i recognize a great multitude of posters here, and largely the ones that tend to stick with me are the ones who go out of their way to type up posts with substance that are well thought out and reasoned. naturally it also helps when their interests intersect with my own (television, movies, food, cooking, etc.).

i generally just scroll through a thread and only read 30% of the posts (and 30% of the posts is generous--there's a lot of junk being thrown out in every thread on every message board), but i always stop to read posts by these people, off the top of my head:

It isn't a forum script, it's the browsers doing the resizing. IE, Chrome, and Safari are the worst at it (IE especially.) Opera and Firefox are awesome at resizing images.

I think it's something like <img src="url" alt="-Poster's Avatar-" width="120px" />

TBH something like <img src="url" alt="-Poster's Avatar-" style="max-width: 120px;" /> would be more efficient IMO, as it wouldn't stretch the avatar to fit if it was less than 120 pixels wide.

I have Firefox and think it looks awful except for a very rare occasion. Cartoons don't look that bad since there's usually less detail versus real life images. But anything with text never looks good.
In another forum I occasionally viewed, signatures were done with a script. So people were lazy as hell and would just put a vertical image that was something like 800x400 and let the script do it. But the forum code sucked and it would only work half the time so every now and then you'd be forced to scroll through these giant signatures of people posting one liners.

And for the topic, I don't even think 1% of GAF ever remembers that I'm a girl. In past forums more often than not people think I'm gay before they think I'm a girl.

You're not wrong, but the fact that more people live in or near those large cities you mention is obviously going to affect the teams people root for. pollo and I are both from NY, you want us to root for Kansas City?

Sure why not? Even the lowly Royals are more interesting than teams that can just brainlessly spend their way out of trouble each year.
So you just blindly root for every sports team in your geographic region? The Knicks? As far as MLB is concerned, you better thank your parents they didn't raise you in Pittsburgh (4 years ago I would have said Milwaukee).
