IGN'S Top 25 PlayStation Vita Games

Particullary I think the Vita is really a weak console in terms of numbers of good games. I entered expecting to see P4G at the 1st place and I'm glad it is.... other then that, I really don't know wich game I'd chose for 2nd place. There are no other game for Vita that had my attention.

Edit:
Actually, there are many good games. But most of them becomes quickly uninteresting, or are just bad ports.

Fixed list

The list could be better, and what the hell it was updated today without Oreshika? Really?
I was expecting the list to be updated because of Oreshika...

Considering Gravity Rush is pretty much the only game that uses the Vita's gyroscopes properly, I can't believe it's missing. Massive oversight - especially since it's, like, one of the only Vita exclusives?

As a proud Vita owner. I already knew what was number 1 . If it was not Persona 4 Golden , then the list was bad. Persona 4 Golden is one of the best games ever made. It will be hard for Persona 5 to top it. But it looks like it could.

Can't agree with Child of Light, I didn't like that game at all.
Tearaway too low (although no PS TV compatibility stings it for me somewhat).

Not a fan of Persona 4 tbh, don't understand the love it gets but each to their own!

My "to buy" list for Vita has a total of 130 Retail and Digital titles so theres plenty of good shit out there in my eyes!

I've only had a Vita a couple of months now and I've only really played a few of the games on that list (Thanks to PS+ piling them up for me long before I ever got the console), but I'm honestly scratching my head at how garbage like Thomas was Alone and Child of Light made it on there but stuff like TxK, Soul Sacrifice or BlazBlue didn't.

Oh wait, IGN...

Child of Light is a popular game that is largely considered best on the Vita. If anything I thought it would be higher.

Danganronpa is such a weird series to be frequently marked as the best on the Vita, because it is simultaneously everything wrong with the Vita library: super Eastern and super niche. As good as the series is, most people will never enjoy it. Vita might be home for visual novels, but visual novels do not have mainstream appeal.

Do they?

Personally surprised there's no Minecraft, Gravity Rush, or MGS HD.

No Tales of Hearts R love? I am a Tales game junkie and I thought Hearts was great, definitely better than a lot of games on this list. I agree with #1 though.

Child of Light is so overrated

Really surprised by all of this sentiment here. Child of Light was the first game I played on my Vita and is one of the most pleasant experiences I've ever had playing games.

Sure, the rhyming was forced and a hindrance to the game, but that's really my only complaint against the game... At all.

Excellent artwork, excellent characters, excellent score, excellent world, excellent battle system. Not sure what's to complain about.

I wish more games were like Child of Light, which is why Ori and the Blind Forest looks so good to me.

If there is any platform to play Child of Light on, I would say the Vita.

When the jump button became a fly button my jaw dropped. Going into that game blind was incredible. Jump becoming fly stands as one of the most memorable and pivotal experiences I've ever had as a gamer. If even one more game surprises me on a mechanical level like that for the rest of the generation I would be amazed.

A friend of mine who only ever played CoD and GTA played Child of Light and Valiant Hearts and they single handledly changed his entire appetite and interest in the medium. He's hardly even the same guy. You should hear him talk about the intricacies of world building and the strength of female characters when before all he cared about were K/D ratios.

DR1 but no DR2, huh?

Gravity Rush was awful. It shouldn't be anywhere near this type of list, so good on IGN. Terrible controls, boring gameplay, and clunky fights. Tearaway is in the right spot. Good concept but gets dragged down by not really evolving over time. Way too repetitive.

Marvel should definitely have been on the list, though. Great game that was a technical marvel. Where is Wipeout?

I would've liked to have seen more games that are exclusive to the platform (like Ys for example) but it's still a solid list of games.

also, gravity rush is a better game than Uncharted Vita so it's a shame that it was excluded from the list.

Pretty bad list. Uncharted, Tearaway, Killzone, Gravity Rush, Freedom Wars, and Wipeout should easily be towards the top of the list.

If they're going to include multi-plat titles, why not include remote-play titles as well?

Not a bad list though.

Because playing remote play is not the same. There is lag to deal with, making sure the connection is good enough, and even having to have a connection. A game made for the vita is going to run better than remote play (I'd prefer to play the vita version of borderlands 2 on my vita than remote play the handsome Jack collection version for example). And you'll be able to play it anywhere. Not just where you can get a good enough connection.

I'm fine with multi-plats, Spelunky fits so well with the Vita it would be silly not to include it just because you can play the game elsewhere.

I have access to 20 of these but somehow I seem to have overlooked Super Stardust Delta, I think it should scratch the TxK itch judging my the pretty colours even if it's significantly different... I nearly avoided it but as I've mentioned TxK it should really be on the list.

I bought that Persona 4 game, but I figured I should play through the 1-3 first. Made it about 2h into Persona 1 and got sidetracked, haven't gone back yet.

#1 for me is probably Rogue Legacy, followed by Hot Shots Golf.

Killzone and Freedom Wars needs to be higher. Dragon's Crown needs to be lower. They're missing Ys and Gravity Rush. And I'll even say it even though I know that it wasn't a popular game but for me Unit 13 should be on there. And another one that objectively I'd be wrong since I'm in the minority but I'd put Borderlands 2 on there too.

The only thing I really can agree with them on is Persona 4 being number one and at least Killzone and Freedom Wars is on that list (but I'd argue Killzone should be 2nd and Freedom Wars at least 4th if not 3rd.
