IGN is credible this week then?
PS4 came after the PS3 Era...Had to start a new.
PS5 will be even more successful Coming after PS4
OP, you're misrepresenting this as sales. I just listened to what the podcaster guy actually said. He's talking about clicks to IGN because of how disorganised and poor the pre-order was, so lots of gamers went to IGN to try and find out what was going on and where/when consoles might be available. You omitted this line:
"total click volume, it's a multi-national how can they have problems with this. But I guess Xbox did too..."
This is clicks due to the disaster of how Sony handled communication around the pre order, nothing to do with sales figures.
They are still not reliable, Ps5 sales seems really strong but that articles doesn't mean much.We know it sells well to what extent we'll probably need to wait a bit.IGN is credible this week then?
Good luck downloading anything from PSN on launch day!
30:35 (after the Bethesda and Microsoft pre-order segment)
Just a little reminder to a certain fanbase.
Facts from their ass. Where did they get the numbers from?

This thread should really be locked, as it's pretty misleading, and only really adds to the already febrile atmosphere around here...
We don't know how many Ps5s or XsXs were sold. None of us do. Especially not IGN
That is what is happening whatever some like it or not.
“issues” lol. You still don’t get the market, don’t you?
This is a console aimed towards casuals. Casuals don’t pre order consoles months in advance. Why would say?
Bigger than an iPhone launch Apple only shipped 37 million iPhone 11's this past year
You're trying too hard. They would have sold out just as fast regardless of retailers breaking rules and they'd still have tons of traffic.Leave it to Sony NeoGAF to turn info on how miss managed preorders where into some sort of “win”....

Here its the same, nobody wants the s, i still remember when people come here to tell us that thing its gonna sell the most, lolGot of a call to a rep at my local game store. They can't guarantee a console until next year and even then it's a bit of a stretch to get one. Sold out here in 30 minutes countrywide. I'm in NZ by the way
The demand for PS5 is rediculous.
Only console in stock is Series S.
Or maybe you should wait for normal folks, not the pre-ordering type, to start coming into the stores, let’s say in the next Black Friday and see what they buy. Here its the same, nobody wants the s, i still remember when people come here to tell us that thing its gonna sell the most, lol

Maybe i get this wrong, but isn't he just talking about clicks on the website IGN and OP makes it look like PS5 sold better than iPhones?
Oh, not even sure why they are surprised about that. It's a gaming website...no, the article is not about sales at all.
It’s just the amount of clicks IGN received when:
a) the iPhone launched
b) it was Black Friday
c) preorders for PS5 has opened before Sony saying they were opened.
Scenario c got much much more clicks than a and b.
I believe that’s because the whole preorder of the ps5 was a huge clusterfuck and IGN is a gaming site so people that visit that site care more for ps5 than iPhone or Black Friday.
Oh, not even sure why they are surprised about that. It's a gaming website...
It will make a huge difference in price-sensitive markets, one of which is U.S.A.Oh sure jan
Are you certain?
Yes it would have. Most of that traffic was from casuals who don't keep up on forums like this all day. The units would have sold out just as quickly and these people would have gone there wondering why nothing was available.yeah they would have sold out but ign click thrus wouldn’t have “spiked” if it was organized.
just like cheap ass gamer, they got hammered because people didn’t know where to buy and when.
comparing click thru on a miss managed preorder launch to something like and IPhone launch is just stupid. Why would anyone use ign links to buy an iPhone....
apple will sell more of the next iPhone in an hour after orders start then Sony will sell for the rest of the year maybe an entire year.
