I work right next to a busy freeway. If your radio is loud enough to be heard from 50 feet away, then it will be louder even than the truck traffic.

I can't imagine the state of the driver's ears if they're playing something that's louder than a truck at 50 feet.

Have some dignity man. Did you ever think that they could've planted something in there to make their traffic stop a little more worthwhile? Or maybe a passenger you had unknowingly dropped some contraband in your ride without you knowing.

Just err on the side of caution in the future and tell them 'No'.

I just found out I have a warrant in DC, so I'm really not feeling those assholes ATM.
You're right. I could have easily told him no, and probably should have. I guess it just seemed kinda shady with me having no license on me and supposedly he couldn't find my name in "the system." (which is odd, because I definitely have a valid license) So I was trying to be as cooperative as possible.

none of my business, but since you brought it up, i'm curious. what do you have a warrant for?

Wait, he actually break your radar detector? How?
Well all I know is that my radar detector worked when I left the house to pick up my gf. And after the cop situation it no longer worked.

I turn the radar detector on with the spinning switch on the side by pushing it forward. You push it forward until it clicks (which turns it on), and continue to spin it forward to turn up the volume. You turn it off by spinning it back until it clicks. And the switch doesn't click anymore, almost like he turned it off but kept forcefully spinning it back to break it. I can't get it to turn on anymore. It just keeps spinning with no click in both directions.

sorry if that didn't make any sense, its kinda hard to describe. It's a cheap 40 dollar radar detector and I've had it for almost 2 years. But it's saved my ass so many times it's not even funny. And the fact that it suddenly breaks on me after a cop searches my car is a little too suspicious if you know what I mean.

Find the cop, pull him over, search his car, and them break his radar gun.

It's only fair.

Actually, I'm glad cops (or po pos or pigs or whatever people call them) give out tickets for loud music. I don't care if it was rap or country. My big thing though is driving in a car and hearing some loud ass music with the words like bitch, fuck, pussy, dick, ho etc being screamed out of a radio with kid in the car. No one wants to hear your shit (a general "your", not the OP).

In a related matter, sorry to use this thread like this.

My neighbor keeps bumping the base all the time. Can I file a noise complaint as a citizen against my horrible neighbor?

To the OP: Sucks, but you can always go to court.
