Konami isn't going to go back to being a game company we like regardless. So why bother boycotting. If you'd like MGS V just buy it. Otherwise don't.

I've been on the fence ever since Kiefer Sutherland, but the gameplay in Ground Zeroes is just too good.

I will be buying MGS5, regardless of what's happening with Konami.

Based on Keighley's friendship with Kojima, I was almost sure there would be a "Final Hours of Metal Gear Solid V". With all the recent hub-ub, that's almost certainly not going to be the case. Loved the 4 iPad apps that were created. With Metal Gear being my favorite gaming franchise of all time, I will certainly miss it. It'd make a hell of a story if there was one created...

Ground Zeroes gave me some incredible handling stealth. I don't want to miss out on that kind of gameplay.

I was definitely planning to buy it used but this thread made me realise that it doesn't really make much sense. I don't plan to buy day one but I will buy a brand new copy to support Kojima.

I'm saying that by buying the game you're directly giving Konami the thumbs up, telling them in the most direct way that is available to you as a consumer that they did the right thing.

It's actually the opposite. You're telling Konami that this is the kind of thing you want more of.

Those are the only messages you can send with your wallet:

A. Buy the game: "I like these games, Konami. Please make more."
B. Don't buy the game or get it used: "Please make some free to play garbage with in app purchases and erotic violence."

Everyone will say it's too late, Konami is committed to mobile and they've burned bridges with Kojima, but really stranger shit has happened. If you think not buying the game somehow tells Konami that you liked Metal Gear and they should keep making them, uh, I guess we're at the end of the conversation.

MGS is also open world. I have my doubt's about Mad Max being longer. Looks great though.

The game could sell 10mil on the first day and Konami still wouldn't give a shit. In their eyes the game cost far too much and took far too long to develop when they can just pump out mobile games and pachislot machines for far less money for a more stable return.

It's not a shitty example. This was a group dedicated to boycotting the game. There shouldn't have been anyone playing it there. Saying that "only" 19 people visible out of ~700 were playing is completely missing the point.
