IGN first: the music of Bloodborne

Incredible performance, then again I've absolutely loved what little of the music we've heard thus far and it's extremely haunting and just wonderfully classical.

Oh damn, that was way better than expected.

Crazy how much work is put into these games. You only picture devs with red eyes behind their three monitors or mocap sessions when you think about game development. TLOU documentation had also a nice part about the process of creating the music for the game.

Its sounds fantastic but I wouldn't say I'm impressed. It sounds like typical dark fantasy fare. Hell sounds a little bit like Sleepy Hollow's theme even, but that might just be me.

So we've heard that Michael Wandmacher is behind the music for Bloodborne, and yet at 0:52 in the YouTube video, you can see that this particular piece is composed by a Tsukasa Saitoh. Is From going with multiple composers like in Dark Souls II?

This game will surprise the nay-sayers who predict it wont's as many copies. I will sell tons. Especially now since The Witcher 3 was pushed back. Just look at the Dying Light sales. The thirst is strong for new games.

Actually, I preferred Shunsuke Kida's take with Demon's Souls over Sakuraba doing Dark and Dark II.

I wish Sakuraba wasn't so burnt out from doing a million zillion soundtracks for every game ever, he hasn't made a good Tales OST for a very long time.

Agreed, the instrumentation was extremely unique.

Jebus. The OST seems to be really freaking good. This and the song in environments trailer are powerful pieces. It seems the music will be a very strong plus for the game, as it should.

You can still get a digital copy of the soundtrack if you get the collectors edition of this game. Its still available on Amazon sold out at Gamestop and they had some at best buy last time I checked.

You really shouldn't have posted this. It made me go preorder the damn thing.

Gothic type setting with supernatural creatures : Check
Gothic style music with full orchestra and amazing vocals : Check

Day one purchase : Check..

This reminds me of Carl Orff's "O Fortuna" (my favorite song of this type).

Excalibur anyone?

Speaking of graphics, aren't we supposed to get some type of update today on how the visuals have improved from the build IGN is showing?

No.

There were two separate twitter posts.
1) a PR guy said the game's graphics would "continue to improve" until release
2) Yamigawa (SCEJ producer) would be a guest on the weekly (?) DeS playthrough on Niconico, which is already over. According to the poster above they played the beginning of BB, including character creator, but don't know other details (like if they previewed BEARDS).

Kinda weird that they stuck to the same kind of tone as Dark/Demon Souls, but then dropped Sakuraba. I honestly had no idea it wasn't him until someone told me.
It's easily noticeable actually since the music seems to be great this time around.

Sure, the previous Souls games had a couple of good tracks here and there but overall their soundtracks weren't anything special.

But after hearing snippets of Bloodborne's OST it seems that the only aspect of the Souls series that was lacking is finally up to snuff with the rest of the game.

Edit:
EDIT: I get it - Sakuraba is probably Namco's doing.
Yep I think it's best if Sakuraba stuck to Namco games since his signature sound isn't good enough for something of this caliber.
