I'll probably never play Battlefield 4 again

Friend bought ps4 version and has yet to complete a match without getting kicked or crashed despite trying once a week since launch.

It's been pretty trouble free for me ever since the major patch came out a month or two ago. The occasional crash doesn't bother me since the game is the best FPS multiplayer I've played in quite some time. Can't have it all I guess.

I bought both BF4 and COD for PS4. I never play them. I thought I was just sick of FPS. Then I started playing Warframe (f2p but I have dropped 60 in it) and I love it. Everything I want in a FPS plus crafting, loot, and powers. I would suggest it to all PC pr PS4 users.

I wonder how many people are using wifi and blame crashes on bf4, when the wifi connection maybe to blame, I have bf4 on ps4 and x1 and have a solid ethernet 40mb connection and never crash on either system. I'm starting to think its peoples connections maybe.

Xbox One here and no issues the past couple weeks. Been having a great time with it.

Same here, Xbox One and so far no issues for a long time. Playing the game almost every day. The only issue I've found is that if you disconnect your microphone from the controller while in the game, it kicks you out to the dashboard.

I find that pretty hard to believe. I've played off and on and haven't had any more than 6 crashes. I can't imagine somebody going 15 for 15. If it is still happenning then I'd say it's probably a problem on your friend's end

This wouldn't surprise me. From my experience its usually the people that live farthest away that end up crashing.

Did find a new and magical issue today - they've managed to separate different DLC experience levels. Go into CR or SA maps now and bam - nothing is unlocked. Look at server details and under 'PLAYER EXPERIENCE' it now says 'SA CONQUEST' for example.

Presumably this is an accident.

I haven't played in what must be a month, and I honestly don't have the patience to boot it up and be let down once again.

I was at least not trading it in until after the fan month battlebacks until I got assaulted by useless and even glitched battlelog items in every single battlepack.

Still can't finish a game of conquest on PS4.

I will never buy a BF again, even if it was 2143 or BC3.
heck I don't even want Battlefront 3 after this.

The XB1 version stopped crashing on me after the last patch and I find most of the other bugs on that platform to be relatively minor, in my experience.

I thought the general public might like to know that after DICE's big promise to fix the game before releasing anything else, the game is still as broken as ever.

I wouldn't say as broken as ever. I can play more than 2 sessions without crashing. A big chunk of the game is fixed now unless some new stuff showed up.

I was thinking about getting premium last night, but noticed all the released maps are just old maps from BF3. I have that games and can play it by clicking at the top of the battlelog browser. I'll save the $50 and get Titanfall.

When it launched on PS4 I would crash every 3 rounds...

Then it stopped after an update..

Then it became a Leggy rubberband fest every other round..

Now its back to crashing, but it takes like 10-15 rounds before it happens..

Lag and rubber banding is as always up and down. You can go 3 rounds perfect and the next round it will shit the bed.

Oh course a million bugs have come and gone and still exist. Sound bugs, missing guns until you re-log in, 0 health bug, etc...
Nothing game breaking, just silly and a bit annoying.

In the end I know I played 4 hours last night and 240 hours total..so its not dreadful.

Played second assault and whadya know, the sound loop/spawn with no gun glitch is there.

Like seriously why the fuck? How is it even possible? This shit was in BF3!!!

How the hell can you fix it then and now send out the DLC with the bugs that you 'fixed' from the other game?!?!

I can guarantee without doubt, that this is the last BF and DICE game that I ever spend my money on.

For £100 this is not good enough. Congrats guys I hope you're happy.

No.

Dude I have 120down 25up wired directly into my PS4. This is not connection issues.

This is a shitty netcode, shitty game design, releasing of a half baked game. Nothing more and nothing less.

I'm trading my copy towards Titanfall. What a joke of a game, between the crashes and the massive lag.

Why? From what ive played its a shittier CoD

Anyway, ive had no crashes for about 3 months. Pretty messed up that EAs biggest franchise is such a mess. Good thing they spend millions testing their gam... oh wait lol

Tried to come back to BF4 (PS4) last week with the player appreciation month going on and the second game in of conquest I crashed at the end. This is the first console game I have ever bought that is just simply broken and crashes.

I don't know if I will ever purchase another DICE game again. I know for a fact I will never preorder one. I feel cheated for the the first time in a long while, its a shame too because the game is fun when it works.

I deeply regret buying BF4. It looks great and although I haven't had many issues with the game my friends who I planned to play with get so many consistent problems that playing a steady stream of games with them has been impossible. I'm pretty much done with the franchise.

I haven't dropped on the PS4 in a long time. The new issue I'm having is getting killed by one shot ( that's not a headshot ) and taking a guy down to zero health yet he somehow survives and kills me.

