I'm sorry but the US anthem is terrible. I can name you many anthems better than the american one.

When delivered properly, it sounds pretty great too. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9ETrr-XHBjE
Through tempests the sun of freedom shone to us,
And the great Lenin illuminated our path,
We were raised by Stalin to be true to the people,
To labour and heroic deeds he inspired us!

The Russian anthem is still my favorite. This sends chills down my spine. It was the only thing worth saving during the Sotchi olympics lol

Amazing.
For what it's worth, despite not being the "National Anthem," Rule, Britannia! > All

Has the strength and resolve as a pile of wet carpet ruined after your sump pump stops working.
US national anthem is terrible. Nobody can sing it and it's painful listening to people try. USSR and France are indeed top tier.
All I can think of when hearing this is winning a match in COD.
It was funny in Tinker Tailor Soldier Spy, when the Santa-Lenin hybrid came in at the Christmas party and started playing this song, everybody got up and started singing it. Even John Le Carre was in the shot.
That's what's fun about the US one. When someone does have the chops to sing it well, it can be very powerful. But yes, it is hard to sing.
Whitney Houston Sings "The Star-Spangled Banner" at the 1991 Super Bowl
Nope, sorry, that's still pretty bad.
(And is just made worse by the fact that it's at a handegg game)
On that note, I came across a US version of it, which is the most bizarre thing.

As performed by James Earl Jones?
Paul Robeson, and there's nothing bizarre about a leftist singing the song of the biggest communist power.
You beat me to it
Also, to answer MrChom i'd say the Welsh also have the awesome Cwm Rhondda, aka Bread of Heaven to the English. "Hymns and Arias" is another old-school favorite at the Rugby together with "Sospan Bach" which i haven't heard for a while if i'm honest though.
There's also the derogatory "You can stick your bloody chariot up your arse.", which again i haven't heard for ages, not on TV anyway
You're the worst.

The French one is great. That scene in Casablanca is great.
lol so much shame for liking the anthem here
