It's funny how people proclaimed the Cell "too hard" when the entire industry has started going the same way with CUDA / OpenCL and GPGPU programming in general.
I would be surprised if MS does adopt the Cell, but they have something called DirectCompute which is an abstraction layer much like OpenCL that could form the basis of creating work units which are offloaded onto the GPU or some other exotic high speed processor.
