Kojima is still actively promoting the game. Obviously he wants people to enjoy what he worked so hard on. To boycott this game seems more like a "fuck you" to Kojima and not Konami.Even though everything Konami did Kojima said he and his team still wanted to make a good game for fans. And that's why, out of respect for Kojima and the fact that I do want to experience the last MGS by Kojima, I'll buy Phantom Pain. Enjoy the $60 bucks Konami, it's the last of my money you'll ever see.
I'll just slap this over the cover and forget Konami ever existed.
Ok, but I'm going to buy used anyway.
The CEO and Board made their decision long ago before new vs used factored into the discussion.
I care about my pocket, not theirs. Big Japanese corporation involved in many lines of business doesn't care about me, the American, personally.
However, I'm printing a cover that correctly credits Kojima.
So you obviously care about Kojima given the bolded. Do you think Kojima/KojiPro would rather you buy it new or used?
Let's cut to the chase and stop with this whole charade.
99.9% of people who claim to be boycotting this game won't.
How many examples of failed "boycotts" do we need before everyone realizes this?
I'd say they probably don't give a damn either way, since they've all been fired. So you obviously care about Kojima given the bolded. Do you think Kojima/KojiPro would rather you buy it new or used?
Already purchased 2 copies.
If you want to protest them, don't buy whatever new shit they spew out after MGS5 comes out.
I'll buy it used 6 months after release
It doesn't matter. The Publisher funds the Developer. KojiPro is not the publisher.
If Kojima was directly profiting from every copy of Metal Gear Solid 5 sold, your argument would have weight. They are contracted by Konami and Konami is no longer in the games business. Why should I help a defunct publisher who clearly had no respect for their talent?

Yeah I'm sure if the game sold 0 copies KojiPro would be fine with it. They got paid and now they're fired. They don't care anymore.
i wanna boycott because i cant stand metal gear anymore, may change my mind though. Quite's jammy knockers are selling on the game.
konami is still a business nonetheless
just buy the game if you want to play it
The funny thing is that this joke won't work for long because Konami is losing all their talent.Moshi Moshi? Kochira Yamato, I was the leading and creative director of many successful projects, may I take your message?
*hungs up
Yamato-san: Somebody kill me now or I'll commit sudoku.
If I buy it new will they bring back Kojima? No? I'm buying used.
"I'm mad that Konami is treating Kojima badly so I won't buy Kojima's game even though he wants me to"I really wouldn't be surprised if Konami had an agreement with secondhand shops that included places like Gamestop or Amazon requiring a percentage of their used games sales to go back to Konami.
I don't know if that's the case, but yeah I don't intend on giving 60 dollars to Konami for the way they handled everything.
My man. Emphasis on the bolded. People are acting like KojiPro doesn't care if the game they've worked hard and passionately for 5+ years sells well because they don't profit from more sales. If you buy it used will that affect Konami negatively in any way? Other than confirming their doubts about the profitability of console gaming, no.
This is 5 years of passion from Kojima Productions, it would be a bigger statement to Konami when people buy MGSV in droves but the next one, sans Kojima, tanks hard

Lol that's not what boycotting is.I want to play the game, but I don't want Konami to get my money. Buying it used is the perfect solution and it counts as boycott in my eyes.
They're already hiring for a MGS reboot or something IIRCThis is true. Fans can let Konami know that they don't appreciate the decision when discussions of a new Metal Gear game pop up.
But, that would be applicable if Konami was interested in making videogames anymore.
I never said I wasn't buying the damn game. I said I'll buy it used. Deal with it.

I'm sure everyone would prefer their game be bought new than used (because don't used games not count towards sales numbers? I may be wrong though), but yeah whatever I'm not gonna keep arguing. Sorry if I've been annoying btw :^)
MGS is also open world. I have my doubt's about Mad Max being longer. Looks great though.I think the game is going to do great regardless of who is publishing it. Those who enjoy the franchise, go and buy it.
Personally, I do like it, but I am not going to buy it (have only played Ground Zeroes, which was free on PS+, and Peace Walker).
I only have a budget of both time and money (money because I'm waiting for the winter releases) for probably Mad Max. Sure Mad Max is an open world and will take much longer (speculation) to beat, but it provides the GTA effect of just playing one mission (or going on a rampage) without being wholly engrossed in the story.
Is anyone actually going to boycott, though?

I totally understand that. I'm also a big MGS fan but I can't be bothered to let any moral or ethical stance delay me from playing the game. It just won't make a difference and no message will be received by Konami either way. Why punish myself? If you wish to wait that's your decision. Nothing wrong with that at all. Just a wee bit silly from my perspective as a big fan of the franchise. At least doing it your way, any bugs and issues should be patched by thenI've been Day 1 for MGS 2, 3, 4, and Peace Walker.
I don't want to support a publisher that doesn't care anymore.
I would hope most people understood that.
The MW2 Steam Community pic
19 people shown playing it... of a possible 612
Like what does the pic even represent tbh
