I hereby declare Metroid Prime 2 to be...

I'm 40% of the way through MP2 and it's an excellent game. However, so far the levels are not as varied as MP's. The hopping between light and dark world is a little confusing but I'm getting used to the mechanic now. Oh, and the dark beam charge combo is an awesome weapon!

Prime's my game of the generation, I guess I should give Prime 2 a second chance since I got bored out of my skull switching back and forth through the stupid light and dark worlds (tedious more than difficult) about 30% of the way in.

Also, I hate the Ing.

I prefer the first one by a large margin. I find it unecessary declaring "which one is the superior game - period", because every gamer who has played those two games has his own opinion - period. My two cents.

I find the Chozo more interesting than the Luminoth. The Dark World areas kind of ruined the beauty of the light world areas. The level layout was better in Prime. Echoes uses a similiar setup to that of Fusion, which is more like a subsystem, where it connects at top and spreads out from there, instead of the more interwoven style of Prime. I like the interwoven style more and it feels more alien.

Sanctuary Fortress automatically made Echoes better than the original game. The puzzles, design, and even boss fights were just too damn good to be in a Metroid Prime game.

I agree with this... the weird thing is... not that i have a problem with either game overall but.. this bugged me a lot more in Prime 2 than it did in Fusion.

I mentioned in the prime appreciation thread the other day, how i got confused in the damn hub rooms just remembering which one went where! I hate circular rooms in 3d games! Prime 1's world to me then, feels much less 'game-like' than Prime 2's.

All this discussion brings up an interesting point.. with Prime 3 they've said we'll be visiting multiple planets... now i've been worrying how they're going to do this without ruining that lonely warrior on a solitary planet feel that IS Metroid! There's nothing i love more than running into a new elevator room that out of nowhere, connects you with the beginnings of the game! It'd be kinda lame if they just achieve that by replacing elevators with 'travel in your ship via cutscene!'.

hint : with dark world based creatures, use the light beam ^^

and on the light ether creature use the dark beam!

I don't hate them because they're tough to kill. I hate them because they look retarded and the whole light/dark thing is waaaay overplayed.
