iDOLM@STER ONE FOR ALL | OT | It's a M@STERPIECE

edit: i also think im@s focus should always be the games since the characters tended to be different in the Anime compared to the games :lol

The characters tend to be a bit different between the games as well, though - the only canonical consistency in iM@S most the time is that there isn't really canonical consistency!

Maturity, bitches.
Yep, Miki's only redeeming feature, being a natural brunette and cutting her hair in the first iM@S was basically retconned out. Well I don't mind since it just means she is left with zero positives.

Also a lot of the GAF fan base seems to be through the shows so focusing on just the game could end up shutting then out.

Yep i agree on that. The only thing i was trying to say was that the anime characters are less developed then in the games. But that is because most of them get way less lines and way less focus then in the games.

Also a lot of the GAF fan base seems to be through the shows so focusing on just the game could end up shutting then out.

Yep that is why it should be a community wide focus on the Im@s franchise as a whole. No need to shut out anything. We even have side-m fans on gaf so everything goes. Only thing i am saying is to not make the focus on only CG just because it is releasing soon. But on everything Im@s.

Maturity, bitches.
I was just suggesting Cindy Gals as a bait to hook people in. I'm tempted to make the OT for the anime and from there one can link to the general community thread for people to migrate to when the show is over and they are interested in learning more.

Yeah you could do that, but talk with StayDead on how you both are going to create it. Would be cool if you both could create the 2 topics together and if you need any help let me know.

Both as members of the superior GAF, BritGAF should be able to get this done no problem BD

I wish they weren't only available through crane prizes. They're annoyingly difficult to get because of it :(

The Haruka-san plushie? I really want one of those. Almost tempted to risk Yahoo auctions for one.

Yeah, that and Yukipo and Chihya. Takanya and Chibiki are the next two that'll be out later.

Having an army of Haruka-sans would be too cool if it were possible.

The iDOLM@STER series started as an arcade game released in 2005 where you as the producer took your budding popstars from nothing to stardom. It was followed later on in 2007 with a home console (360) port of the game with later a three version PSP port titled iDOLM@STER SP which added Takane and Hibiki as producable idols. Since then iDOLM@STER has seen two direct sequels: iDOLM@STER 2 and iDOLM@STER ONE FOR ALL.

iDOLM@STER ONE FOR ALL |OT| - http://www.neogaf.com/forum/showthread.php?t=819112 (although this community thread will be the main point of access now)!
The series has also spawned

YeSSYfR.jpg

In 2009 Namco released iDOLM@STER Dearly Stars for the Nintendo DS which changed the focus from the first game in which you played as one of three idols Ai Hidaka, Eri Mizutani and Ryō Akizuk in as Namco calls it a life simulation game. This spin-off games events take place canonically before iDOLM@STER 2.

The next set of spinoffs come in the shape of iDOLM@STER Gravure For You which were a 9 volume fan disk series where you take photos of your favourite idols.

Next we have the three PSP and later iOS titles which released as three titles. Groovy Tune (Miki, Takane, Yukiho, Makoto), Funky Note (Ami, Mami, Yayoi, Iori) and finally Honey Sound (Haruka, Chihaya, Azusa, Ritsuko)

Then last but not least we have the two Mobile series. Cinderella Girls and Million Live.

THE ANIMATION

iDOLM@STER 2 recieved an anime adaptation titled iDOLM@STER in 2011 and later a movie which released in 2014 titled THE IDOLM@STER MOVIE 輝きの向こう側へ!

Last but not least the 4koma manga Puchimas! Petit Idolmaster which runs in ASCII Media Works' Dengeki Maoh has recieved two amazing anime series both of which are avaliable to watch on Niconico (unless they've been taken down now) and I'd recommend them to anyone.

Coming soon on the anime front as of January 2015 is the anime adaptation following the lives of some of the popular (including the best, Ranko)'s lives which will follow a style similar to the anime adaptation of iDOLM@STER 2.

Well to avoid any accusation of preference bias in the order you put the idols may I suggest something like alphabetical order of by birthday.

Since the games section is just images may I suggest just a series of small pictures of the boxes. Just to avoid as much need to scroll as possible.

Also you forgot the most important animation, Xenoglossia.

Finally, the whole three size thing may make prude GAF raise a few eyebrows.

I would suggest also putting a PS3 boxart for Idolm@ster 2 since newcomers might be under the false impression that it's not on the system at a glance

I'd be up for this if it was age first then birthdate

You mentioned the best of the CG girls. I'm happy.

And that Makoto bias lol

And I guess we can help with the album and song list along the way. All at once sounds too daunting.

ONE FOR ALL which was more an updated version of iDOLM@STER 2 readded the ability for the player to produce Ritsuko, Ami, Azusa and Iori while revamping to some for the better and to others for the worse the vocal, dance and image training. It had mixed reviews amongst fans with some liking the fact they removed some RNG and others finding it removed too much. To decide for yourself, give it a play!

The first OT is posted in Off-Topic and will then eventually be moved to Community.

I was more wondering whether it should go in Gaming or OT but yeah I get you. I'll add some Side-M info later although I don't really know much about it. I thought it was still dead after it went into maintenence last year, is it back now?

BGBW

Maturity, bitches.
I mean technically we're also missing info about the mangas, but there comes a point when an OP gets far too busy.

Since it's a general iM@S thread that focuses on all media I think OT is the better side for it.

BGBW

Maturity, bitches.
Is iDOLM@STER JP language only?

The games? You can get the Shiny Festa titles for iOS in English. The rest are JP only.

Other media like the anime have been translated.

Figurines need no translation.

Yep its its been back since half July i believe. At least somewhere in July. It ain't really popular over here in the west. But it is doing pretty well in Japan from what i have heard. I do like Pierre the amusement worker hahaha he always wears a frog with him.

Roll up and see the only Xenoglossia fan in existence!

I could probably beat you in that regard - I have a Xenoglossia towel, and both the Yayoi trading figure, and the secret figure from that series what was the penguin suit add-on for the aforementioned Yayoi figure.

I don't think there is any area of iM@S I can beat you in.

I was actually considering getting this Haruka XG figurine, but I probably should lay off the Harukas.

Wait, should this kind of talk be left till the community thread?
