IGN speculates on Wii's price and release date.

only games that need to register on screen input on the television need the sensor bar as far as I understand it.

Baseball, no sensor bar required for batting (correct?)
Supermonkey ball, no sensor bar required for the main game, but some minigames may require it (shooting)

House of the dead wii (should it exist) - would need the sensor bar
mario galaxy - uses the sensor bar.

I believe there is another use for the sensor bar which has not been given yet.

if you believe that, then obviously you are imagining situations in your head. give us a laugh, this thread is rooted anyway.

I thought the wii motes functions with regard to position detection were pretty well layed out by now.

Anecdotimal evidence: The computers have changed several dates for a couple games from early-mid october to November 1, including The Legend of Zelda: Twilight Princess for Gamecube.

If it gets delayed, I'm holding you personally responsible.
That’s fine, Zelda got raped in it anyway, it was seen as too much for kiddies and would have gotten an “R” certificate, so they had to delay it to remove that portion of the game, so I can take it.
Miyamoto isn’t happy, he wanted a mature theme, so instead all the background characters will shoot up and smoke dope.

My prediction for Japan:
21 October.
21,000 yen.

Sold. Shit, I`d skip work to go stand in line.

@Chû Totoro: Not every game needs the sensor bar according to Nintendo...thus my original comment...I believe there is another use for the sensor bar which has not been given yet.

Well I've never heard about that but you seems to be pretty sure. (source ? :D )

And for the release date Nov 1 for US and Nov 24 for Europe ? (if we follow Zelda GC dates... well I know that sounds stupid but why not ? :) )

You work on Saturdays? :(

I just figured it's gonna be October since they said "Oct-Dec" (cough cough), and 21 is a lucky number for them - Famicom launched on 21st and 21010 is the numeric "representation" of nintendo. (ni-ten-tou). And what do you know... 21st Oct is a Saturday. Perfect for a hardware launch.

metal slug
Zelda TP
MP3:C

That'll probably be my immediate purchase list. As long as Metal Slug has an option for GCN or Wii Classic Controller I'll be buying it. Zelda TP and MP3:C will be hard for me to play at the same time.

Might end up getting Wii Sports or Excite Truck depending on how much I enjoy them.

229 sounds more like how much it costs nintendo per system... i hope we get them for 199 with 2 wii motes, classic and a download... my other guess is wii sports is a budget titles like the touch gen stuff..
