IGN has listed their Top 100 Comic Book Heroes. There are a bunch on here that I'm unfamiliar but I wanted to see what GAF thinks. Perfect fodder to relive playground arguments we had as kids.

EDIT: Apparently they're publishing the list 20 a pop. I'm assuming they will reveal more daily so I will keep an eye out and update accordingly. I guess it gives fanboys more time to argue over the top 10. I'm assuming top 5 will look like:

But who are the best and brightest of these heroes? Much as we did with last year’s Top 100 Comic Book Villains, IGN has pulled together a comprehensive list of the greatest heroes to ever grace the pages of the funny books. Some heroes are flawed, some are ruthless, and some are naively optimistic, but every single character that appears on this list have certainly earned their keep. Picked by their cultural impact, character development, social relevance, general cool factor, and importance of storylines, these are the best of the best.

Take with a giant grain of salt obviously.

Watching Batman: The B&tB I can agree with this. One of my favorite heroes out of the DCU. I am really digging the new Blue Beetle but he is new to the universe.

Glad to see I am not the only one who thinks IGN's lists are so dumb. I mean it's obviously going to be Batman. Everyone working for that site has a hard on for the caped crusader except Greg Miller who thinks Superman is the greatest thing ever.
