Well yeah, if they can afford to decline a job, then I'd say they have a choice. Kinda. There's so many ways society can coerce people into doing things that it's hard to answer did they really have a choice. Then there's personal motivations as well.
It's really lazy, it's an appeal to base desires and for only 50% of your potential market (which is pretty stupid and not taking into account other sexual orientations either). I don't like capitalism and I'm better than most capitalists at this, why are you marketing to only 50% of the population?
Then we have how things like booth babes make other women feel, it reinforces that gaming isn't for them. Something which was bought up at CES this year by women in the industry:
