Man, Watch Dogs 2 had a great open world but story and characters were meh. I did like to tool around it it though.I have a similar problem with linear games. I don't enjoy them as much anymore. I prefer open areas to explore. As for Ubisoft games, they have made great open worlds no matter how much some people try to deny this
Ghost Recon Wildlands has a fantastic open world with different biomes and cities, I love that game. Same goes for Watch Dogs 2 open world, it's awesome. They definitely have talent but there is a decline in terms of quality in their latest games, Watch Dogs 3 open world was quite underwhelming, same goes AC Shadows or Avatar.
I love me some good open worlds and Ubisoft has provided that in the past but lately they seem to have lost their magic

I still need to try the new Ghost Recons. Which one is decent for SP, Wildlands?
Thanks, going to try it out. And yeah, I did like WD2 which is why Legion was such a let down. What the hell were they thinking?Yeah I agree that the story and writing in WD2 is not the greatest but I think it's a great game nonetheless
As for Ghost Recon, Wildlands open world is awesome and one of the best tactical games in the market
What's weird is that Watch Dogs 2 and Odyssey had a lot of things going on in the Open World. Ubisoft's design degraded since those games, IMO.I don't hate Ubisoft open worlds but they really need to look at Where Winds Meet for a better idea at how to populate the world with things to do and see. I'm currently playing through AC Shadows for the first time and while I am enjoying it (mostly), there is SO MUCH NOTHING in between points of interest. Even in Kyoto there are only a select few people to interact with, which really makes the world feel less alive than WWM
I need to go back and actually play that game, I hear its better now after some fixes. I am very disappointed that it did not sell well and that the sequel was scrapped. I am not a huge Star Wars fan but I did enjoy the new Jedi series from Respawn Entertainment and Star Wars Outlaws I feel like could have had a great potential.I've been trying to play Star Wars Outlaws. I can't do all this sneaking around. Can I simply go into an area blasting? I heard that removing sneaking got patched after other complaints.
I'm about to bail on SWO and look for something else. I wanted to give it a try since it's on Gamepass but this is more frustrating than fun.
I partially agree with you OP.Say what you want to but Ubi perfected the formula for open-world games, milking them to the maximum.
I found out I was playing recently almost exclusively Ubisoft games: Outlaws, Shadows, Valhalla, Avatar, Far Cry 6, etc.
Linear games do not give me any fun anymore.
And I still don't understand the general hate towards Ubisoft. Their stocks are hit hard but I do not see the reason for that in their low performing games.
Am I the only one loving Ubisoft output?
If you enjoy it, why do you care what people think??I still don't understand the general hate towards Ubisoft.
Yawn, they're boring as f imoFar better open world games.
Kingdom come deliverance 2
Red dead redemption 2
I second this. Odyssey (and Origins) are the best open worlds from a Western company ever. The last one I really enjoyed from any developer was ass creed odyssey. It was really good.
While the majority of their stuff is bland I always respect their first attempts.Say what you want to but Ubi perfected the formula for open-world games, milking them to the maximum.

What you describe is near-exactly what videogame hell would be like for me.Say what you want to but Ubi perfected the formula for open-world games, milking them to the maximum.
