Was this the one off of Northern. They are a horrible store. Managers usually talk out of their ass.
 
I wasn't on the internet all weekend because I was packing and moving to my university. Looks like I missed out on this big time :( Any chance of more going up?

Kind of pissed off I listed to the gaffer moron yesterday who was making fun of people buying them for 99 dollars just because they were cheap (and worthless crap). Had I watched the videos on youtube earlier, I would have pulled the trigger on the 149.99 model at Best Buy this morning when I had the chance. Still didn't think it was that great of a deal, and was holding out for a 99 dollar model. Now I'm kicking myself.

Man, Best Buy never fulfills pick up orders even on a normal product. That's just how Best Buy works unfortunately.
 
Apparently, my friend was looking on Amazon's 32GB Touchpad main page when the Lightning Deal went live.

He paid the original price for it and is now getting a price adjustment.

I've had so many problems with this store, I do not go unless I absolutely have to. Unless another deal like this comes up I won't go back. Too many other good places that have good service to go to.

You shouldn't have listened either way. $99 for a tablet that's probably going to be hacked for Android use is a STEAL.

Eh, I'd say YMMV. I ordered a Panasonic 32in 720p HDTV for in-store pickup when it was on sale, and not only did I get it, they accidentally gave me the 1080p version to boot.
 
Did any other Best Buys have a huge sign in the front window advertising the Touchpad saying "AVAILABLE NOW" in huge letters? It was pretty ironic seeing as the store I went to had zero, and apparently the sign was put up the morning AFTER HP announced they were discontinuing the tablet.
 
Managed to get one from BB, one from Ammazon, one from Ebay, and possibly 2 from HP. If I get the extras they will be available to Gaf (not for $100, I was charged NY sales tax/shipping on these unfortunately)

I've used in-store pick-up probably 25 times or so since it's been an option, and only once did I have an issue (the item wasn't behind the counter, they had to go searching in back for one). Most of those experiences were at the same store, so maybe that's why I've been lucky.

Yeah. I just figured that because the Nook Color (which already was hacked to Android) wasn't much more money, it really wasn't that big of a deal. Somebody else quickly agreed with him and I moved on. It's clearly my fault, but wish I had a do over on how I handled this.

When I realized it's cheaper than even the cheapest Kindle, it really started to sink in how much you're getting for your money here.
 
There was a line outside of Best Buy this morning. They had five in stock. Missed that one.

Went to Staples, they were cleaned out. Radioshack too.

Oh well.

BEst Buy finally put a stylus out to try with the flyer and it's completely f*cking un-intuitive.

My kingdom for a tablet with a god damn input device for drawing! >:O
 
I ordered one this morning from Bestbuy.com 16GB for $107 shipped w/ tax and then $10 off for the AMEX facebook link. Are the orders from this morning still going through fine as far as everyone knows? I have current status as "1 item(s) - Order in process of being fulfilled; Usually ships in null - null days".
 
BHphoto order was complete, got confirmation email for 32gb at $150. Then half hour later another email... OOPS sorry, you can ask for money back or wait till more come in stock.
 
Crap I thought for sure my HP SB order wouldn't go through so I grabbed one when it went live on bestbuy.com at 4am. Looks like both orders are a go, DOH!

I wouldn't get too hyped for Android on this thing, guys. Every high end Android tablet has a 16:10 screen and that means that every android app is designed to run 16:10, and the Touchpad is 4:3.

Well, that actually makes me feel better about not being able to find one! That, along with the possibility of a competitively priced Amazon Android tablet in the near future.
 
So um, will these be eventually stocked without any issues since there are thousands of units out there?

I mean they are selling out due to the sudden radical price drop but will this...what's happening right now stop? Will the last few units out there sale at a slower rate?

I'm curious because I'd like to get another one later on without having to be online for like 12 hours at a time hoping it doesnt sell out online/instore every minute or so they go up.
 
Web OS runs great on this bad boy. Being an ipad owner and an android smartphone owner, I am extremely impressed with the OS.
 
Oh, those ebay auctions with the 32GB models going for $300 plus were fake bids.
All you need to do is look at the bid history, all the top bids were from people with 0 or 1 feedback.

Actual resale prices were stabilizing around 190-200 for 16gb and 230 for 32gb.
I'm sure they've dropped since then.
 
Well best buy still has my in-store pickup order pending. I would like them to shit or get off the pot with my order. I would be shocked if there was any kind of genuine mystery as to whether or not they can fill it (twss.)

I got there at 8:45 am. Like 20 people already there. I'm like, this isn't good.

I walk up to the door, BB employee tells me there are no more, I do an immediate about face back to my car.

Guy like 10 steps behind me does the same thing, haha.

Then I go to a home town buffet across the shopping center to have a shitty breakfast, now I feel like shit, lol.
