first, but after both rebooting our PS4 we managed to summon each other. It worked great.

Only did the three shadows and the witch bossfight together. We found a way to cheese the Shadow of Yarnham bossfight: Stepping through the fog gate with auto adjust camera set to off causes major fps issues and renders the three shadows to be motionless. While I was watching a slideshow, my friend simply butchered them. Once the fight was over, I rolled forward which ended the fps issues.
We did kill them legitimately in my friends world before. He didn't get any fps lagg which I found very strange. Only after googling it later, I found out it was this setting which caused the fps issues.

Apart from that, my online experience was non-existant.

the few times I did coop with my friend we were able to join with no hassle.

calling for help before a boss also has been easy

haven't been invaded though (about 70 hours game time)

not once did I manage to summon an other player.
countless insights wasted..
(never used rest mode or resume or whatever)
helping players worked fine.

only got invited once.
in nightmare of mensis.
he was lagging like hell.
beat him somehow.

Disappointing but not for technical reasons. PvP has been neutered, little reason to invade, almost no chance to be invaded either unless you're already cooping, sadly a far cry from Dark and Demons.

I've had at least five really good experiences, mostly with me helping new players through a new area or owning someone with my GIANT CANNON.

PvE - helped a few people beat bosses.

PvP - went 2-1 .

With covenants being even more hidden than DkS and Insight being relatively abundant and useless compared to Humanity, combined with invasions only possible on people who are in co-op*, its clearly inferior to Souls games.

I quite like the "shared world" aspect of it. Seeing messages and other players ghosts about the place gives a great sense of being part of a wider community. That part works great.

I only tried summoning twice and both times it failed miserably so I've played the whole game solo (onto final boss now).

I've been invaded 3 times and it was quite an exciting experience, despite falling to my death twice.

I've not tried to invade another player's game yet, I've saving that for another build.

Overall I'm a little disappointed but it hasn't really effected my first play-through that much. I'm gonna try and help out as many people as I can in NG+ so I'll have a better view of the online play then.

i have only been invaded in
nightmare frontier

co-op was no problem for most the time. if i couldn't find any co-op partners (helping or summoning) i was just underleveled for that particulare area/boss. you just have to be patient for summoning help. it can take up to 10 minutes to find someone. maybe that has somewhat changed by now.

i also dont like the mechanic of the the bell maiden. i find it to easy to avoid invasions. also there is no bell maiden in alot of areas where invasions would be interestering.

Awful. I managed to invade one player and could never do it again.

Tried to help out my friend and my friend also tried to come into my game. No dice. After multiple tries I just gave up.

Bad. I didn't co-op much because I like to go solo against the bosses , the few times I tried it took a while, and when I tried connecting with a friend for some chalice fun and it was impossible.

Also, invasions rarely work.

My PvP experience has been decent do good. Mostly good connections and the wait hasn't been too long. Still a far cry from the rock solid online of DS2 unfortunately, that was much faster.

Coop on the other hand takes way too long, even when using passwords. Trying to do all the Chalice stuff with friends and it is a shitty experience.

I hope the will patch the net code, so the connections are quicker.

Surprisingly good, since I have pretty slow internet. I played quite a bit of co-op on bosses with randoms, and then did all chalices related to the trophy with my two cousins, and about half the game together with our second characters. We had a few times that it took 3+ minutes, but it was within 30 seconds usually.

All things considered, it was by far the easiest time we've had grouping up in a souls game, and we've played all of them co-op on our second playthroughs.

I'm kinda split on soul sign vs no soul sign though. The bell is nice because you don't have to be looking for a sign or explaining where it is in detail. On the other hand, after waiting for a full minute with no feedback you start wondering if its going to work.

It was below par.

The pvp has been excellent, not really a complaint there.
Offering myself up for coop has been pretty weak. Long wait times and terrible frame rates in some areas when I do join.
The death animations other other players have also been pretty hit and miss. Sometimes they'll show up when I click on them, other times nothing happens when I press X.

Got invaded constantly in Mensis and Frontier, usually within 30 seconds of spawning. Had some fun duels, including an epic lengthy affair that ended in a double K.O. Most people reciprocated when I bowed, although a few douches bumrushed me to get a few cheap hits.

Most didn't heal either, and I didn't unless they did first. Only offered co-op help once as I usually save that for subsequent playthroughs. Unfortunately due to lack of build variety I haven't bothered starting another file yet. It's a shame - I used to love doing guided tours of Blighttown in DS helping people navigate and get all the good loot. I fucking loved BB, it just doesn't have the staying power of the others.

Mostly fine. I had no real issues getting summoned and was able to consistently summon outside of one area. I was invaded pretty often too.

I had an easy time finding my friends too.

Pretty low. The private coop rarely worked for my friends and I, and never worked for a 3 person match. I hated wasting insight ringing my beckoning bell only to have no one show up too.

My experience so far with Nat 2, PS4 wired and set to local matchmaking has been great honestly, helped other players about 3 different times with a total of ~3 hours co-op playtime (at Central Yarnam,
Rom
&
Amygdala
) and had no problem finding hosts - in fact I found players almost instantly every time.

I've summoned on most bosses so far, which has been a lot of fun. Haven't had any connectivity issues or anything like that.

can people pls stop dying on Rom when I summon them? :(

I love Bloodborne, but even when it works right, the bell mechanic is worse than the Dark Souls 1/2 summon signs. But the matchmaking is shit and it doesn't work right, which makes it even shittier.

I got the platinum and I got invaded exactly once, and have done a few co-op sessions. The game feels dead, when I know it's not. I played Scholar on PC right after and it's like, summon signs EVERYWHERE and it just works so much better.

After Demon's Souls, Dark Souls and Dark Souls 2, I thought they were finally be able to give a decent online experience. It seems it still isn't the case. This is ridiculous.

I can never summon, still haven't been able to once (tried like 5 or 6 times, in different places). I get summoned almost every time I try though, which is about 20 or so times.

PvP wise, I got invaded once during my 1st playthrough and 5 times during NG+, all in the same place
Mergo's Loft Middle
, haven't had it happen anywhere else in the game, The connection was great though, no noticeable lag on my end. Wish they wouldn't let invaders heal with Blood Vials though, fights can drag on.

The online is absolutely AWFUL. I couldn't connect to my brother a single time, regardless of how close our levels were. We're a single room over for crying out loud.

Besides notes, non-existant.

Could not summon yet ( only tried once TBH as I don't like to do boses in coop first time around ). But I haven't been invaded once.

Very limited..
Had a grand total of 2 co-op sessions with a random guy for some quick help with VA and the BSB, got invaded once in Mensis Nightmare and that's pretty much it..

Didn't really bother me much cos I hate PvP in general

Played with a friend from the UK, I'm in America, and it only took about 3-4 minutes of bell ringing to connect. We coordinated over party chat, though. I was a bad host/co-oper and didn't really watch his back so he died both times. It was fun.
