I shaved my privates and am now suffering.

I pluck the shaft and shave the balls.
I have done this so many times that the pain doesn't bother me anymore. Takes a long time, though, lots of hair on my penis. Takes a while to grow back, so it's worth it.

Did this a few times for giggles as a teen. You stay in the shower, but it doesn't help. Fun times.
OT: The first time or first time in a while can cause annoying itching. Baby powder is good, but I would use something like Nivea Creme there for a while. It gets better with more times you do it.
I'm not sure why you think a woman would laugh at a shaved sack and a trimmed bush.
What does being a pornstar have to do with it?

I think the optimal setup is everything clean shaven except the extension of your happy trail, all the way down to the shaft. But hair on the base of the shaft has to go. Also on the sides. On a bonus-day, maybe even aaall the way back there. But it kind of sucks the next day. And for a week after that.

Maybe he means that if you have a small dick it can look like a kid's dick completely shaven. Otherwise I don't get it.
I sometimes shave everything away, sometimes trim and once in a while make a arrow or some other patterns that I think are funny. Shaft and balls I always shave because hair in your mouth doesn't usually feel good.

Should be fine, just make sure you never slide the razor left or right. Same rules as your face really, but on your face it's easier to do a nice line and then do the next bit. Downstairs there's not as much room so take you time!
Crabs are actually on the decline , believed to be because of how much people now actually look after their pubes.

This research is more relevant to females than men, but I can see how it applies to our gender also. It just takes a few strokes of a razor to keep those lice at bay, and from what I've heard in the past, the feeling of rubbing your hand down a freshly shaved groin area is a very satisfying feeling.
Well I don't know what he is thinking. Is a micropenis better when it's hidden in the bush or out in the open, I don't know.
I'm thinking maybe I will shave a lighting shape today. It looks fun if I can get it cut right.

I don't know if I just have different ball skin texture or maybe I'm just really good at doing it but I have never had itchiness or discomfort soon after shaving. If anything it's starts getting itchy once hair starts getting too long again.

I think this is why. If you're gonna do it, at least use a decent new razor with a healthy amount of shower gel or shaving foam. I've shaved my balls fairly frequently in the past and never had this issue, aside from very occasional discomfort when the stubble returns to a certain length.

Also, I shave my balls, back, crotch, legs, shoulders, chest, etc. I shave it all. Only once did I accidently make myself bleed from the nuts from a poor razor shave choice.
A mistake I will never make again...the horror. The pain. The blood.

I'd think by the time you get to that point it doesn't matter a whole lot unless you're packing a genuine gorilla salad.
It really doesn't matter as long as you just keep clean and trimmed.

Same hurr! You should use plenty of shaving cream downstairs dude. It's a very particular area when it comes to being shaved.

Yep. Tried this once, never again. The prickliness of newly-grown ball stubble is simply maddening. It's why I've never allowed myself to expect a woman to shave down there either. A nice trim is really all one should respect from a sane individual.
There's no consensus. Some people like their partner shaved, some trimmed, some like it grown out. It'll depend on your partner!

There's your problem. You're actually trying to shave down there. Just trim it. No need for shaving cream. I use a mixture of a scissors (with lots of patience) and the sideburns extension of an electric razor. The scissors for longer follicles that you can hold multiple by hand and cut, then the razor for free hand (stroke the opposite way that the follicles are leaning so the resistance cuts them, this is easier for parts that you can't quite see, or get a good view of, don't use the scissors for that or you'll have a bad time). The sideburns extension gives you more precision. There's probably a far more sophisticated method to this that I've never bothered to look up, but that's how I do it.
Honestly I'd never let shaving cream or any actual skin/implement contact go on down there.
As a man my only reply is that I don't want a forest in my face while I'm going down, and I can only imagine the same is true for others. Probably not all feel the same.
At the end of the day its more for your own comfort than anyone elses. If you don't care and your girl wants you bald or beastlike, go for it. If you don't know, I'd keep it trimmed.
Yeah, first time is rough but it'll stop and you'll eventually find it more comfortable than when you had a crotch full of tumbleweeds. Only time it gets itchy again is after the hair has grown back in substantially... like a week or so after a clean shave, and even then it won't be nearly as bad as it is now. Also chicks will dig it.

Same thing happened to me the first time I shaved my balls bare. I was doing factory work at the time so it rubbed my thighs raw.
Best thing I found was after work I'd put my balls in a baggie full of lotion.
The lesson is to never go bald, just tame the bush down like a crew cut.
Any idea how long the prickling may last? It's been nearly two weeks.
At least it's not itchy.

The only way to keep a groin stubble from giving you hell is making it disappear by either letting it grow back to normal or outright negating it, so yeah, shaving each day/every two days in the shower is a good way to fix that.
It goes without saying that not everybody is willing to go through that.
Yeah, I'm not particularly keen on doing it everyday.
Just gonna wait it out..

Just shaved my balls today actually, in anticipation of the sex I probably won't have tonight. I've never had an issue with it OP, and girls seem to like it.

i shave regularly in the shower and have never had an issue with itch or any such things. ymmv etc but do try it. I don't even use proper shaving cream, just some hippie soap.
