And better than many dramas as well. When it was at peak powers. Sadly, it did not always get the recognition it deserved because it was a sci fi show.BertramCooper said:BSG at its peak is better than any television sci-fi ever made.
But the entire body of work? Probably not. That said, I'm not going to take issue with it being number 1 on some random IGN list.
One of the best shows of all time, and not at all sci-fi.Count Dookkake said:A lot of shit all over that list and no Twin Peaks?
Atlantis is terrible. Just bad. There were a few decent episodes here and there, but it was just bad.dralla said:Firefly and X-Files are 2 of my favorite TV shows ever. I've only seen the Atlantis spin off BS and it did nothing for me. I still need to get around to watching Dr. Who
beelzebozo said:always thought this was a cool show when i was little. not "top 50" material, but fun.

Also, you telling me that you're gonna put Transformers, the Jetsons, and Clone Wars on that list, but nothing from the Gundam franchise, the DC Animated Universe (Batman:TAS to Justice League Unlimited), or Samurai Jack?
They didn't even pick the GOOD Clone Wars series.
Bullll shiiiiiiiiiiieeeeeeeeeetttttttt.

Go for it, like what?Count Dookkake said:Uh, you should pay a bit more attention. Plenty of sci-fi elements in Twin Peaks, among all the other genre stuff.

god, someone isn't paying attention.
Here's what I had to say about SG-1 during my last rewatch (took me forever to find this post).Alucard said:SG-1 deserves whatever love it gets. It has interesting worlds, characters, and concepts. The stories aren't always perfect, but it's an incredibly entertaining show that is both serious and fun.
Dax01 said:I've been going through the entire series of Stargate SG-1. I'm currently on season nine, but I'm going to list my favorite seasons and episodes and such up until season 8.

I don't remember a message from space, however the black lodge and the giant don't strike me as sci-fi at all, even something like the red room is more magical and fantasy than anything that is pretending to be scientific. Where is the science in this science fiction?Count Dookkake said:You really don't remember all the stuff about SETI and messages from space and The Giant and The Black Lodge and time warps and so on?
Watch it again. It is sci-fi as much as it is anything else.

I completely forgot about Samurai Jack. This list is disappointing.AceBandage said:samuraiJack.jpg
24. The Adventures of Briscoe County, Jr.
I dont have issue with XFiles, TNG or Twilight Zone being in the top 5. I LOVE Qunatum Leap, and it is a top 25 show, but maybe not top 5. First seasons of Lost...eh, top 25 again.PantherLotus said:1. TNG
2. Twilight Zone
3. The first 2.5 seasons of LOST
4. X-Files
5. Quantum Leap
This is the truth. Any of those shows in whatever order for the top 3. While I think TNG is better than TOS, TOS is more influential.DrForester said:Top 3 of any sci-fi list would be a combination of Star Trek, Twilight Zone and Doctor Who. No other shows have had a bigger impact on how Sci-Fi is done than these.

List sucks, IGNorant, fuck them etc
MetalAlien said:It still amazes me just how right they got everything in STTNG. IMO It is so much better than everything that came before or after.

I'm ashamed to admit I have not watched one second of mystery theatre. I've heard plenty of mixed opinions (from red dwarf fans no less) but yeah, it never aired when I was into Red Dwarf and my bias is almost certainly set.DrForester said:It's behind MST3K, that's all that matters.
American low budget Sci-Fi > UK low budget Sci-Fi!
