I need a recomendation, Battlefield 1 or Titanfall 2?

I found TF2 to be the most fun Ive had playing multi in years and felt like the equivalent of a stylish action game but an FPS.

BF1 I found super frustrating and not fun.

Really? I found it quite hard to get anything going in Titanfall 2. The maps didn't allow for paths like Angel City in TF1 did where you could get really creative. It was like blue balls for your parkour.

Overwatch :)

But seriously, out of those two it'd be better to just wait for reviews given your taste in FPS games. I'd personally pick BF1 though.

Titanfall 2 for me :)

This year Gears 4 for my Xbox and Titanfall 2 for my PS4 will be my shooters!

Not sure what to do about COD to be honest, I mean I like COD just not keen on a split player base this time around and the huge buy in to get both

Both betas were somewhat underwhelming, but the TF2 beta angered me for abandoning the core of what made TF1 great. Surprisingly, I ended up having more fun playing BF1. Considering TF1 is far and away my favorite MP experience thus far in this gen, it's almost painful to recommend BF1 instead.

I had a surprising amount of fun with Battlefield 1.

Titanfall was good, but didn't convince me to buy it. But I'm not crazy about COD style gameplay. SP looks interesting though so I may pick it up after a price drop.

Battlefield 1 if you want boots on ground class gameplay in a historical setting, Titanfall 2 if you want a wall running/advanced mobility futuristic shooter with giant robots. Both should
be fun.

Ironically, both of those things were watered down in BF1 and TF2 in favor of vehicle-gameplay (BF1) or CoD style gameplay (TF2).

TF 2 if you like mobility and twitchy gameplay. Although the beta was disappointing I personally would take TF 2 cause I'm not a fan of BF games

BF1 is a super safe choice. It will receive great support, is already a ton of fun, and is in a good place pre-release. TF2 might not have a lot of content, could get shit support, and could be great or mediocre depending on whether Respawn can figure out if they're making a bad COD game or TF2.

Good question. I have no idea.

Usually I would think that those games will be amazing, but I fear that TF2 will be somr bad CoD game and BF1 as boring as Battlefront.

if you don't know the differences between those 2 games then you're either new to gaming or just want to start a new thread...those 2 games couldn't be more different...a person would already know which game they prefer...it's not like you are choosing between 2 similar games...

Way to be helpful.

TF2 hands down.

We all know that obliteration was the only good mode in BF series on console.

Bounty Hunt is the new Drop Pod.. fun fast and objective based.

Hardpoint with AI gonna be fun ass hell too.

Attrition and CTF gonna make this game great for team play.

Did you not play the two open betas for these games?

Yup. If you've played any Battlefield game or COD games you already know what you're getting yourself into. I'm not sure how much random strangers could help with your preferences.

If you're not that into fps games and you're just looking for something to play with your group, I would recommend Overwatch. It's not new but it's a fantastic game that's very easy to get into.

Titanfall 2 for sure. Battlefield is good if you like the big open areas, but the pacing isn't good, and half the time you're just running back to the action. It got old really quick. I'm glad I played the beta, so that I won't buy it. Titanfall 2 is interesting and fast, and surprisingly held my attention a lot longer than I thought it would. I'm genuinely excited for its release, especially after seeing all the new Titans to use.

Battlefield 1 for sure. Was not a fan of the TF2 beta at all, but I loved the beta for BF1. The setting/era and weapons are just really appealing to me.

I'm not even sure. I would never spend much time on BF1 as it isn't my game, but I don't know how to recommend R2.

Battlefield 1 beta was fucking boring as batshit and frankly not very good. Titanfall 2 was a shite version of the first game.

But at least Titanfall 2 would be a decent game on its own if you never touched the first game so go Titanfall 2.

Do you want Sandbox? or: Do you want Mechs that kinda wear their welcome out after a week if the first game is any indication?

Go with whatever one you answer for that.

If you've never played Destiny, get the Collection which comes out in a couple weeks.

But out of those two, both betas bored me. I'd wait for reviews.

I'd say BF1, but I am biased towards those games. It will be a nice compliment to OW and Siege for me. I did not enjoy my time with TF2 (didn't help I couldn't play it on my platform of choice though).

I just don't see how you can decide based on someone elses opinions. I loved Titanfall 1, Battlefield 4 (both on PC), and blops 3 (on PS4) like you. My brother was more or less the same. He loved Titanfall 2 and hated battlefield 1 and isn't that enthusiastic about IW.

On the other hand I loved battlefield 1, hated Titanfall 2, and really look forward to IW. I'm buying all 3, although titanfall 2 is a 50/50 cancel depending on how the pc beta goes (if there isn't one, 100% cancel). My brother is on the fence, definitely not getting BF1, maybe on T2, we may try to share my IW digital buy or he'll play it and buy after launch if he likes it.

You really, really just need to try the betas or demos for the games, its just going to be such a personal decision. I don't know how exactly you'd get to beta the games anymore, I think BF1 isn't going to have any more, I do know IW will have a beta for pre orders in Oct and not sure whats going to happen with Titanfall 2. Failing that, just watching VOD twitch streams of other people playing those games in a live environment (not canned demos) may give you an idea of which you might like more.

