I ordered mine before the deadline :( Just keep getting my expected delivery/shipping date bumped up a day every day, but no actual shipment.
Same here.

HP has management issues.

They put all their touchpad workforce into shipping Warior's touchpad then took another vacation.

I don't like reading comics on my 14'' laptop, i just want a tablet.

anyone know why they are selling new orders when they have backorders still to fulfill?

Someone on another forum said HP claimed those $249 touchpads were just a website glitch and none of the orders were processed.

I dunno if thats true or not.

I'm looking to buy a Touchpad if anyone has it for sale, doesn't matter if it's 16 or 32GB. Preferably sealed though but like new is ok..

Just shoot me a PM!

got an email from HP saying my SMB order is still confirmed but shipping is again delayed, they are looking to ship all units out by Oct 31st.

The wait continues.

i gave the touchpad more than a month, and i ended up selling my 16GB, along with my dads 32GB model a few days ago.

after using it at stock and even after running preware with all the tweaks plus overclocking it, webos still felt half-baked to me. the app selection also wasn't there even though i knew that going in. i took it to school and work to use, and yet i found myself using my phone more since it was a heck of a lot faster getting things done on it.

at the end of the day, it was literally just sitting next to my computer in exhibition mode on the dock charging and showing the time of day/clock. i figured at that point, theres no point in owning it any longer.

i really wanted to like webos, and i did to an extent. i thought the original pre was a great phone just held back by a few issues. the pixi was just a lame attempt to cash in on the centro market in the years before. the rest is all history...

Um you know they are porting Android to it and it's probably a few weeks away? Maybe another month.

This thing is still gonna be better than Kindle Fire when Android port hits.

And it will probably run like shit. WebOS certainly does, even when overclocked.

What are looking forward to in the Gingerbread port that isn't already available in webOS? Netflix? More games?

So far the videos look good.

Definitely Netflix, but in general I just want software that is well designed and supported.

just got am email from hp saying that my touchpad will ship within the next 2 weeks

I finally got my Touchpad from SMB on tuesday(the same day Bison graced my village). Makes me happy and sad at the same time, so much potential in WebOS that will probably be wasted as I have no confidence in HP doing anything useful with it at this point. Or in anything HP is going to do in general with the new CEO.

I think I once made a fantastic analogy about the potential of webOS and I wish I could find it because I can't even remember what I said.

Netflix and more games would be fantastic. I'd also like a proper word processor.

Just to bring closure to my own TouchPad saga here...I got a 32gb from CDW!!!!

As others have said before, I'm really enjoying it, but beyond that, being able to spend time with a tablet has really shown me how cool tablets are. I honestly didn't really "get" them until now. Again, Jobs frickin knew what I wanted before I wanted it.

And, even though the PDF viewer is assy, it's pretty amazing to put the contents of the Absolutely Mad DVD onto it and be able to read essentially every Mad Magazine issue from the past 50 years whilst lying on my couch.

It seems my search is finally over, HP just emailed me a shipping confirmation with tracking numbers! I can't wait to get my hands on this thing!

Unbelieveably, I got yet another email saying my order is going through and to expect it in 2 weeks. I ordered this during that fire sale weekend, and since then, had HP charge and uncharge my card 3 times, with 3 emails assuring me my order was being processed. I feel like a rag doll being jerked around.

Um it's being ported with the 2 cores already in mind. Also it runs smoother, web browser that actually works and YouTube video player that ain't shit. Also the market has better apps and free to boot, no more playing the BS game of trying to redeem a WebOS app code that expires 30 minutes after.

WebOS was never made to take advantage of the tablet's hardware while the Android port will day1. I'll take that over flash but I'm sure we can enable that via the market place.

@Greyface - um the WebOS market sucks dick and so do the Apps. After playing with this thing, I wouldn't care if it's market went to shit as it's shit to begin with. I'm ready for Android and all it's improvements.

edit wrong thread.

Either way.. keep checking to see if this is bumped. What are the chances, if any, we'll see more of these in the wild?

I use my touchpad for instant messaging since my ipad doesnt have background program for it. Instant messager app kills the battery of the touchpad, after overclocking its still a piece of shit. I look forward to icecream sandwich port.

Wait, wouldn't overclocking make the battery life even worse if anything?

If you're overclocking anything in hopes of an increase in battery life, you're doing it wrong.

Overclock only kicks in when app is running that needs full speed, it still has power gating. Im saying when its in standby with the app still running it deains the battery