Call me old fashioned, but shouldn't zero health mean you're dead ?

I got it a few days ago, first day it crashed once, second day it crashed once. Last few days have been fine though, the game is smooth, 45-60fps most of the time but at times it goes down to 30fps in hectic maps.

I wish they would have gone for a locked 30fps at 1080p, but this was clearly a rushed launch game with some of the flickering graphics effects (similar to BF3 on PC, but I'd expect these things to be ironed out for closed console specs)

I still haven't played it since 2 weeks after launch waiting for bugfixes. Was going to play it no joke the day the DLC released not realizing it was coming out and found out that it added more problems.

I haven't bothered to put the disc in once during "player appreciation month." Even when it is working correctly, it still feels like a bunch of COD emigres who don't care much about objectives or communicating anything that doesn't involve profanity. This will go down as the last shooter where MP was the selling point for me. From now on, if there isn't something notable about the campaign or co-op, I'm not bothering with it. Destiny seems to be the one game coming out that could pull it off.

again, that is not what they said. They didnt lie about anything in this regard.

As for me the game has been completly playable and a blast for me on PS4, with just minor bugs. main thing I want fixed is the single player save issue. I noticed a bout of rubberbanding last night though on the new maps. Ussually it is pretty rare.

While annoying. as it seems to be a bug that was added in a post launch patch, but it is a killscreen bug not an enemey health bug. Probabaly exasperated by the occosianl wonky netcode.

I'd probably quit if the game lost my multiplayer progression. I was close to quitting the campaign when it first came out because it lost my progress 2-3 times. But now that I've got 10+ times the amount of time into the multiplayer as I did the single player, it's the bigger investment to me.

Unfortunately I picked up Premium early to save $ and get the extras... so they can f*ck around all they want with bug fixes and delaying (or not delaying) DLC, they already have MY money. All I can vote with now is future purchases... and we all know BF5 will look amazing by the time DICE gets around to it so even if I swear I won't buy it now, by then I'll be craving that shit like a junkie looking for a fix... at least I know it.

I play a couple hours every day on PS4 and have not had issues for a long time. The SA maps are great, and the game is probably the most fun I have had on a console game. Sorry for those still having issues, it sucks because the game is really good once you get past that.

Well, since there were so many people saying the game was fine I decided to try again. About 10 minutes into my first game, it crashed again.

I don't know what else to say.

Haven't had a single crash in 4 months and I play 2 hours every night. Drama babies are hilarious.

Yikes. What a bad post!

Do you think people are fabricating their experiences with the game? Just because you're one of the lucky ones, it doesn't mean the problems are less real and the criticism/complaints less legitimate.

Me too. The game ate all my guns, I've only been able to play with the default weapons since last week. Normally, I'd piss and moan about EA and Dice fucking me over, but I'm an idiot for buying the game after all the shit that was stirred about it's brokenness.

Its a bug that was supposed to be fixed but wasn't.

As for the OP, I'm not playing any new BF game. EA is too concerned with hitting deadlines and cash instead of making a competent technical production. Its sad. I get disconnects 1/4 games, constant rubberbanding, emptying clips without killing anything, sniper rifle shots go straight through people without damaging them, etc. All with friends who experience the same issues during the same games. Let's not forget no proper squad option. Joining a friend with space on both teams still splits us up.

Its a piss poor showing.

Battlefield 4 is the best love/hate game for me. I love it when it works but hate it when it doesn't work. The past patch really improved the game but it still has its issues. The biggest issue I have right now is sometimes during the next map loading screen I just get a black screen that loads forever and never load the new map.

He just means to say we should cut our fingernails.

just checked my crash log... 3 crashes in December, 2 in January, 9 in February. that last patch made things so unstable....

i'm still down Day 1 + Premium next time!

Well ...

yeah, it's pretty shitty a lot of the time.

But when it's going well ... which is also a lot of the time ...

I'm running a 7/10 right now on my sliding scale for this game, with potential to get into the 9-range if they can fix the lag and cut the bullshit.

It's so good when it runs smoothly. I'd like to say "Fuck EA and Dice I'm never buying another Battlefield !" , but I'd be lying. It's too much damn fun. I'll probably see you day 1 on BF5 sadly.

I've given up on COD though. I'd take semi -broken BF4 over Ghosts any day. I literally did, I had both games for the PS4 launch and sold Ghosts 2 weeks later and I'd do it again. I had no fun playing Ghosts and COD has been one of my most played games.

Edit: In response to the post above me. The DLC that just came out has been finished for a couple months already. XBone just had a timed exclusive with it. Now, if Dice releases any actual new DLC before fixing the game, then they lied.

DICE removed the banner from the forum that stated they were aware of the sound loop crash and would keep us informed. I guess the refund window has closed.
