holy shit OP just found this thread randomly and read through it all in one sitting. All I can say is WHAT THE FUCKING FUCK?!?!? So glad you sold the house, congratulations you really deserve nothing but the best for what you've been through, now run the fuck away as far as you can!!!!!!!

They didn't even do any inspections, they never even came by to see the house again. Why would you fucking sign the papers only to back out.

You are close man... someone will bite. Lower the price if you have to, do whatever it takes. You need out of this situation. I'd rather sell it for a few thousand less than I wanted just to be done with it all. Then you can finally move on.

No kidding. Is there any way to contact the people who wanted to buy and see why they backed out? Maybe you can reach an agreement or find out what happened. Maybe if you dropped a few thousand they would reconsider?

As soon as it's sold, at whatever price, just run, run far away from these people. Run till your legs stop working.

Read the whole thread. My god man, I feel really sorry for all that you've had to suffer with.

My advice:

Record EVERY INTERACTION with the people you're stuck living with.

Anything weird happens, you have audio evidence.

I really don't know what else to say. Hell, if your uncle is pissing out the window? Record it. Video if you can. Confront him. If he starts talking back and giving you shit, show the police he's causing property damage.

I'd keep a device backed up to the cloud at all times on me that you can enable/disable audio/video recording at will.

If you don't have internet access in the house, recording on the device is fine. But who knows, with all the crazy shit you've been dealing with I wouldn't be surprised if they destroy whatever you're recording with (or attempt to).

A normal person would see this story as bullshit, whereas my brother is commonly known by his friends as Captain Save-a-hoe, a combination of his low self esteem and his very poor taste in women always has him bringing home crazy, nasty, psycho bitches. She tells me she was kicked out of her roomates house because she stabbed her friend with a knife, then tells my mother she cant go home because the father her child and his family is trying to kill her, and then tells everyone "the truth" that she's being hunted by her roomates because she was their "sex slave".

What the fuck ever. I called the cops on her as soon as I heard that last story, and she ran. He gets all upset and starts crying that he's in love, yadda yadda. She's still here and he's keeping us here. but whatever, my mom and I are going to court on friday to get a restraining order on her and my brother (again) so we dont have to deal with this shit because....

Congratulations, man! I literally just stumbled on this thread about 15 minutes ago and read the first and last couple of pages. Sounds like a nightmare.

I was really surprised your house was located in Los Angeles. Blew my mind this was all happening 3 miles from where I used to live (downtown). From what you told me I totally expected this situation to be in Hickville, Rural America or something with the pissing and shitting on the floor and a motorcycle in a dining room and all that.

I hope you get your life back on track soon and stay the fuck away from those psychotic parasites. Best of luck to you, and I hope you update this thread in the future with nothing but good news!
 
Well not every buyer has backed out, and Im very reasonable on the terms. The ones that backed out we agreed on the lower price they offered. So far we've only signed on 3 offers, the first two backed out before escrow.

This is the only one that has gone so far as to file the escrow papers before backing out.

The only shady part I can find is that all the offers that we accepted we're all cash offers, an all of them have backed out.

It's very stressful, I accept their offers and we talk and everything seems fine, then a week later we hear either something didnt work out like they expected, their loan was rejected or some other generic excuse.

None of it has to do with the house or it's condition, as none of the accepted buyers came back to do any inspections or second look over.
 
Just out of curiosity, does your address show up on any public record incident reports or Google searches?

Hmm... do you find anything that could explain that if you google the house address? Or maybe the buyers just talked with your neighbours... Around here there's usually a 10% fee if you back around after you have signed the papers (unless the inspection reveals something serious etc.) I guess you don't have the same, or you'd at least have made some cash already.

I search the address, all that comes up is 10 pages worth of realty sites. How would I check about any incident reports?

Im talking with my realtor agent, he's about as pissed as I am.
 
You would think some mass murder happened there with all of these people backing out at the last second. Makes no sense.
 
I just read the thread and there are no words I can reply with that I feel would provide any real meaning, but I'll try anyways.

I've been through some shit, but you've been through buckets of it (probably literally).

You're a good person, and you deserve a chance to get the happiness you deserve.

I sincerely hope one of these jackasses who keep "buying" the house and then backing out will turn out to not be a jackass and actually buy it.

I don't know what anyone else in the house is going to do when you sell it, but I say don't even consider doing anything to help them once you have the house sold for real.

I know there's nothing I can do to really help you, but either way I'll hope that the laws of probability dictate that at some point some good things need to happen to you.

The last offer we got was shit, but we got a new offer that was waaaay better than the one that flaked out.

They signed escrow, they deposited money into the escrow already and I just finished going though all the rooms and the house with the buyer, the realtor and the contract inspector.

They all loved it, they all agreed it has some issues but the buyer is dead set on buying this house no matter the issues. He WANTS to fix the house where I left off.

Congrats, man. First time posting in this thread, but I've read the whole thing about a week ago and damn. Such a messed up story.

But I'm happy that things are finally going in a different direction. I have had to cut off toxic family members in the past, too, and I know the harm those people can cause. You feel some guilt and regret at first, but it's not your fault and eventually, you just feel tremendous relief. It's so much more liberating in the long run without the constant negative influences. I look back now with no regret.

I hope you can successfully find a happier place in life to be, you deserve it.

Just saw this thread for the first time today and all I can say is holy shit. I'm glad it looks like you are finally selling the house. After everything is finalized move very far away, like several states or more if possible, and don't tell your family where you went. You have done more than any sane person should have in that situation. Get away and start living your life for yourself and cut these cancerous people out of your life.
