It's really awesome to see that a gaming company receiving a positive reception for trying hard to provide gamers with the fun experiences they strongly desire is met with ire by so many here. Why does it make people mad that Nintendo's efforts at E3 resonated with IGN's readers?
Over 100,000 people who were motivated / felt like voting and made their voice heard...
Think about that for a minute, that's a very big difference to 100,000 IGN visitors....
What does winning even mean ? If it means winning E3 you made your existing supporters the most happy and willing to shout about it in a poll or forum, then yes Nintendo won.
If winning means it influenced non Nintendo console owners to buy the system...that's very different.....that's a business analysis.
I think Nintendo pleased their core fans more than anybody else.
Personally If they brought an excite truck back I would be interested....miss that game.
Look, Nintendo fans aren't excited about E3 because they think it's going to lead us to the promised land of everlasting sales and NPD wins. It's not going to sell well, we know that, we've accepted that. Nintendo fans are excited because even though we know the console is never going to post incredible numbers, Nintendo have shown they're going to do a Jack Sparrow. Rather than bail on the Wii U early and try swimming to shore, they're going to ride it to the finish line with game support. And because they've shown they'll support a console with games even when the sales aren't great, that should mean that when they hop off the Wii U and onto the jetty of next next-gen, they should have gathered enough good will and momentum to at least stand a chance of doing a good deal better.

Wii U isn't doing great. Wii U owners still get great games to play. It's not exactly rocket science why that means Nintendo fans are positive about the most recent E3.
I'm rather enjoying how IGN viewer opinion suddenly doesn't matter when it reflects something positive about Nintendo when that same viewership is used to explain how the Digital Event was a bad idea because it doesn't reach out to the wider audience like IGN viewership.
Contradiction: it's what's for dinner.
For you, the day Nintendo graced E3 was the most important day of your life. But for me, it was Tuesday.
Let Nintendo have this victory. They've had a hard life, Iwata is ill, Miyamoto hasn't made a good game since the 90s and the Wii U is the definition of a turd guzzler. While the rest of are experiencing our lives, growing older and playing as a hobby. for these fans Nintendo IS there life, they were born playing Nintendo games, and they will die doing so. Nintendo fans are not real people as they will not experience the ride that we know as life.
So yes, Nintendo has won E3, but we have won life.
It's becoming increasingly obvious why Nintendo fans dislike 'experience' gaming. They have no life experience.
Take TLOU for example, which is critically rated by the media and gamers alike, but not Nintendo fans. TLOU has great gameplay, but what makes it stand out is it's atmosphere, characters and story. For many us we can relate as we have found our place in society and have friend and family. Just the thought of society collapsing is horrifying, and losing those we love is distressing. The dark turn that humanity is something we can all relate to depending on what your willing to do to get by. This paired with the gameplay which matches the tone explains why TLOU is hailed as a great game.
Nintendo fans have none of that experience to draw upon. In fact, Nintendo fans are similar to that of a garden weed, that soak up all the benefits of their family (the garden) while growing larger and larger while doing serving no purpose and contributing nothing. Eventually they die, or you throw them into another garden (the state welfare) for someone else to deal with.
Maybe if Nintendo made a cinematic game about what games to buy with your mum's money finally them Nintendo fans would get it.

as usual when it comes to Nintendo threads, things get nasty soon enough. Some people just cannot accept that the company does something right eventually
errr
as opposed to slightly compatible, almost compatible and well not quite there yet compatible
he doesn't indeed, I mean, the Vita is such an amazingly successful device, he was right to strike a deal with Capcom for MonHun before Nintendo
prepare your umbrellas, soon will rain Smokydave's juice
ugh.
they already have enough room, all that empty space where there once was a Vita
I think they could eventually pull it off, but indeed the variety and nature of Nintendo's games does offer a different way of introducing things more suited to a Treehouse event. A several hours long session about COD would just put me to sleep
Vita wished it had a bad rep. A bad rep isn't necessarly a sign of bad sales, the mass market don't give a shit about how these devices are perceived by the enthusiast folk
have you perhaps missed the sodding ton of threads about how the Vita is such a wonderful machine? They spring out like 'shrooms. If anything, there's too much Vita fanboyism here, to the point of it being slightly annoying
And you are talking about people shitting on Nintendo threads? LOL.yes, there are too many threads about it. Can I be annoyed by that fact? I am
Man don't remind me.
Really?

Guys, lighten up on the metacommentary.
Feel free to comment on Nintendo at E3 or your thoughts on how their show was perceived, but I'd suggest not making a driveby just to make jabs at a fanbase or incite console wars.
agreed brosef. We maybe Zombies, but we still got Soul. I just wish Sega knew the power of their arcade titles and other games.
Pretty ballsy of Phoenician_Viking to play the 'go through post history to see obvious bias against a console' card.

He's probably been itching to do it since I caught his Bayonetta slip-up. lol
Link?
The fact that Sony got voted to have a better overall conference compared to MS is just laughable. Shows what community reigns supreme.

His opinion of the first game "evolved" (some time after B2 was announced as a Wii U exclusive).
But that's neither here nor there.
OT, Nintendo did "win" E3 if you look at an overall picture, but as far as the sales talk it won't amount to much. The Wii U will still continue to be the low selling barely-existing from a third-party perspective system that it is now.

Unrelated? He generalized about people shitting up a thread, yet he does the same thing. It´s very related.Did you really just shamelessly post this guys entire post history on a unrelated thread to get across an unrelated point?
Haha, you´re the one to talk.Man, this is like the pot calling the kettle black from viking
There´s no slip up what so ever. People change their mind about games all the time. I still remember you saying all kind of bullshit in next gen speculation threads just to make the WiiU looks better. He's probably been itching to do it since I caught his Bayonetta slip-up. lol

Hahahaha, that´s rich.Pretty ballsy of Phoenician_Viking to play the 'go through post history to see obvious bias against a console' card.
This isn't about business analysis though and who will sell more systems, this is about who had the better E3. Considering Microsoft and Sony numbers (for PS4 and Xbox One) outnumber Nintendo's numbers 2 to 1 this is a pretty big win for Nintendo and recognition that their new strategy for E3 is working.
Sales numbers come with releasing quality software and actually supporting a system. Mario Kart 8 proves that Nintendo fans are willing to spend money and in large numbers when presented with something worth owning. It's fairly obvious based off E3 that this is Nintendo's plan.
As for Excite Truck I'd much rather see a new Excite Bike done in the same vain as Trials (in terms of graphics and presentation). Give me a sweet track editor, the ability to share online, a decent stunt system, and the ability to race friends and I'm sold.

Yeah Sony had daily streams, but I stayed on Nintendo's stream, because they did it right. Sony had 20 minute or more breaks between games and didn't go as in depth, while Nintendo went more in depth on the games they showed and each break between games was 90 seconds or less.
That's a HUGE difference in execution.

Derp Mario Kart 8, Smash Bros, Zelda, Bayonetta 2(with one) Metroid might be on the return too. And many more Big N stuff if want them. I am sorry to the guys say Nintendo has nothings because IMO its the other way around. They have no third party but damn they have the first. And for A PC gamer its like a match made in heaven. Because I know I will NEVER get those on my PC but the other guys... I have this feeling they will just end up another Steam like Library I click to open to play them.
