I was called a 'faggot' today.

So that pissed me off quite a bit, and if it weren't in a classroom then I would have done some street justice.

If you don't handle it in the streets, the streets will handle you. Or else you'll be forever known as the guy who can be touched at anytime without repercussions.

Well, if he's expelled, he certainly had it coming, however, I think it would be much more beneficial to all if he was obligated to assist to psychology treatments. The man obviously has anger issues, and being expelled will not help at all.

People in university need to learn to be more professional. When I was there (just finished this year), I saw countless of people who acted as if they were still in high school.

I live in a small town in the middle of nowhere. I hate to stereotype, but there are A LOT of hillbilly / redneck types in my town. A good deal of them are great people, just law of the land / simple folks, they would give you the shirt off their backs if you needed it.

The other week my neighbors were drunk and began calling me a "faggot" simply because I was in a suit and talking business on my phone in my back yard. Never mind the fact I have a 11 month old son and girlfriend. Simply because of the way I dress and conduct myself I was labeled as a faggot.

It didn't end up going so well. I called my neighbors wife a bitch and her husband came over to my house to 'stir something up'. When he stepped over my property line I popped the trunk on my car and grabbed a baseball bat.

I closed the trunk, stared at him without words and started beating the bat against my open palm. His wife started pleading for him to 'please come back!!!', he made a few short remarks and walked back home to his wife.

Since then, they wont so much as look in my direction. Feels good man

lmfao. youre a fuckin' psycho, homie.

I'm merely saying that maybe trying to figure out what his problem is is more important then jumping on him and expelling him. He's young and making stupid mistakes, but they're mistakes that could be examined and rectified instead of throwing the book at him. I agree that his actions aren't something people should have to deal with, but I'd rather them try and figure out what his problem is and fix it then casting him aside.

Maybe having some negative consequences for his behavior will make HIM realize he needs some help. Ignoring it does nothing for him and yet makes it difficult for those who have to deal with him. Sounds like he's been a problem for teachers and other students. I don't feel any sympathy for this guy. It's not hard to not be an asshole to others.

i laughed at street justice

guy who shoved you was a bitch though. Good thing you didn't react back in any way that would harm yourself too.

I got called a 'faggot' by some total club bro once for mindlessly gazing while outside a bar at a woman he came with.

Yeah, about that Einstein...

Haha, oh man. I honestly don't blame you for this. If some one is acting physically threatening to you then there is no problem with having some protection.

This thread is honestly baffling me right now. OP explains dealing with an unstable guy who insulted him before proceeding to shove him in the middle of a class, and we have how many posts attacking the OP for it? What am I in fucking bizarro world?

OP, at least your interaction with him served as both a basis of getting him expelled and getting some truly backasswords posters on GAF banned. Holy shit.

I agree up to this part, what the hell does this part even mean?

drunk dude heckling is super harmless

especially vs guy with jason mask and bat in his trunk

So you're telling me that you think a drunk man who just had his wife insulted and his heading towards you is harmless?

I am seriously blown away by this post. I would've grabbed the bat as well for protection.

Drunk people are unpredictable. Far from "super harmless."

I once had a neighbor who was a really nice lady. one night she broke up with her boyfriend and got super drunk. My sister saw her try to get in her car and went over to talk her out of it.

The neighbor beat the living dog shit out of my sister.

Expulsion from a UNIVERSITY for calling someone that?

That seems a little extreme. Haven't heard of anything like that.

I walked into a club in Key West with my girlfriend and a large group of a friends once wearing the below hat (Back to the Future II McFly style!) and I was the only one the bouncer made a comment to.

He almost didn't let me in, despite my age - "no gay hats, bro."

I made a well fuck you face, walked past him, and the place ended up sucking anyway. We left a few minutes later and found much more interesting places to be drunk in.

Well shit, now I'm just conflicted because that really is a gay hat.

I had to put things like this in perspective a long time ago. People that verbally abuse others have issues. Don't let someone who has issues get under your skin.

Should've been wearing it backwards bro

i got called 'faggot' a week ago. i met eyes with this guy as we were passing each other in cars slowly.

i'd be more upset by getting shoved than the insult.

Sounds like he's got a little crush on you he is currently unaware of.

Someone hating on someone:

"Bro's probably gay for you, bro."

Not sure if you're kidding, and I'm definitely overreacting, but this response annoys me.

Bro, no crush on you, bro.

People Calling sgi02 psycho for needing a bat to defend himself? If you are from USA, would a gun been better?

Also, I Think that he shouldn't be expelled due to the fact:

  1. I assume it is the first time this have happened physically that is? Everyone deserves a second chance.
  2. Sounds like he might have issues at home, with himself or something, expelling would make matter worse most probalby.
  3. I firmly belive that sorting things out between peers and univeristy staff would be the best solution. Let him go with a warning and aplogy to you, if it happens again... well then the line would be crossed.

Cool, you got Docpan expelled from university.

Expulsion from a UNIVERSITY for calling someone that?

That seems a little extreme. Haven't heard of anything like that.

I know it feels like total freedom and that you can do anything you want but when you enroll at an university you are also agreeing to follow a code of conduct.

Don't matter if you didn't read the fine print, yes you can expelled for shit like this. Don't forget he also technically assaulted the OP and in a classroom and in front of a professor to boot.

Getting expelled from an university for calling some a bad name is ridiculous. I hope you have the equivalent of FIRE where ever you live.

Holy shit are you serious. The guy was fucking shoved in the middle of goddamn class. An assault happened. He's not getting expelled for just name calling. How many more people are going to not read the OP.

It's amusing to me how people still trivialize hate speech. "Faggot" isn't just a "bad name", it's a god damn slur. It's the same as if the person had called him an ethnic slur. Are you saying ethnic slurs aren't grounds for expulsion as well?

And it's not just that. He was physically accosted. Plus the guy intimidates professors.

This asshole has it coming

I did read the OP, but somehow skipped over that part. Mea culpa.

Then again, showing someone is hardly a reason for expulsion either. A stern talking to, maybe, but adults should be able to talk something like that through between themselves. These are university students after all.

There is a key difference here. When you call someone of a particular race an ethnic slur you are trying to be malicious as you know the target will take greater offense to the word than someone that term is not generally used to degrade.

The OP has stated the guy didnt know he was bisexual. So in this instance the jerk is most likely using the term as a general diss, and whether you agree with it or not that word is used as a general male diss by a large portion of the population. If the jerk knew he was bisexual and then called him that term it would be the same as using an ethnic slur.

Calling me an N would be a lot more offensive than calling me an F because i am black but im not gay or bisexual.

you may be trivializing getting expelled from university.

if it were up to me, i would not have a person who called me a name, or even shoved me get expelled. even if i got punched in the face, i would hope the dude just gets in trouble, but not expelled. I don't believe that if I've been harmed and I'm in the right, that I have a blank check to mercilessly ruin someone else's life.

His life isn't ruined. As others have said, he can apply to attend other schools.

That sort of behavior isn't acceptable at all in a professional environment.

Everyone is dogging you out. But fuck that: /respeknuckles

People are missing one key thing: Dude went out his backyard and crossed into shi02's property. Shit, in many states you can shoot a man dead for that. No trial. No lawsuit.

I don't give a fuck...come on my property with that noise and there will be a problem. Not everyone is a pacifist.

Is there some kind of elaborate joke going on with people not not reading the OP? It's not like he typed it in broken English or something.

Thanks guys, I missed the part about the shove.

I was a little surprised at first but it makes sense to me now. The punishment definitely fits the crime.

Also assault does not require physical contact. That's why we have assault and battery.