I'm sort of in the same boat and similarly torn.

Battlefield 1 looks and sounds absolutely phenomenal, and when you're with a squad that sticks together (or can sidle up with another squad that's working well), it can be a great time. When that doesn't work out, though, it's kind of a drag. Even when playing my best, I never really felt like I had much agency in whether my team won or lost.

The Titanfall 2 beta felt like a defanged Titanfall proper, with a whole host of issues, but I felt like I had more fun with it overall. It turns out that even if Titanfall takes a few huge steps back, it's still an OK time.

Personally leaning toward Titanfall 2 at the moment. For me, I had more fun with the multiplayer, the campaign sounds more interesting (not what you're looking for, but still), and free map DLC should keep what community is there from being segregated once it drops. Still needs a lot of work, and I don't think it'll ever really be the game I hoped it to be, but it seems alright.

I'm sure the $50 content that comes with the Battlefield 1 season pass will be good, but it's not something I'm willing to cough up on top of the cost of the game.

I loved my time with the BF1 beta. I ended up putting ~22 hours into it -- it was the only thing I played while it was up. It seems to be a good, solid Battlefield title, and the return to a low-tech setting is a godsend. That said, it still has some of the usual DICE jank, like dusting and unreliable mantling. But all told, I think this has the very real potential of being the best Battlefield since the switch to Frostbite.

Titanfall 2 fell pretty short of being the sequel I wanted, but I think it's still largely a good game if considered on its own. If you would rather go with a COD-style shooter, this seems to be the one to go with this year. Especially if you dug BLOPS3, as TF2 is like a fancy BLOPS3 expansion pack. If you want more of that, plus big stompy robots, you probably can't go wrong here.

Unless you have a serious nostalgia-boner for COD4 of course, in which case you might want that remastered version. Infinite Warfare itself looks pretty mediocre so far.

Personally, my plan is to get BF1 at launch and keep a casual eye on Titanfall 2. If the PC version ends up being good and if the playerbase seems solid, I'll probably get it later (though I'm expecting it to be a trainwreck that's DOA given it was a no-show for the beta).

TF2 was the pinnacle of disappointment in a sequel. BF1 was fucking fantastic, and I played every day of the beta consistently, hitting rank 47 by the final day.

I'm buying both but I wish they were releasing further apart because, like you, I tend to play 1 game at a time.

I enjoyed both betas. I liked the BF1 beta more but that was probably largely because it had my favorite game type (Conquest) for BF games, whereas TF2 did not have my preferred type for that game (Attrition or at least a TDM type). These are really different games even though they are both FPS and you already know that if you have played BF3/BF4 and COD, that is if you played Conquest on BF rather than primarily TDM / Squad DM. TF2 is faster paced like a COD game. I would call it more or a "refined" COD game without the tiny maps and ridiculous killstreaks. It also has much better net code in my opinion. Your Titan is your reward for playing well, though you will still get one eventually even if you don't play well. BF1 is the same BF experience as it's been for a while now in my opinion, with a WWI setting and the pace slowed down a bit because the vehicles don't move as fast. The learning curve in BF1 will surely be higher than TF2, with bigger maps to learn, more weapons and kits, and all the vehicles. BF1 will also be the more team oriented game in public matches. Before the betas came out I was looking forward to TF2 a lot more than BF1 and I was thinking I'd get TF2 day one and probably wait a month or more and pick up BF1 used or on sale. After the betas, I've kind of gone the other way and I'm looking forward to BF1 a little bit more and will definitely pick it up day one. I also have been playing TF1 all summer after never having playing it before so I'm probably slightly burned out on the formula and ready to put a lot of time back into a BF game, which brings me back to my original point. I think both are going to be great games so decide if you are more in the mood for the smaller (but not COD small) faster paced one or the larger BF experience.

Not impressed with either. If you had an Xbox I would say Gears of War 4 even though it's not an FPS. I would definitely recommend Siege, best multiplayer shooter of this generation and the community is still very active.

Titanfall has a very questionable future as fans really dislike the game and most casual players will go to battlefield or cod.

It's undeniably fun but there is a bad air of negativity around it.

For long term, Battlefield is bound to have the bigger community.

If u like blops 3, youd like Titanfall. Movement is faster and more fluid. But unfortunately the maps dont seem to do it justice. The community is hoping for the final map list to be as good as #1.

Titan play is also very, very fun. With 6 titans, there is a whole lot of variety and just wrecking pilots is just very enjoyable. Imagine getting a cod killstreak that you can get 3 minutes into the game without having to actually earn a killstreak. That's what it feels like. I love the titan play

Also, single player sounds promising since the devs made cod4 and mw2.

Ill get titanfall 2 only if map design is solid but im not holding my breath. I think youll enjoy it. Also it has free maps so you can buy the game and be at ease. That said, battlefield will likely have much more maps

Im definitely getting battlefield because it's incredibly refreshing from bf4. I hated bf4.

There are lots of changes to battlefield that will feel different and refreshing to you, from the guns, ttk, spotting, and class design.

I think its so much better than bf4.

BF1 for sure, no game did a better job in making me believe I was truly in the middle of a war.
